Just got back from Ocean's 8. We both enjoyed it but agreed we liked Ocean's Eleven better more. I loved it! Ocean’s 11 was the best, 12 was awful, but 13 was much better. I would put 8 between 11 and 13. It was a fun cast. The only thing I wish is that Danny Ocean, and/or Julia Roberts had made an appearance. If this one does well enough, maybe they will!

I'm going to see Hereditary tonight. Looking forward to it! What did you think? I want to go see it on Thursday with DH.

At the end, when she was sitting on the bench drinking the martini, I half expected George Clooney to walk up behind her ~ thus leaving it open for a combined Ocean's movie in the future!

I'm going to see Hereditary tonight. Looking forward to it! What did you think? I want to go see it on Thursday with DH. I liked it, but I think my expectations were too high. I kept seeing articles about how it's the best horror in years, revolutionary, etc. I didn't feel that way, though it was certainly worth seeing.

We just got back from seeing Solo. I had low expectations from what I had read online but all 3 of us enjoyed it!

Just got back from watching Hereditary....I thought it was awful. Toni Collette's acting was amazing as she usually is but I thought the story line was ridiculous. DH and I both looked at each other after the movie was over and thought WTF?

DH and I both looked at each other after the movie was over and thought WTF? I saw her interviewed and thought it looked like a good idea for a movie. I hate horror/suspense so I will never see it, but I do want to know what was the hereditary part of it was.

Tonight, DH and I are going old school. We are watching Sixteen Candles for the billionth time and it is still freaking hilarious!

Went to see Tag today with Jon Hamm and Jeremy Penner. Honestly, I thought they showed most of the best parts in the previews. It devolved into a bunch of locker-room crude talk that just wasn't funny to us. Some people were laughing but not a lot. To me, it's just unnecessary. I'm getting old.

Just got back from Jurassic World and we both enjoyed it. I was surprised to see Geraldine Chaplin in the movie. She is a daughter of Charlie Chaplin and pretty much got her start in Doctor Zhivago.

I went to see the Incredibles 2 last night. I thought it was really good, especially Jack-Jack The short film they showed before it (Bao) was so sweet.

We saw Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom a couple of days ago. It was good and they of course set it up at the end for another one. This isn't a spoiler but the scene where they are on the island and the volcano is exploding was INTENSE! My heart was actually racing and I was just sitting there. Originally we were going to see 3D IMAX but changed our minds at the last minute. I'm kind of glad we did, I don't know if I could have taken an extra intensity! Can I just add...Chris Pratt

This past weekend we saw Uncle Drew, which we thought was funny. It was slightly predictable but we enjoyed it. We also saw American Animals. My DH really liked it but I thought it was eh, ok. It was really slooooooow though. We saw a 2:00 showing of it and the guy behind me fell asleep after the first half hour or so and was snoring.
Tomorrow we’re going to see The Purge and I can’t wait! I love these movies!

I just watched Tag. I know there was a thread specifically dedicated to this movie but all the search things I tried I came up empty. The language didn't bother me but I found the movie boring. I was so wanting to enjoy it but I found I forcing myself to watch it. Now the trailer for the movie was hilarious.

Won't You Be My Neighbor - not bad, but overhyped unless you had serious nostalgic memories of watching Mr. Rogers. Weak storyline, even for a documentary.
Whitney - really good. Strong story arc (sadly) and amazing footage and interviews. I was a little young to be a big Whitney Houston fan, but old enough to know she was a super star, so this really helped me understand her life. I did think they left out one important questionable character based on my reading and important comments from Bobby Brown (Nick Gordon).
Going to see Three Identical Strangers on Sunday. Weekend of documentaries!

We saw Oceans 8 - it was good but with such a great cast, I think I was expecting more.
One thing I thought was off in the story was ... when they took the necklace off Ann Hathaway's character when she was sick and in the bathroom, she seemed to not have noticed they took it off.
So...why didn't they just slip the fake one on her at that time too? Instead of hiding it in the fountain, breaking up the necklace into different jewelry parts in all that. To answer your spoiler question Remember that it was not just the one necklace that they were stealing. They needed the distraction of the "theft" to ensure that the room was emptied and that everyone's attention was on finding the "lost" necklace so that they could go in the room to switch out all the display pieces.

Thanks - I did kind of think that (later) and that makes a bit more sense

I've been to a couple.
Won't you be my Neighbor - documentary. I liked this since I knew a little about Mr. Rogers but not a lot. Plus it was under 90 minutes so didn't seem too long. It was worth seeing (7/10 is my rating)
Leave No Trace - Father and daughter live in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. This was an affecting movie in some ways but also very slow moving. If you like independent dramas it may be for you. I think the director also directed Winter's Bone a few years ago which I didn't love. The acting was very good. (6/10 is my rating)

Saw ant man on Friday. It was ok.
Saw Sicario on Saturday and loved it! Get intense movie and as good as the first one was, the second one is better. Benicio del Toro is bad ass. I really hope they make a third one.

YDD was home this weekend and convinced us to watch When We First Met on Netflix. Too long but very funny. Yeah, she knows what her parents can handle. And yet.. I yam still trying to get her to watch Lara Croft Tomb Raider (2018). WHY did that movie do so poorly? or did it

We got passes for a pre-screening of Mamma Mia 2
We thought the younger versions of the characters were well cast and enjoyed both the current and flashback stories

Skyscraper was a good movie. Very Dwayne Johnson kind of action film. This weekend we will be watching Equalizer 2. I'm looking forward too that. I really liked the first one. It made me a Denzel fan.

Went to the Incredibles. I had never seem the first one so it was all new to me. I thought the first 1/2 was kind of draggy but it picked up in the second half. They kids were cute but the story line wasn't that engaging (IMO). The audience seemed to love it though and I made it through!

I also saw Skyscraper. To me, it's the perfect summer flick -- lots of action! I plan to see Equalizer 2 either this weekend or next as well. Loved the first one.
