I also saw Skyscraper. To me, it's the perfect summer flick -- lots of action! I plan to see Equalizer 2 either this weekend or next as well. Loved the first one. Lisa We saw Skyscraper yesterday. As you said, the perfect summer movie! Dh and I did laugh-out-loud at some of the stuff they did. I might buy a copy of the movie Towering Inferno with Paul Newman and Steve McQueen as DH has never seen it. It was one of my favorite disaster movies from the 70's!

I hadn’t seen the first one so dh filled me in on the history. I enjoyed it more then I thought I would. I wanted to see Jurassic World I have to say that Sicario was a surprise fave for us. So glad we saw it. We actually watched the first one again last night to see what we missed. We found the first one at WalMart in the $5. bin marked down to $3.74

Skyscraper was a good movie. Very Dwayne Johnson kind of action film. This weekend we will be watching Equalizer 2. I'm looking forward too that. I really liked the first one. It made me a Denzel fan. We have tickets to see it tomorrow! Neve Campbell plays his wife and it's really good to see her back on the big screen.

Towering Inferno has some truly horrifying parts to it. Robert Wagner and his girlfriend get roasted alive and I think they end up jumping from the building or being burned alive. That scene has stayed with me for decades now.

I saw Jurassic World today and enjoyed it in the way of summer blockbusters. The previous movie was probably better, but I liked that this one told a different story and wasn't just a repeat.

I saw Mamma Mia tonight and liked it. I do think the first one had the better songs, but this one had its moments. It looked like it was lots of fun to film...all the group dancing just looks like so much fun! I enjoyed seeing the old crew, and wow, Lily James as the young Donna was outstanding. She was adorable! I think I have a girl crush! The ending was sweet, and stay past the credits for a final (short) snippet.
I saw Skyscraper last week and that was good too. It’s not hard to watch Dwayne Johnson for a couple of hours and I agree with others in this thread that Neve Campbell was great

I finally saw Deadpool 2 - I enjoyed it even more than the first one. Of course they left it open for a sequel (X-Force)

Mission Impossible Fallout was a fun fun movie! right when you think they can't amp up the stunts any more, they do! and Tom Cruise is the embodiment of Benjamin Buttons. he must be drinking the blood of unicorns because that guy just doesn't slow down as he gets older.

The kids and I saw Won't You Be My Neighbor? this afternoon. We all truly enjoyed it. I remember watching it in the early years 69 on through the 1970s. When my kids were young Mr. Rogers was one of the few shows I would allow (although they qere reruns). I was surprised they remembered that.
I heard stories of people ugly crying at this movie, although I'm not sure why they would. I got teary, and so did DS(17), but in a good way.
I have to say I so admire that man. He was one of the truly good people in this world. He seemed to want to bring good into the world and and is such a wonderful example of loving each other and being KIND. We need more of that in this world.

We just got home from the movie. It was great! The stunts never cease to amaze us and I always love the masks! Those remind me of the TV series which I loved! On another note: I think the young woman sitting next to DH was recording the movie. When the lights came up she was hurriedly doing something with some cords/wires and her cellphone and putting them into a cloth bag.

I saw it last weekend too. Good action flick and getting to stare at Henry Cavill for 2.5 hours was a nice way to spend evening. Lol. I couldn’t help but cringe at the jump where he broke his ankle in real life. It shows him limp for a few steps after then cuts to him running normal. They had to halt filming for 2 months.

We saw 2 movies last week
Skyscraper - which was a great action movie but at times felt myself thinking "no way could anyone make that jump" - haha
Mission Impossible: Fallout - so good - best MI yet! But I say that every time and every time it is true - each one just outshines the previous one. Just a great, entertaining movie.

Saw The Spy Who Dumped Me tonight - despite it being a Tuesday evening, the theater was almost full and I heard LOTS of people laughing out loud.
I thought it was funny and a good story (with too many F-Bombs though-I assume to get the R instead of PG-13 rating).

I get so tired of that so we spent our money on Ant Man.

I saw Eight Grade. What a fabulous movie. It had both my husband and I crying. It is refreshing to see a coming of age story that features a girl. And it is also refreshing that this young girl wasn't obsessing over a guy or trying to fit in with the mean girls. link to the trailer

Saw Christopher Robin with my sister and we both loved it - we have always loved Winnie the Pooh characters our whole lives.
We weren’t sure that small kids would like it though - not sure it would hold their interest

Went to see the movie Searching this afternoon. I loved it. DH, who isn't as computer savvy as I am, liked it but didn't love it like I did. The premise is a man's daughter goes missing and he has to find clues using her social media platforms. Many good lessons for parents, and kids, to learn from this movie!

Both of those look great - I especially want to see A Simple Favor since I have seen various versions of a Star is Born before (but this new version looks really good)

My most recent movie was Slender Man, a request from my niece who is my movie partner. We had to drive about 30 miles farther to get to a theater playing it and while it wasn't a great movie. We enjoyed it for what it was. A good scare which we appreciated, so often nowadays scary movies are more gory rather than scary and gore doesn't scare us lol.

I saw "A Simple Favor" this week and thought the premise was good and it was pretty suspenseful in some places but I was disappointed with the ending - not how it ended but the way it flowed - it was a bit silly (to me). It was almost like they were trying to turn it into a black comedy at the end instead of the suspenseful thriller that the rest of the movie had been.
I still enjoyed it though. I think the next movie I want to see is "The House with a Clock in Its Walls"
