Yeah. Only to say I'm voting for him because he's not HER. Or that they are Republican and HAVE TO. I've posted several times asking what's so great about him and nothing but crickets. Not one response I've seen lists any positive attributes that he is the person who should be elected. I can't give any positive attributes to Hillary either. So here's what I said on another thread - I don't know anyone voting for Trump who is doing so because they love him. They just think that he's going to screw things up in a different direction than Hillary. I consider it a case of "do you want to bend over and get screwed this way or that way." Both ways suck, but one is worse in your mind than the other. It's the same bullcrap answer as "he's not her". I'm asking to try, for once to list out positive attributes to the candidate of your choice, instead of discrediting another party candidate.

Trump calls American-born judge ‘a Mexican,’ points out ‘my African American’ at a rally wapo.st/20YawWdIt's like he's trying to be as offensive as possible so people HAVE to vote for Hillary...the more outrageous he becomes, the more it looks to me like the Clintons and Trump are actually working together to get Hill in office. If this pans out, and is true, I'll have won the pool at work!! Lol

Oh and for the supreme hypocrisy, people berate Trump for his name-calling but then turn around and do exactly the same thing themselves. Exactly! It's not even worth posting in these thread anymore

I understand why people would not be willing to vote for Hillary or for Bernie. I can even understand the people who are willing to vote for him just because he is NOT Hillary. But I still haven't seen a clear answer on why people actually like and support him. My DH is a Republican. He is voting for Hillary if she is nominated. My mom is a Republican who doesn't vote. She is voting Democrat this year. My SIL is a Republican who is sitting out the election. My in-laws have both said they will probably write in a candidate. And my Born Again, military family member is in a panic because she never expected him to get the nomination. My cousin, on the other hand, loves him. She wants him as President so he brings jobs back to the US. Nevermind that he hires more foreign workers at his Mar-A-lago estate or that his clothing is made in China and Mexico. If I have one gripe that I have leveled against all those, past and present, running for president is they are being less then honest to the American voter when they say they will bring all those jobs back to this country. They aren't coming back or if some do return they will be just above minimum wage jobs. Technology and globalization have eliminated a bunch. When I talk about globalization I'm not talking about some call center in India I am talking about companies who's greatest potential for growth is outside this country so they staff where the potential growth is. Politicians talk about bringing those nice manufacturing jobs back to the US. Well those jobs are coming back but because of technology they need fewer employees to do the job. And a lot of the ones coming back are setting up shop in right to work states which means they aren' t union jobs. I read an article about several manufacturing plants that settled in right to work states and these plants are paying their employees about $11 an hour. Now manufacturing jobs have in the past paid living wage salaries with benefits. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand you can't raise a family if the main bread earner is making $11 an hour. There has been no talk from any of the candidates about how technology and globalization has affected the job market and their plans to counteract it. So to those who are voting because their candidate is going to bring back those jobs are going to be disappointed.

I don't think they can. But it doesn't mean that either group of supporters is "stupid" as you claim.

I don't get it either. I get not liking Hillary - my husband can't stand her. But he's going to hold his Reagan Democrat nose and vote for her because the thought of Trump having his finger on the nuclear trigger is terrifying. He's impulsive, irrational and stupid. He seriously could bring us to nuclear armageddon. I wish I was using hyperbole. You do realize that while he can call for a nuclear attack it takes two people to finalize the actual act. Also, there are numerous safe guards in place so a president can't throw a hot-headed temper tantrum and just push the button. It wouldn't have to be him/us bringing the nuclear attack. I seriously am worried that if he is elected, it is just a matter of time until we are in a war with no allies. Who that war would be with is up for grabs.

I have been trying to figure out a way to ask this question without wandering off into the weeds, but so far I can't figure it out and I guess I am just going to ask?
I listened to Mr. Trump's interview yesterday with Jake Tapper where they discussed the Trump University lawsuit and the comments sounded about the judge sounded pretty racist to me. Mr. Trump insisted that they weren't, but try as I might I am not seeing it. I saw the whole interview, so the comments weren't sound bites taken out of context, and I guess I am wondering how else his words could have been interpreted?

that could be. However, I refuse to buy into the idea that some have that Europe will abandon us if Trump's elected. It would be completely against their self-interest to break ties with the US, regardless of who the president is. And no matter the hooplah about banning him from England, it's all just nonsense.

I'm succumbing to the idea that we, as a Canadian, may very well be dealing with a Trump presidency. From that perspective, realistically, you are right. We hate what he guy stands for. We loathe him as an individual. But yes, there are certain things (Keystone is a huge one) that will be in our best interests to have him. On the other side of that, I do think Trump will cause diminished allied relationships, overall. But it isn't just Trump. We aren't a fan of Clinton either. The world is looking on and cringing at this presidential race. (I can't believe I agree with you so much today, Lauren. It must be end of days or something )

I didn't say it was only possible if the U.S. struck first, I was simply replying to the comment about TRUMP pushing the button. I didn't think Peabay's post said it was about Trump pushing the button. Just that the possibility of him causing a nuclear armaggedon is very real. I'll have to go back and re-read. Does it not worry you that Trump would incite another country with an unstable leader to strike first (like N. Korea for example); with some of his insults, comments, threats, etc?

Like most people I have definite opinions regarding all of the candidates. In the end all I can do is voice my opinion through my personal vote in November. Very well said.

