I got an electric kettle today. I've wanted one for ages, but had convinced myself it wasn't necessary because I could boil water in the microwave. However, after Peas praised them in a recent thread I decided to go for it! I forsee many, many cups of tea in my future.
I also bought a package of dark chocolate covered candy cane Joe Joe's at Trader Joe's today. I had planned not to eat them until closer to Christmas, but cookies go so well with tea...

That's disappointing. I love the Sephora in NYC. Two floors and lots of helpful salespeople. I just bought some Kat VonD Everlasting lip color in a tube there and am loving the shade. Also a new color of NARS blush (they discontinued my previous shade). That's sad to hear. I love our Sephora and everyone is always so helpful. One young man who works there always wears the most fabulous makeup and always remembers me. (I a little jealous that this guy looks so great in makeup). I would definitely go back and return the makeup you don't like. They will take it back no questions asked. I would also talk to the manager and have someone else help you. That lady should NOT be working there. And I have been to the NYC Sephora and it is to die for! It's too far for me to go back to unfortunately it was just dumb luck I was near it actually. This one was in a JC Penny's and I heard they're not as professional in those so idk.

Then I went to T2 and bought a variety pack of herbal teas:
- Apple, Kale & Ginger
- Baxter’s Buns
- Black Forest Bliss
- Carrot, Ginger & Turmeric
- Gingernut Chai
- Hot Date Chai
- Jaffalicious
- Peace, Love & Peppermint
and one of these teamakers I had one of these from about 10 years ago and when I used it recently it leaked so I needed a new one.
I also went to T2 recently to buy some more of my favorite tea, the Lemon Myrtle one. I didn't see those tea makers otherwise I'm sure I would have bought the aqua one to take to work. I have one of the big tea jugs from T2 but wanted something smaller for work. I ended up buying this tea cup infuser thingy from Coles of all places! It works well with my lemon myrtle tea. I have also been buying myself a jar of my very favorite cheese each week. I used to only buy it for special occasions but I have decided that life it too short to deprive myself of life's great pleasures so now I pick up a jar every time I do a grocery shop. It it truly magnificent. It really does feel like I am treating myself whenever I eat it. I try to limit myself to one cube per night (there are 7 in each jar) but sometimes I just can't stop! The simple things hey?!

I went to a craft show last weekend and bought pistachio butter (amazing!), honey roasted cashew butter, and spoonable fudge & gel candles. I also bought some Christmas gifts; a blanket, one of those hand made heating pads that smells nice, felted wool mittens, a knife and I think my favorite thing of the day was socks that have little dogs with cones of shame all over them. My daughter will love them.

A new coffeemaker though I had to get one because my old one died and I can't last long without my morning coffee!

I just bought Red Hot Chili Pepper tickets and I am crazy excited. Second row center. Can't wait! So jealous! I couldn't get DH excited about it. So I did not spend the money.

I splurged on a tinted version of this and it's amazing! I've had it for 1.5 years and while I don't use it everyday, every time I use it, I wonder why I don't because it works well and makes my lips feel good and look good too!

I've been on a Lularoe kick lately. I tried out a pair of basic black leggings and loved them. Then I bought a printed pair. Tonight I bought a black skirt and a really pretty multi colored one.

Somewhere - it basically said it was good for everything, but i'm not running around for it at this time of night - why did you think I said YOU should try it rather than me???!! While I agree that good old Vaseline has many uses, I'm not sure this is one of them If I'm really bored on Sunday I'll play along and let you know - I give it 10 minutes max Yeah....forget using the Vaseline - apparently, it's good for defining lashes and taming brows so at least I had the right part of the face, just the wrong application!

Tons at the scrapbook expo last weekend. We had lots of plans for yummy food but we were running early sunday (the shock...without kids in tow, you can get so much done faster) so we had time for breakfast sit down style. So my favorite food stop had to be our unexpected stop at Roscoe's for breakfast (Obama's special). My mouth is watering now...lol. Fried chicken wings and damn, they need to sell their waffle mix!

I didn't see those tea makers otherwise I'm sure I would have bought the aqua one to take to work. They have those tea makers as a part of their regular stock, although this is a newer model to the one I had that leaked. I'm sure they had the aqua colour the last time I was in too. I saw those ones at Coles too - they are much cheaper than T2...funny how I can talk myself out of the Coles one yet cave at T2! Have you tried the Yarra Valley feta from Costco. It comes in a bigger tub (tall) and it's about $9.99 I think...I really like that one, it's soft and creamy like a Persian fetta. You can get it at other supermarkets but only in the small tub and it's almost the same price as the big tub at Costco.

I love these threads. I have treated myself to a few things lately. Books are my normal thing I allow myself to buy for myself (or music) or anyone else. I am so grateful my dh loves books too. Our youngest is reading a chapter book every 1-2 days and we love to read him pictures books so we are still getting those. We do go to the library some but there are pictures books we want to keep and have in our library. I can see the chapter books don't need to be bought but can be library books to save on money and space. We moved this year and I wanted a new tree skirt. The selection is good and not picked over yet so I was trying to find one early. I also needed a new stocking for my mom. I have always done a stocking for her but I had a cheap generic one and I wanted a special one. I kind of wanted a new one for myself but I have had the same one for like 25 years and my kids have always had the same one so I wasn't sure about changing mine. I found the colorful one below and just couldn't pass it up. I love white, gray and blacks with some burst of rainbow colors. This was just perfection and so well made. I love sandals and in Texas you probably have a good 8 months out of the year you can wear them. I didn't even have a blue pair on my wish list but I saw these and loved them! They look great with jeans and the quality is great. I found them at discount store (Marshalls or TJ Maxx) but Nordstrom sells this brand. I just order the Beachwaver Wand to try with my hair. I cut it cut recently and I have been dying for the option of some curls and have read so many great reviews about it I took the plunge. It arrives later today so we shall see!

I splurged on a timeshare at the beach to celebrate my 60th birthday. Now it isn't until next May, but my friend let me use her week so I had to pay her fee and a small guest fee. When we checked for next May there was basically only one resort available. I invited my mom down too. This is a milestone birthday so to speak but I dislike parties. My idea of a great birthday is to hang out with my loved ones at the beach and have a wonderful seafood dinner someplace. That is an awesome splurge!!

I treated myself to a 90 minute facial yesterday. I went to Aveda school of beauty where a 90 minute facial is just 49.00 and tipping is not allowed. It was wonderful!!

Yup. And overdid it. Nordstrom has a makeup trunk show 2x a year at 7 am before the store opens. It's a seasonal trend show and they give out all kinds of fun prizes and have a runway show. Afterwards they have freelance national makeup artists for each line. One lipstick and an eyeshadow turned in to eight different things and a moisturizer from Chanel.
I'm not buying any more makeup until May.
