Yay iheartpaper! I am done too! Here is my book, just the way I like it, with bits and tags sticking out all over. I don't love every page. But I DO love this little book! finished book by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Thanks so much for playing along! You probably didn't need the prompts as much as I did. Knowing I "had" to come up with a prompt motivated me to complete my own pages. And an attitude of gratitude really DOES colour the rest of the day! Good luck to those who have not yet finished. Hope you check in here with progress if you get a moment. I just LOVE your album! I know we will treasure going back over the years and reading what we were thankful for.

Thanks, iheartpaper , but I can't take credit for the design. I found one like it on line when I was looking for ideas for the project back in October. I'll try to attach it below. Attachments:

I'm kind of torn as to what to do with today. I never did manage to find room for a few things in my album and today I was planning on tackling one of them. Instead, I feel almost compelled to use my brother (whom I'm not very close with).
Last night was derailed and I ended up defaulting to 'music' as my item because I could screen shot my pandora stations on my phone. My husband has been having issues with our Civic for a while and it took him almost 10 minutes just to get the car to start last night...once he got home, it wouldn't start at all. My brother said to go buy a certain part and when we couldn't figure out where to put it (apparently that fuse is Houdini) he came over and was able to confirm it is a pricey fix that we had fixed within the last year or two. However, the reason why I might use him as my item is because over the past year, he has helped us keep the car going by discounting parts and labor at the various shops he's worked at to be just about cost. The discounts have made it so repairs haven't caused us insurmountable debt. Today's repair doesn't seem to be as good in price (he's no longer at the shop that allowed the drastic price cuts) but I'm still grateful that we don't have to go to a place and pay a fortune just for a diagnosis and then even more for the repair. I mean, there is a leak in the steering wheel fluid line that the dealership said would cost $1,100 to fix...my brother can fix it for around 20% of that...so, yeah, that says a lot in terms of having family who is available to help. Hubby is going to take the kids to work with him after I take the oldest to school (one car means sharing) and then we're going to hope the car turns on...if not, he'll leave and I'll have to call for a tow and hope they'll take us out to another town (which is where my brother is stuck for the next few months).

That's what I mean about "the brotherhood"! You may not be really close, or always get along, but when you need someone, they are THERE! That sucks about your car. We are having appliance issues this week, I think because of a crazy power surge/brownout/blackout last week. Managed to get the freezer running again. Not so lucky with the washing machine. Haven't even told dh about it, but I think we will need to either book an expensive repair person, or buy a new washer. About your additional ideas that did not make it into the book: can you do a page or two where you just LIST them? Like my summary page, or in some other format, for the final page of the book, or the inside back cover?

About your additional ideas that did not make it into the book: can you do a page or two where you just LIST them? Like my summary page, or in some other format, for the final page of the book, or the inside back cover? Sorry to hear about your appliances...but glad that you got most of them working again. We got a new dishwasher (found out when the new one was going in that a small clog in the overflow thing that goes into the sink was what caused the problems and eventual demise of our old one) in the summer...we weren't prepared to buy a new one, but I've wanted a new one for a while, so it was as good of an excuse as any to finally replace the old one! I probably could, but it depends on if I am able to squeeze everything into one album or if I have to spread it out to 2 (if I have to go with 2, I'll have the room for honorable mentions, lol). We always have issues with my Honda. We went years without anything major (just brakes and tires) going wrong with it, but when we traded in my husband's Hyundai (more wear) to get our van, the wear and tear we were constantly battling with it eventually transferred to my Honda...it just took about 2 years instead of happening right away even though it was older than my husband's Hyundai was. My husband's second job is as a delivery driver, so the issues aren't unexpected. If something happens with a big repair (like the transmission or the engine) we'll have to trade it in and get a second vehicle (and a second car payment) because there's just no way we can handle it...the few hundred here and there is a bit easier to deal with, it's when we have multiple failures in a short time frame when we'll have to reevaluate whether we should just keep sinking money into it or look at getting a replacement vehicle. Driving it so much (it had been well under average for mileage and in the 3 years my husband has used it for his second job, he's gotten in to well exceed average). It sucks to see what he's doing to my car (inside and out). Yeah, we're family and there for each other when it matters...as dysfunctional as we are, lol.

He has been a huge help! My brother in law is the general sales manager at a Ford dealership and we take our car there because he's a sweetie and gets us a discount on my husbands 2002 truck, but no where as huge as your brother has gotten for you!

Oh yes, he has been a huge help. Sucks that his new place only discounts labor, but I often felt like he was getting us too big of a discount before...so this makes it a bit of wash, I think. Just wish this wasn't happening right before Christmas! It is nice to have someone to help you out, especially in an industry known for taking advantage. When my Dad passed, I didn't think he would ever be able to fend for himself (he never really worked...my dad spoiled him), but he had his education (the best thing my dad ever did for him) and has done really well for himself. I am very proud of him.