I'm an independent and could go either way any other election year but this. DT is a racist, bigoted bully. I don't understand how people can vote for him knowing what he is. Are there that many other racist, bigoted bullies in our United States of America? If so, we really haven't grown as a country like we thought we had over the last 50 years or so.
I could not vote for someone if his true beliefs are that different than mine. I have to say that I'm sad to see so many Republicans voting for him, which either means they think like him or they are compromising their beliefs because he has the R after his name. I know Paul Ryan took a few weeks to come around to Donald, but what does he tell his children? It's okay to be a racist, bigoted bully as long as you are running for President and are Republican. My hats off to the Bushes, Lindsey Graham and the others who do not support DT.

Trump calls American-born judge ‘a Mexican,’ points out ‘my African American’ at a rally wapo.st/20YawWd How can anyone vote for someone who let FOUR of our men DIE? Or someone who offers FREE stuff via OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY?I don't mean to discount those men's lives in ANY way. Of course their lives matter. But how many people are going to die if/when/as soon as Trump takes office? How long will it take before we're attacked as a nation in some way? What about the riots that he's pretty much requested to happen?
As for other people's money, Trump has been VERY clear of his pride in screwing his employees, business partners, communities, pretty much everyone he's ever done a business deal with, out of their money - and many of them their livelihood. He brags about it all the time.
To be clear, I'm apolitical and don't give a flip what "party" any of them "represents". That means absolutely nothing to me. I am not a Clinton supporter, nor am I a Clinton hater. I would feel this way no matter who he was running against.
To the o/p - I don't get it, either. He's an embarrassment to the human race. I don't consider myself overly intelligent or superior, but I'm finding myself incredibly disgruntled that not only did people not laugh him out of the race from the beginning, they're actually going to vote for him.

Well, I firmly believe that if Trump gets elected, the number of deaths on Americans will be much higher than four, if not every single one of us when he starts a nuclear war in a dick measuring contest. I wish I'd read down farther before posting my comment. You said it way better than I did.

Typical liberal bullshit "think like I think or else you must be stupid." It's amazing how into her Laurent the self-appointed tolerant ones are. Of course that tolerance only extends to people who think like they do. And it's amazing how people who are such hypocrites themselves can point the finger at somebody else. I'm out of here.nobody here is the least bit interested in understanding anything about the other side. Post like this are done only so that they can continue to tell those who don't think like they do have stupid uninformed and wrong they are. If the Republicans had picked one of the other 16 candidates as nominee then the discussion would be about the difference in policy between the two parties with the Republicans going on how could the Democrats chose someone as untrustworthy as Hillary and the Democrats wondering why would the Republicans pick someone as extreme as Cruz, or as inexperienced as Rubio, or why would anyone want to elect Jeb since he only wants to reinstate his brothers failed policies. Normal political blabbing.
But we are past that with Trump. Its not about his policies it's about his temperament. It's becoming clearer and clearer that Trump is an unstable paranoid petty fool who does not have the temperament to be President of the most powerful country in the world. This is an observation felt by other Republicans, Democrats, & world leaders.
So by all means stomp off claiming nobody wants to understand. I think rational people understand all too well about Trump and his supporters. YES! To me it's about common sense. (But maybe it's me that doesn't have any. I'm beginning to wonder what I'm missing.)

I am not a Trump support. I actually said in a previous post that I plan to curl up in the fetal position and cry in November. I do not like any of the candidates. I actually own a shirt that says Fallon/Timberlake 2016. My point is that with all the belittling people are doing to Trump supporters, it is highly unlikely that a civilized conversation with a Trump supporter will occur. I like to have respectful conversations, even with people with different views than mine. Apparently, you don't. Why is it bad if a regular person tells it like it is, using the word stupid, but when Trump says crap like this he's Mr Awesome? I've heard "he just says what we're thinking" countless times. He regularly calls people stupid so it must be ok for everyone else. There no longer will be respectful conversations, that when out the door when Trump opened it. everyone but me is stupidSaveSaveThis is what scares me so much. Are there really people who are thinking like him? Enough of them to get him elected as president? If so we're doomed with or without him.

That is all that Donald Trump does – he constantly belittles others. He is a master at it. He is setting the example for all of us… That doesn't mean that we should stoop to his level. If it's not ok when he's doing it, then it's not ok when you or I am doing it. Good grief. Can't we just stop all this and start trying to understand the way that people we disagree with are thinking? FFS, we might find out we all want a lot of the same things, but we're never going to know if all everyone is doing is sinking to the the "he/she said it first" or "if they do it, I'm going to do it too" level. It's rampant on BOTH sides and it needs to stop. Completely agree!

Stating an opinion that you think there would be riots, is not calling for riots. With all of the riots we've experienced lately when people don't like something, it's an opinion based on experience.

I find it really stretching to say the riots are Trumps fault. People are rioting because they want to and they are making the choice to. He is not telling them to, he is not directing them to, he is not causing it. If he was directing it, causing it or making them then the riots would be at the other candidates events, not his own.

The excuse to vote for Trump over Hillary, just because he isn't Hillary, is pretty irresponsible behavior. A friend of mine recently said, "I'd vote for a monkey before I'd vote for Hillary!" Well, please - vote for the damn monkey, not an orange orangutan just to spite your face! Why not do a little research, maybe write in a candidate that you feel is more representative of your beliefs and values. Just because he "isn't Hillary" is not a reason to vote for this dangerous person. Have a little self-respect and act like an responsible adult citizen - give your vote to someone - anyone- who really is up for the task. *Anyone's hand I miss slapping?*
