You may believe what you'd like about what God wants but the Bible is very clear and I find it's best to let God speak for Himself. What exactly is this "defense"? What are you defending? She happens to share the opinion that it is nothing to be offended about, but questions why people would ridicule someone for having the issue with the words. Now, as stared earlier, I don't care what you say to me, but if someone I wasn't trying to poke really wanted a merry christmas, then I don't see the harm in saying it her. Now my fil? I want to poke at him, so I make sure and say happy holidays and the like. Sometimes each side digs their heels in at minute details or past arguments and it makes the divide bigger. Why isn't it okay to be upset the religious part of Xmas is being stamped out? Just because you are upset about something doesn't take away something from someone else. Allow them to vent and be understanding, but maintain your particular position. It should go both ways. I get that there are some peas here with opinions on most things that cloud our interactions with them. I try to remember that everyone has different experiences and perspectives and that change only happens when there is positive exposure. |
