Today we saw Red Sparrow. I could not get into it. It was definitely not what I expected as it was soooooo slow.

We loved Red Sparrow and didn't find it slow at all. It was very brutal, lots of nudity and twists and turns so that you never know what is going to happen. Two thumbs up!

My daughter and I saw A Wrinkle in Time - she loved it and I thought it was boring and too shiny.
Enjoyed Game Night. I thought the first half was stronger - I couldn't stop giggling in two particular scenes. Second half lost steam. Delighted in seeing Coach and Landry in the same movie.

I know it’s not a new movie, but I saw Wonder last week and loved it so much. I lost count of how many times it made me teary eyed.
During the Summer we go to the Drive-In movie, but I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie in the theater. I am hoping to go this week and see A Wrinkle In Time with my adult DD.
I wish we could go in the morning because by the time evening gets here I’m sleepy, it’s cold out and I don’t feel like getting back out. I also may fall asleep in the theater! Can’t wait for Spring.

I rented Creed from Netflix DVD que to listen to while working (some of my tasks at work are pretty repetitive, and my employer is fine with headphones) I often listen to movies I could go either way on sometimes finding one that I want to go back and watch uninterrupted. I'm pleasantly surprised, I'm not a boxing or Rocky fan but what a great film. I can see why Ryan Coogler went on to do Black Panther.

I finally saw "Black Panther" a couple of nights ago and I really liked it. I was in awe of the costumes the whole time - wow!

Last weekend we saw The Strangers Prey at Night and Death Wish. The Strangers was cheeeeeesy. We didn’t like it. I never saw any of the original Death Wish movies but I enjoyed this one.

I watched The Shape of Water and totally missed what others were seeing in this movie. I couldn't find anything redeeming about this movie. It felt so manipulative and obvious-nothing subtle at all. What did others get out of this? I put this on the top 5 most painful movies to sit through.

I saw Love, Simon over the weekend. The friends I went with loved it but I just thought it was ok (good but not great). I took three 13 year old girls to this last Saturday. They all loved it. I enjoyed watching them enjoy it. Probably gonna take a van full of teens to see the Gnome movie tomorrow night.

I saw Game Night after work today. Literally laughed out loud a few times-I didn’t expect it to have so much action-I really liked it a lot.

We just saw Unsane with Claire Foy (The Crown) ~ what a wild ride! The movie is about a young woman (Foy) who is involuntarily committed to a mental institution where she is confronted by her greatest fear - but is it real or is it a product of her delusion?

I was thinking of seeing this but just wasn't sure - I do like psychological thrillers in general so I think I might check this out.

I saw "I Can Only Imagine." Twice. I loved it and thought it was very well done. It is a strong Christian movie, in case that wasn't obvious. Lisa

My DS wanted to go see Isle of Dogs and it is in limited release. Nearest theater showing it was an hour+ away, in Milwaukee. He was going to drive/go but his car was not ready in time (brake job and bolt puncture in tire) so I drove and caught the show, too.
I really enjoyed it. More so than I would have expected. Simple cute story line but it was the visual that got me. And the humor...both visual and spoken. Like when there is a dog fight you see a pile of cotton-like dust/smoke with random arms and legs sticking out like in comics, except with motion.

The past couple of weeks I have been watching a lot of movies on my wish list:
1) I, Tonya - it was good, but after all the positive reviews I expected it to be better.
2) Greatest Hour - ugggh, put me to sleep
3) LadyBird - slow moving, but I did enjoy this one. The acting was great by everyone.
4) Black Panther- DH and I both enjoyed it a lot.
5) Psycho (the original) - I just finished watching Bates Motel (sooooo good!) and was curious to see the movie. Kinda lame now, but I can see how back then it was horrifying.
6) Get Out - I am not a horror movie fan in the least, but something was nagging at me to watch this. SO glad I did...I liked it a lot!!

We went to see the modern horror thriller A QUIET PLACE about a family who must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you. Starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, it didn't disappoint! Lots of jump-out-of-your-seat or hold-your-breath moments! My kind of movie!

Just don't get a huge bucket of popcorn because it will be very loud in the theater. The young girl who plays their daughter is actually deaf. Emily Blunt is incredible at showing different emotions on her face without uttering a word.

Lately I've seen Love, Simon; A Quiet Place, and Blockers. Enjoyed all of them!
Bonus for A Quiet Place was that it was filmed around where I live.

I read that Emily Blunt did the entire bathtub scen in one take and the second the director(her husband) yelled cut, she was instantly out of character and asked,” What’s for lunch?” 😂 Her acting was amazing in it.
