Saw Just Mercy today. Two thumbs way up! Well acted but heartbreaking. This one is on my list. I think Michael B. Jordan is a delight to watch.

We saw Parasite last weekend. If you enjoy unconventional drama\comedy\horror type movies that are subtitled, you may like this movie. I liked it quite a bit especially as it was something different and unexpected.

I watched Troop Zero on Amazon Prime last night. It’s wonderful! The story is great-if you have ever been a scout, or run a troop it is INCREDIBLY relatable. Also if you’ve ever wanted something so badly in your whole life, or you feel like you don’t fit in anywhere, you will understand how the main characters feel.
I cried at the end. It’s got a great ending. A mix of happy and sad.
I wanted to punch Allison Janney in the face, and I want Viola Davis in all of the movies that I watch forever. 🥰 And Mckenna Grace is a force-she is a crazy good actress and she’s only 13! And who knew Jim Gaffigan could actually act!?!?

Saw Just Mercy today. Two thumbs way up! Well acted but heartbreaking. This is on my list too. We saw 1917 which was excellent and Bad Boys which was a tad too long but fun.

I saw Dolittle Friday night. It was good but a bit more childish than I was expecting. Also RDJs accent was distracting and honestly a bit weird. The visuals were great, some good laughs and loved the animals.
Watched Troop Zero this weekend too. Great movie with a great class. I was that awkward weird girl and I was in Campfire so I could relate A LOT!

I saw JoJo Rabbit yesterday. I didn't know anything about, but am on my annual attempt to see all of the Best Picture nominees. Oh my goodness - I loved it! Very different movie with great acting. It does make you laugh and cry. Highly recommend.

I watched Marriage Story on Netflix (Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson). It is very well done, and all the actors play their parts wonderfully. Adam Driver is particularly compelling, esp. in one scene in his new home.
But this movie is depressing as hell. If you want to watch a movie about people going through a divorce, this is for you! i dont know what I expected.

Just came home from seeing "PARASITE". I loved it. I knew very little about it going in so it was a pleasant surprise. It took twists I was not expecting. I did not find the sub-titles distracting at all. After a while you don't even notice that you are reading the lines. You are too taken in by the story to notice. Two thumbs way up from me.

I saw Little Women yesterday... By some of the comments I heard, I think some viewers in the theater had problems following along with the jumps back and forth in time, but since I've read the books at least 25-30 times, I had no issues with that. Besides a couple parts that I thought were miscast, I really liked it. I want to reread the book again to check whether a few things were actually in the book or *added* to the movie script, but I thought it was pretty faithful to the storyline in the book. And the sets, costumes, etc. were very well done. I liked the film. We saw it Christmas Day. And like you I’ve read the book a few times and seen the other films so it was easy for me to follow the jumps. But I can see how others would be confused. Timothy Chalamet as Laurie was not a good fit. He was too puny and mild. Did not love the actress playing Amy for that role. I like her okay, she just wasn’t right for the character. Also saw Little Women. We went today. I absolutely LOVED it. If anything, my issue with the casting is that all the women looked too old to play the 'seven years ago,' part to me; I didn't care, though because I was enthralled. I completely forgot how much I was captivated by the book and the Winona Ryder version of the movie. And I love this version even more. I do think even if you know the book, the movie is a tad confusing. Specifically, since the book itself is semi autobiographical, and it seems to be Jo March in that publisher/editor's office, which parts are meant to be the fictional Jo's life, and which are meant to be author-of-Little-Women-Jo's real life? There's a whole debate about the end of the movie and whether jo really marries Fredrich. And yes, I know the book cover, when we see it, says Louisa May Alcott.... Still, they are the same person in this reimagining, and Louisa May Alcott is meant to be Jo's pseudonym. There was a meta element added by showing the scenes in Dashwood's office that makes it tricky that makes you question which parts are a retelling of the book and which parts are the author's life outside the book. I love that, because it's a different approach, rather than just a retelling. I imagine this paragraph is a mess; its late and I can't sleep. Gerwig needs to win best adapted screenplay. I'm furious she wasn't nominated for best director. I actually loved the cast. Don't remember the book well enough to recognize if the casting was off. I thought Timothee C was wonderful, and the actress who played Amy made her much more sympathetic than she had been at times. I loved that. I bought them ending up together far more than I did in the Winona Ryder version. Part of that is how much chemistry the two had. if anyone was miscast, it was Fredrich B. He was too young; Gabriel Byrne played him in the last version. In the book he's older by quite a bit. This guy looked basically the same age as her. But his accent was sexy, he was gorgeous, they had chemistry, and thus I don't care.

We watched The Gentlemen Friday night. Wholeheartedly enjoyed it. This movie has great characters and a good deal of humor. Do not be late or it might not make sense. If you detest the C word also be forewarned that it’s pretty prevalent in this movie. It’s based in England and apparently is used much more frequently there according to an article I read. It’s a fun movie about some proper gentlemen bad guys.

We saw The Last Full Measure yesterday. I thought it was excellent and we both really enjoyed it. I wanted to see it purely based on the cast: William Hurt, Ed Harris, Christopher Plummer, Samuel Jackson, Peter Ford and so on. I didn't realize it was based on a true story which just made it all the more powerful.

I had such a blast with them! Cindy

I watched Long Shot last night. It has Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron in it. Charlize plays a Secretary of State who decides to run for President. Seth plays a journalist/speech writer.
It is very funny, and is actually a pretty sweet love story. Also pokes a lot of fun at current politics. 😉. Um...it is kind of raunchy. 😄.

I just saw “The Windermere Children”. Oh my goodness. I don’t usually get emotional over movies but this one knocked the stuffing out of me. A simple film with wonderful acting which brought home the strength and fortitude of children who survived the Holocaust. I cannot recommend this movie enough.

My husband and I saw Uncut Gems on the weekend. My husband thought Adam Sandler played that role really well but hated the story. He was stressed out most the time about how he lived his life on the edge of one disaster to the next. He also couldn't take the frantic pace. I thought it was really good. Adam just signed a Netflix deal to do 4 more movies. I hope they are as good as this one.

I thought Adam Sandler was excellent in the role. He can do more than comedy.

I saw Bad Boys last weekend. It was good, typical cop action, lots of old jokes from the first two movies etc. The story felt a bit forced. But it was classic Smith and Martin.
Tonight I saw Birds of Prey. Freaking loved it! Like badass loved it.

I'm going to try posting here, because we've seen a few movies in the past 2 weeks. We saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Ford Vs. Ferrari and finally, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.
UPTIH was very different, but entertaining. Knowing the Manson history I see why the title is as-is. I liked it, but I'm still scratching my head.
Ford Vs. Ferrari was a good movie, but not the type of movie I typically enjoy.
I loved ABDITNBHD. I was very teary eyed twd the end and highly recommend it. The calm and peaceful demeanor of Fred Rodgers enabled others to open up and heal from deep wounds. Loved this movie.
