In the past two weeks we’ve seen Love, Simon, A Quiet Place, Blockers and Miracle Season. (Oh how I love Movie Pass!). We actually enjoyed all of them. Blockers was what I call a theater funny movie. It was funny in the theater with a bunch of people around but I’m not sure I would laugh so much if I was watching it for the first time in my living room. Miracle Season - not the best acting but that’s ok. I cried throughout most of the movie but i did enjoy it.

Went to Quiet Place today. It was good - something different, we really enjoyed it. Saw some upcoming previews that looked good as well.

Just watched The Shape of Water over the past few days while on my treadmill. I found it interesting and maddening at the same time.

Lately I've seen Love, Simon; A Quiet Place, and Blockers. Enjoyed all of them! Bonus for A Quiet Place was that it was filmed around where I live. I saw Blockers this weekend and loved it! It was so funny and I really enjoyed it.

We just got back from seeing Beirut with Jon Hamm. Love me some Don Draper! It was a pretty good thriller but you definitely had to pay attention ~ no dozing.

Went to see "Lean on Pete" and was very disappointed. The trailer made it look like an inspirational movie about a boy and a horse, but it went downhill quickly.

We went to The Rider this weekend. It was a slow moving yet touching story about a guy who has gotten injured doing rodeo work. This is not an action movie. It takes place in South Dakota on (or near) a reservation and casted real people. We liked it and I'm glad we went.

We just got back from seeing Rampage with Dwayne *The Rock* Johnson. Totally ridiculous but really fun! George the Gorilla was so funny.

We saw The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society last week. I really enjoyed it. It was quite true to the book although they did leave quite a bit out...which is understandable because they can't put everything in, but I think they managed to keep the whole spirit of the book. I was kind of glad they left out a lot about: the concentration camp, as I think that would have made it a bit too depressing. They mentioned it but not in the detail of the book Most of the main characters were from Downton Abbey, so that's fun if you enjoyed the series. I thought as actors they did a really good job. I enjoyed it and would recommend it, and I think both those who did and didn't read the book would like it equally.

are you able to see 3d or Imax with movie pass, if you pay the difference? thanks I don't know for sure but I don't think so. I think if you want to see IMAX or 3D, you have to pay regular prices and can't use the movie pass at all but I'm not 100% sure about that.

For some reason, DH thought that Deadpool was coming out this Friday instead of next. He thought he was going to have to get a refund on our tix because he didn't I would be able to make it due to my recent surgery. Last night he sees the commercial that said the 18th so we are in the clear. And I thought I had anesthesia brain. Lol

We saw Bad Samaritan yesterday. No one has probably ever hear of it, we hadn't. Although a lot of critics panned it, I LOVE jump-out-of-my-seat scary movies and I was jumping quite a bit! And David Tennant played the villain to perfection!

Here's the gist: A guy who is a petty thief breaks into a house and discovers something. His conundrum: if he calls the police they will want to know why he was in the house. I'd say it ranks about a 7 on the violence scale.
