Aw, I'm so sorry! He was so cute! I love seahorses ... when we go to the aquarium I can stand there and watch them for ages.

Wait... they change colors? Like chameleons? Yes they do! It's fun to see, but hard to keep track of who is who. Poppet has been very dark for a while, but she's not been well-she has a feeding issue going on that I haven't quite figured out. Widget has decided that white is the new black-she has taken on a distinct mashed potato color. The boys are both golden brown. Tea with lemon would best describe it. Must be the "glow of pregnancy" LOL. One of the boys was lemon yellow when they first arrived.

I'm sad to report that Primus died last night. He had stopped eating yesterday-no idea why. It does appear that both Tristan and Dunstan are pregnant, so we may be opening the nursery again soon. Oh, my heart is heavy! I'm so sorry! I will be patiently waiting for news about Tristan and Dunstan!

Aww, I'm very sad to read that Primus died. I loved the video of him eating. I hope the next batches have some survivors in there, we'll all be rooting for them!

I just found this thread, and it has been fascinating. So sorry about the ponies. Maybe the next round will do better. Some Gulf Coast Toads laid eggs in a puddle in my driveway when my kids were young. We brought in the tadpoles and watched them develop into baby toads. It was so sad to see how many died at each stage of development. I think we ended up with two tiny toads we released back into the yard. I have no idea if they even survived the rest of the day, since I never saw them again. Come to think about it, it's been quite a while since I've seen any. There used to be one that would come out and watch my ldh when he was working on something in the driveway. We'd find ourselves talking to it like you would any other pet. Amazing how fond you can grow of these little critters. Please post more.
