Reading the comments on sneak peaks posted threads, I'm seeing a lot of non-love for donuts, hamburgers, giraffes, grandma sofas, etc.
So, what is it that we do want?
Can we name it?
Surely someone, somewhere in the industry comes around, looking for ideas, taking notes as to what the consumer wants. Let's tell them.
I want an "Our Year" line. A line meant to be used to scrapbook a whole year of our lives without solely focusing on travel, or one specific topic. Something very universal.
Have papers that coordinate.
Have stickers, chipboard, embellishments that have phrases on it like : Birthday, Anniversary, Family Dinner, A Day Out....
Plus holidays: Valentine's Day, New Year's Day, New Year's Eve, Christmas, Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Chanukah, Fourth of July, Halloween, etc
Embellishments like: Various arrows, color-coordinated enamel dots, matching alphabets & numbers, etc.
Also, on another note of things I want manufacturers to bring us: Alphabets sold by the letter. A sheet of E's. A Sheet of L's. I guarantee this would sell well.
So, what do you want?

Wow, this is a great question! The first thing that comes to mind, and is along the lines of what you suggested, is this thread -- supplies for everyday life! I'm kind of tired of the whole inspirational-quotes-everywhere trend.

The biggest thing I want is more variety. It seems like everything looks the same. If you are not into the current trends, you're out of luck. Plus I don't like being too matchy matchy so there's that too.

This is a great question! I really liked your other thread as well. I was just thinking about this yesterday after it seemed like I was posting "not really me" or "I am going to pass on this collection" for all the new lines. There really isn't anything new that I am just dying to have (up to this point) and it made me think...what DO I want? I feel like everything is almost TOO TRENDY...or maybe I should say that it seems like so many designers are 'forcing' trends and trying too hard to make things trendy. Having said that, I love trendy to a point but not as much as I love a classic collection that can be used for several occasions, emotions, events etc. A versatile collection maybe? Idk how to explain it. Just something that's not so specific. I saw the Bella Blvd sneaks yesterday and there may be something there I would like. I am also not a pink/girly girl and it seems like everything is drenched in pink.

Timeless collections would be great. That's why Ali's kits/products appeal to me. They're classic. I do like less muted tones and not so trendy items.

And I don't want some specific animal that is the new trend-du-jour on everything. I might be able to use a journaling card, but then there's a damn giraffe on it, and I'm like, "Well, this has nothing at all to do with what I want my page to reflect."

I want them to STOP using words/phases like EPIC and BEST DAY EVER. You can only have 1 best day ever, so why does every single collection have an embellishment with this on it? The PL card sets have at LEAST 3 cards that say that, and it's irritating. No one will have 3 BEST DAY's EVER in one year! LOL I also don't scrap themey, except for travel. I try to use papers that are NOT travel themed, along with SOME travel themed embellishments. I don't like super cutesy patterns, but not super realistic, either. What I DO want, is more GREAT B sides that can be used for any occasion. I use them for backgrounds, and have a hard time finding some I can use. I can't stand the donuts, burgers, mac-n-cheese, forest critters, match sticks (? Yes, I know they can be used for camping, but they are VERY random, and even if I DID go camping, I would not use match sticks on my LO's. LOL) Antlers, mustaches (although, these have gotten more rare), random house furniture (If I have a couch on my LO, it will be the one in the pic.).......like I said, I'm not a themey scrapper.

I do like the new carts Bella fall line. And although I have a cupboard full of Christmas themed scrappy supplies, I know I will scoop up at least one of the kaiserkraft Christmas lines. Haven't seen the Bo bunny or SS lines yet. Usually like their stuff. And I have been liking the new company Photoplay. LavenderLayoutLady I like a year in my life theme. Maybe a little less cutesy than BB's Calendar Girl. And the sticker sheets with most used letters. R S T L S E A O. Bet they would sell like hot cakes. I like the idea of Staycation. Back yard. Local scene. There are not many lines on cooking--or eating out--, yard work, bike rides. Running through the sprinkler. I scrap the grandkids. I am always looking for kid themed pp and elements. Sports. Family meals. Siblings and cousins interacting.

