Just saw "The Dinner" for Mother's Day as I read the book and loved it. The movie had so much potential. I thought the acting was wonderful. But the execution of the plot was terrible. And the ending. Really, really bad. I should've gone to see "Snatched" instead. Lol. Lisa I read the book and hated it. I saw that the movie didn't get very good reviews. I was contemplating seeing it because I like Richard Gere. Glad you posted a review. OTOH the review I read on Snatched gave it 1.5 stars. But at least it would be entertaining.

My husband got a rare weekend off. We went to see Logan.
Hum! We could have waited for the DVD to rent.

Oh kill me now. I rented lala land. OMG this is the most over hyped movie ever. I am so glad we didn't see this in the theater.
Emma stone and Ryan have absolutely no chemistry. NONE. NADA. NOTHING.

I think it's all in the eye of the beholder. I think they have great chemistry and I thought seeing it in the theater was awesome!

Aliens, the new one - it was okay but extremely gory and not much character development. I'd give it a B-...not bad but not required viewing!

Just got back from seeing Alien: Covenant. Being fans of the original Alien movie last century we decided to give it a go. We both enjoyed it. Not the best movie we've seen but lots of scary jump-out-of-your-seat moments. Oh, and plenty of gore.

Just got back from seeing KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD. I thought it was great fun so I give it about a 7.5. DH gave it a 6 because he isn't a fan of that much sci-fi in a movie.

Saw Pirates last Friday and enjoyed it. It was better than the last two. Now we are looking forward to Wonder Woman and the Mummy.

Just got back from seeing Wonder Woman ~ what a fun movie!! Of course, not everyone agreed. As we were leaving the theater an older woman turned to her companion and said it was the worst movie she had ever seen. Ranted all the way to the parking lot ~ it was amusing because her companion never said a word ~ we're thinking she liked the movie.

Just got back from seeing Megan Leavey a movie based on the true life story of a young marine corporal (Kate Mara) whose unique discipline and bond with her military combat dog saved many lives during their deployment in Iraq. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Went to see 47 Meters Down ~ 2017 entry into the Jaws genre starring Mandy Moore. It was just meh for us. But it's a good lesson for young single women headed to Mexico not to drink tequila with the local boys...

Went to The Beguiled. I had no prior knowledge of this movie and had not seen the previous version (70's, I think). It was definitely different . Quite a few people there! Great acting. Overall, I would give it a 7/10 and do not regret going. Saw a preview that looked good for Lady Macbeth.

I saw Wonder Woman opening night and loved it! 9/10 for me. Logan was "meh" for me. Don't tell my comic book loving friends, though. They all loved it. I thought La La Land was fantastic! Another 9/10, but I love musicals.

We just got back from seeing Baby Driver, a crime comedy about a getaway driver who takes part in a terrible heist. It was fun, sometimes silly, very violent but had incredible driving scenes.

My son loved Baby Driver and saw it twice.
I saw Wonder Woman on July 4 and thought it was excellent. I would definitely see it again. I thought about seeing Megan Leavey, but it wasn't at the theater by me for very long.

I haven't seen it yet but there are a whole lot of bad movies out there!

We saw "Cars 3" last weekend and thought it was fun.One of the themes was respect for the older generation and I can appreciate that since I'm in my mid-fifties. I liked the short cartoon beforehand as well about making friends.
Today we went to "Spider-Man:Homecoming" and thought that was excellent. I like the young actor who plays Spiderman and his sidekick buddy. Michael Keaton is the character the "Vulture." (Stay for the credits.) We highly recommend.

We saw Spiderman yesterday and really enjoyed it. The young actor is really good and just makes the movie. My DS12 thought it could have been a little funnier at times, but I thought it had enough comedy.
Two thumbs up from us!

My DS 16 and his GF want to see Spiderman next week sometimes. I'm not so excited, but I will take them.
I also forgot to post that I saw Cars 3 with them and with the girlfriend's younger brother. No surprise, but I just went for the popcorn. Lol.

I saw 27 meters down. While it wasn't horrible, it was just long and drawn out.
Saw The Beguiled today and it was terrible. So long and boring. The ending was much different than the original.

Saw The Planet of the Apes today. I am not a big fan of the Ape movies..don't hate them but don't particulary like them much.
It was more of a drama (less action) than I expected and though I knew it was 2 hours 20 minutes, I think that it was about 20 minutes too long.
However, since it was only about 6$, I am not unhappy with my purchase!

War for the Planet of the Apes was great. Best of all three.
Spiderman was good but he was almost too much of a doofy teen.
