cadoodlebug, did you get one of those Movie Pass things? I'm curious how it works and if you've found local theaters to use it at (I'm in your area as well). My DD who attends UC Davis ordered one a few days ago. I think it wouldn't work for us because we go on discount Tuesdays and I believe it's just for full pay movies.

We went to see Reese Witherspoon's latest movie Home Again. It was a cute, fun movie. Kind of what we needed after seeing IT last week.

Just got home from seeing American Assassin. We both enjoyed it for what a it is: lots of violence with the Americans trying to kill the *bad* guys.

I went to Mother last weekend. Two hours of my life I will never get back To make it all that much worse, the person next to us brought her approximately 8 year old son! I don't like sitting near children in R rated movies unless they possibly have superheroes involved.

As much as I love Jennifer Lawrence, the previews were enough for us to stay away.

Poorly acted? Stupid story line, or was it just too scary? Gory? I loved horror movies even as an 8 year old but lived in a town with no theater. Closest theater was a 2 hour drive. I used to curl up in bed with my mom and watch them on late night TV. As long as the kids are well behaved during the movie I don't mind them there for horror movies. Now sex laden movies it would bother me. Isn't it interesting what things can bring out judgement in one person, but not in another?

I thought it looked good when I saw the preview during IT. Originally I wanted to see it but when I started reading reviews I changed my mind. It's a shame because it's a great cast. I'll probably catch it on DVD.

Actually, I was more disturbed and worried before the movie started because I didn't know exactly what to expect and thought that there would be more blatant sex than there was. We did get up a move a few seats down (recliners). The movie was way more violent in a disturbing way than I expected but also was just not even anything that a child would be interested in theme wise. He spent a large part of the movie with his face buried in his moms chest. I think I need a dose of Steve Carrell and Emma Stone and some tennis!!

With the re-release of the Disney princess movies I've seen more movies in the past month then I have in the past couple years! My dds are both Disney movie fans so I've enjoyed a movie a week with one or both of them. First Beauty and the Beast, then Mulan and Tangled. We still have The Princess and the Frog and Brave It's been fun having time with my 18 and 28 yr old dds

DH and I went to see American Made tonight. Neither one of us really cared for this movie. That's disappointing to hear- the trailer made it look really good and I was wanting to see it. Maybe we'll wait for Redbox for this one and save some $$.

We went to Battle of the Sexes. Enjoyed it but I do like both Steve Carell and Emma Stone a lot. The story was interesting and I learned a lot about this time in history...the movie had some amusing parts but was definitely a drama.
It definitely focused on Billie Jean King and I would have like to have seen a little more about Bobby Riggs and more in depth personality study. However, thumbs up for a nice retelling of a historical rivalry - a solid B!

Good story, some laughs, some action, etc. it was interesting to see the historical aspects of this. I really don’t like Tom Cruise much but with The Mummy and this one he is growing on me.

I went to see Loving Vincent over the weekend and we just loved it. It took 6 years of handpainting every scene - it was a beautiful film to watch and it also had an interesting true story line about the last few days of Vincent Van Gogh's life. 5 Stars

Marshall looks amazing. Lisa Both DH and I loved the movie!! The cast was wonderful including Matthew from Downton Abbey as the prosecutor and Sterling K. Brown from This Is Us as the defendant. And there was just enough humor to keep it balanced.
