I don't know if this has been posted before but I came across it yesterday...
Airwrecka (Erica). Good grief!
Have you seen any good ones lately?

That's just not OK.
Shame on me but I judge people for such atrocities.

I was just joking to a hotel reservationist that "my mom just had to be different!" by spelling my name (Erika) with a "K" instead of a "C". But apparently I should be very grateful!
It reminds me of a formerly well-known scrapbooker named Erikia Ghumm. I always wondered how her first name is pronounced - is it like "Erika"?

Oh, that is awful!! Every time I see names like this I imagine my reaction the first time I have to call that name out in class. Creative spellings or really weird names drive this teacher bonkers.

I would have been better without the W... because everyone will pronounce it with an emphasis on WRECK.

I read that as Air-wrecker and would not have gotten Erica if you didn't spell it out for me. That poor child

I know a baby girl named Jakk Rayne. Yes, that would be pronounced "Jack Rain" for a little girl. poor thing.

My name is spelled "differently," but that is just ridiculous; that poor child. My name is Ginnifer, and A LOT of people mispronounce it - but I don't hold it against them, it's my mom's fault, not theirs. Lol. I can only imagine all the strange mispronunciations and looks (cuz I get those, too) when people see that name. And, if that poor girl wants her name spelled right ever, she'll have to always spell it out for people. But, I'm sure her parents didn't think this all out when they gave her that god-awful name.
For all the Once Upon a Time fans reading this, I had my name first. Ginnifer Goodwin had the spelling of her name changed to this after I was born. Lol. Sorry, just being a brat there.

That's just not OK. Shame on me but I judge people for such atrocities. That makes two of us. Does it strike anyone else as being massively inappropriate, in an age where aircraft are used as weapons of destruction ? This was the first thing that entered my thoughts when I saw the spelling. Erica is a lovely name. Why bugger it up?

I wonder how Airwrecka will do academically. That is just crazy! Or professionally? If I have to choose between two professionals, knowing nothing about them other than their names, I'll choose the one with a "normal" name every time.

No. Just no. Particularly not this year, this week. I am not assuming the kid was born this week, but still.

That is just awful, poor baby! We had someone put in an application here this week and her name was Philadelphia. I guess it might be another of those "where you were conceived" names.

Okay, some of the creative spellings I don't mind and think they are kind of cute. But this one is just wrong.

If I have to choose between two professionals, knowing nothing about them other than their names, I'll choose the one with a "normal" name every time. My thoughts exactly. If I was looking at resumes, unless she had a stellar one, Airwrecka would probably not get an interview. I know that's judgemental, totally judging a book by it's cover, but in an economy where every job opening has 100s of applicants it's true.

I know a Jannifer who goes by Jan. She's in her 60's now, so I'm sure it was highly unusual during her childhood. Seriously, who would name their child Airwrecka after all the airiplane disasters we've had lately. Imagine her adult self going through security at the airport, checking her id. That's gonna raise a few eyebrows at TSA!

That sounds like a plane crash. You've got to wonder how many of these exotic names are because people just don't know how to spell.

Airwrecka is not good! It's the /wr/ that really throws it off. That isn't even a phonetic spelling.
My friend's sister-in-law is named Keighty. She signs it K8y. Yep.