Got some fun tow pictures...hahaha! Even though I'm sorry you're having car issues, yay for the pictures! Even though my heater wasn't working this year (brrr), I'm so thankful that DS29's friend was able to come over today and find the problem. I had bumped into the thermostat a couple of months ago and it had fallen off the wall and was hanging loose. I shoved it back on without realizing there was a loose wire that controlled the heat only. Just the cost of a service call ($75) so I am thankful!

Finally making some progress. I finished up another page and finally photographed the others. I realized that I forgot to put the I Voted sticker on my Election Day layout, so I'm happy to have remembered that (I couldn't bear to toss out the one piece that I had to cut off and while it won't line up in the album, I think it looks decent when out of the page protector). Day 8: Day 9: Day 10: Day 11: You got through the dreaded Election Day layouts and have come so far. They are all gorgeous! You're so sweet. Thank you!!

Oh grammadee i can relate to your washing machine woes! Mine has been on the fritz since labour day weekend. I have had 6 or 7 repair visits by 3 different repairmen and it still only sort of works sometimes. The kicker....I just bought it in March! Still under warranty but I haven't been able to get them to commit to a replacement yet. I'm waiting for a call from a different repair company now. Whirlpool/Maytag wants a second opinion. Ggrrr! And your album is beautiful and from what You've shared of it the inside is full of beauty as well. If I could be half as creative as you I would be thrilled!

Now that the month is complete, how does everyone feel about their pages/albums? I thought it was a really fun project. I still have a few pages to complete, but this book went much quicker and easier than I thought it would. I thought I would struggle to come up with 30 things, but quite the opposite. I also found success in pre-assembling a kit and doing foundation pages. I've never been able to do December Daily like that successfully, so that was an eye opener for me. Overall, I would say I loved this project and will do it again! Thanks to grammadee for sharing her ideas and hosting our threads and for everyone else who shared pages and ideas!!

While I didn't do foundation pages, I did cut 32 pieces of ivory cardstock into 6x6's to have them ready. Because everything from my DIY kit was stuffed in a small box, I could move about with it. It really makes me feel great about beginning December Documented!

I just wrapped up Day 15...and it definitely fills an album. I'm so glad I ended up being able to locate more of the same color album so they are uniform for the year. I'm really happy with how it's coming...but it's December 8th, lol.
It will be completed, but dang, I kept up at the start because I'm a slow scrapper and knew if I got behind, I would not catch back up. I, however, didn't anticipate getting this far behind...it is REALLY hard to scrap when you have visitors!!

Told you I was slow. I am nearly done. I am working on day 27 right now. December is such a busy month (and we're notoriously unbusy people, lol) and we've spent a good deal of our free time undoing the damage the kids have been doing to the house. First, it was cleaning up so it would look nice for Christmas (which was a lather, rinse, repeat task) and even though we threw away 2 huge bags of wrapping paper and boxes from Christmas morning, there was still more cleaning to do...and then it was cleaning the garage (2 days for that) mostly because of moving things around to get to our Christmas stuff and all of the Amazon boxes from Christmas (they send a 1inx1inx1in item in a 12ftx12ftx12ft box, I swear it, lol), plus taking down the few decorations we put up. But I'm finally get into the swing of things. I haven't done much shopping in the past couple of weeks and I find that when my shopping drops off, I am more productive (less focus on putting things away) and when I'm shopping a lot, I don't create because I either have to reorganize to fit things or the piles just make being creative unappealing...I'm one of the types that can't create in a cluttered space. I have to clean between every page I do. Just a lot of excuses to say that I'm still not done...I knew December would be really unlikely, lol! At least I'm honest with myself.

It's nice that you've gotten so far in it scrapaddict702! I'm only nine pages in to my December Documented, but I feel really good about the fact that I'm slowly working on it daily. Life gets in the way. With your little ones, the holidays and the boxes (lol) you've really accomplished a lot! You'll soon have it complete.

You're doing great on your DD, I'm not even that far into mine from 2015. That was my hope to finish in December (it has photos and cards in it, just needs journaling and embellishing...I'm only finished up to day 7 or so with everything) but I hate having unfinished projects, so I wanted to get this album done first since it's newer (the DD sat because it wasn't really exciting to work on Christmas stuff in July, lol)...plus, I'm having a lot of fun with it. I appreciate the encouragement. I have day 27 laid out on my desk just calling for me. I keep falling for papers that I don't have embellishments for which is part of why it's taking me so long to wrap up the last few days (lots of digging...it's way easier to work within a collection), but I want to love it and not just throw things together.

Someone has a tag line on their siggy saying "It does not matter how fast you go, as long as you keep moving..." I agree with that. Glad you are still working on this project and almost at the end of it. And I hope you enjoy this little album long after it is complete! Often if I don't get a project finished when I am in the middle of it, I set it aside and then don't always come back to it.