I posted this on your other thread: more journaling cards you can actually journal on.
I, too, would like more home or local themed items - on the grill, enjoying the back yard, trying out new local spots, hiking the park, gardening (both flowers and vegetables), visiting local museums, enjoying outdoor concerts, etc.

I totally agree with those who mentioned lines becoming TOO trendy. I love the idea of materials that will look great not only today, but years from now. Timeless is the perfect word.

Maybe something back and white with a pop of floral-y water colors instead of making soft pastels the basis of everything. Color blocking, geometric shapes, bold washi. Yellow, green, navy- these colors have been neglected! YES YES YES! Something bold and deep in color. I am not a pastel color lover. Not in scrapbooking, clothing etc. My favorite color is kelly green and I love oranges, blues, reds, yellows. I also love black, white and any shade of gray! I don't have much in pink or purple anything. Love the idea of color blocking and geometric shapes...they would go with anything!

I just want to see ONE line without so much goddamn pink that is not travel or child themed. There's a rainbow of other beautiful colours out there!

B side lines. I have found that I reach more for the B side these days than I do the bold pattern, tone on tone, polka dots, water colour, diagonal stripes I just find that these lines are so interchangeable.
Coffee paper, I work in the industry as does my husband and we go to lots of cafes and generally take photos with our kids in cafes. I would also like to see a line to do with cooking, pots and pans and blenders etc and as much as I love the vintage 50's style I feel like we have seen that before.

Gosh, after scrapbooking for 19 years, I don't even know what I want. I feel like I've seen it all, and when new stuff comes out it all feels vaugly familiar and can remember a line that had some element of it. At least this is what I'm telling myself with all the new releases that I'm not loving!

My thoughts are that it's for the designers to be creative and show me something I want. I'm quite happy with my huge stash, and the new collections and designs are the same as always. Same things that I have in my stash. Not even trendy anymore. I'm going to shop my stash and only pick up the bits and pieces that I love among the new stuff.

I'm OK saving my money and making do with what I already have for right now But the one thing I always wished for when I was doing PL was alpha sticker sheets with extra letters specifically for PL - W E K M T F S 1 2 - because I would use letter stickers to make my "week x" card and then I'd want to use matching stickers for the days of the week on my photos - just a little T or W on the corner of some of the photos. But that would kill a sheet most of the time. I have pages of alpha stickers missing all of the 1s and 2s too (think of all the dates we might use stickers for - the vast majority have a 1 or 2 in them!). I felt like I couldn't be the only one wanting to use alpha stickers this way in PL, but maybe I am.

When I get things with numbers I feel like I have to hoard the 1s and 2s otherwise the rest of the numbers would be useless! Can't wait to get to week 33 and beyond!

I'd like to see something other than pastels. No more pink, peach, aqua or yellow! I have 10 and 17 yo sons and two grandsons. I can only do so many pages of my DDs with the pastel-y crap everybody has been putting out for the past couple years. Let's try navy, lt. blue, red, green, etc...and not related to a holiday or theme.

I do that, too...I used to do the dates in stickers, too, but now I have 2 roller stamps I love so I use those (heidi swapp and october afternoon), but the week/s use up a lot of important letters. The thing for me, though, is that I have so many alphabet stickers that I could probably spell out week in every font and not run out for years. Will it match what I'm working on? Who knows, but I just have so much stuff. I would love more vowels and popular letters, though. Blew my mind when one of the Heidi Swapp alpha sets had two colors and literally one P in each one. Couldn't even spell the word HAPPY without mixing fonts or owning two sheets...now that, that is irritating!!!

Yep I am so over the same words/phrases which seemingly appear in each collection. I guess I'm looking for versatile papers and embellishments in a variety of colours - things that can be adapted for all sorts of layouts or projects. The only themed things I probably use are for travel albums (in moderation) and for Christmas.

Yes, as long as the patterns aren't all huge in scale - like some of SC's tended to be. I guess what I'm still looking for is a good variety of patterns, colours, hue etc.

I agree with more B-side lines, I find a lot of the new lines overwhelming and I really only want one or two bold patterns per collection. Also more grid style papers would be nice.
