grammadee - Love the pages - the comfort and joy page is absolutely that. At first sight I felt all warm and sung with the read plaid paper. Just looking at it it gave me a feeling of softness and warmth. What a great way to use product to convey the feel of the event. I just love the retro feel to the elements on the second layout. I would never think of using red on a winter page, and this background paper works so well with the little bits of read throughout the elements and the photo. Great job as always.

maribeth , glad you'll be busy for awhile. As long as March isn't too busy -- for Calvinball. Looking forward to Calvinball, I am having a hard time getting started, had such high hopes after Christmas decorations were put away to scrap, and scrap and scrap, but someone really needs to light a fire under me. I know what I need to do. I need to work on some of my basic pages - Courthouses, NRHP etc because those come together for me so easily and I am always pleased. I tried doing cards yesterday and failed, I did not like how any of them were coming out, so I get discouraged and quite. But if I start with something I know will be a success then I know that will spark other creative things in me and it will get me on the right track. Maybe tonight I can get me scrap on while watching the Australian Open. Have a wonderful day.

maribeth, I think you are being too hard on yourself. I'm sure your cards were fine. I do understand about when something comes together well, it spurs the creative juices and adds to the mojo. I don't know how you guys ( grammadee, LisaDV, justjac) do Calvinball. I'm so slow...guess that's why I've been a Pokey Pea for so many years. LisaDV, I'm glad you have your computer back. Sorry you can't blame all the ills on the walnut trees. Who knew they are such wicked plants? I had to laugh at your comment about cleaning. When my children were young I lettered a big sign for my fridge: "Cleaning my house while my children are growing is like shoveling the walk while it's still snowing!" So what is my excuse now that they are grown??? I understand about the soreness trying not to fall. It is not as bad as actually falling, however. scrapincin, I'm glad you are doing well today. No rough stuff for you, we need your "ticker" ticking properly! I can't understand why these wonderful body parts think they can wear out or take a break! Hang in there. We all love you. BTW, I love your cards. I added them to my new Pinterest board! I'm such a dummy! I got up to go to school this am and was just about ready to leave, when DH called to remind me I didn't have school because of Martin Luther King day. I would have driven over and wondered where everyone was. I just forgot. So I took down my Christmas village instead. Now to tackle the Christmas tree tomorrow. grammadee, it sounds like you had a busy Saturday. I love your layouts. You are making me want to make a calendar for myself with my grands on it. All my kids use cell phone calendars, but I have to have one on a wall. You do such beautiful things with yours. kellyr21, I agree with LisaDV's kids that your cards are gorgeous with the gold. Did you do anything fun this weekend? Watch ballgames? My son and his wife had tickets to the Cowboys game yesterday. They called after the game and were very sad for the loss. We didn't even know they had gone! I need to run and finish up a few things. I'll post some layouts before too long. Have a great week, my friends!

Looking forward to Calvinball too, LisaDV and maribeth ! I loved taking part last year: so much action and inspiration. There were tons of challenges, and lots of creations in their gallery, so there was always an idea of what to do next. And I am so competitive that adding up the points was fun in itself! And there was no pressure to create a certain number of pages or cards, nylene . Some people signed up but didn't create many things at all, just commented on what was posted in the Gallery. I have had lots of days like the one you describe, maribeth . Sometimes I have tons of ideas and no time and then I will have time and opportunity and the creativity just doesn't seem to flow. Your mojo will come home to roost! Hope you are feeling better, scrapincin . What did the doctor say? Dh went to see the dr this morning, but he was told he has a virus, so there is really nothing for it but time. He seems to be feeling better physically today than Saturday, but he is a worrier, so when he is feeling under the weather, he thinks he will ALWAYS feel this way, so he is not a happy camper. I love doing the calendars, nylene , and the "kids" love getting them for Christmas each year. I order a a set of preprinted annual 12x12 calendars every year, with the dates in place and a blank cs facing each month. I scrap the monthly pages, then in November have them copied onto thin photo paper, and then glue them into the calendars. I also handwrite in the holidays and any family birthday and anniversary dates each month, so everyone is reminded. Of course the young people use their phones for their daytimers, but I have seen that they tend to use the family calendar as a central place in the home to write down hockey games and practices and school events, etc. My dd writes in all the significant family dates for her hubby's side of the family so they remember to call or text on the right day. Today, I finished sorting all the photos I had printed on Saturday. Made a list of all the titles I could be using with those photos, and put together a couple of pages for one of the titles. I also finished a bd card I had started last week, and wrapped up a bd gift for our dgs who will be 5 on Friday. I need to get this into the mail tomorrow. Have a great Monday evening, Ladies! nylene - thanks for your kind words, but the cards really did suck - LOL but like grammadee said my mojo will come back to roost soon. grammadee - now there is a cute card - and I am guessing somebody is 5, what a cute idea. And your other two pages are full of Christmas wonder and fun. I love the tree embellishment on the first layout, so unique. Is that a die cut that you made or a purchased embelly? Off to watch the Australian Open, have a wonderful night ladies.

justjac, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you are having a fabulous day! grammadee, great pages. What wonderful calendars those layouts will make!! I also love the double page featuring the Christmas decor. Such a fun way to create the page, from the little one's perspective. Hope your DH is feeling better. maribeth, I'm sure your mojo will be back in full measure soon. nylene, I tried not to fret over the house when the kids were little. I always wanted the sign "Pardon the mess, but we live here." Glad you didn't make the drive to school! We had school today, but we took all of last week off since we went with Don to work for dd's dr. appt. I have to kick myself into gear as I have a layout swap due soon. Otherwise, school and chores are taking up a majority of time these days. I try to check in here, but frequently it's while laying in bed on my phone which I'm not crazy about tagging or quoting on. (Is it laying or lying? It's already after 7pm here and my brain tends to check out after 4:30.) Hope everyone is staying warm.

And your other two pages are full of Christmas wonder and fun. I love the tree embellishment on the first layout, so unique. Is that a die cut that you made or a purchased embelly? Thanks, maribeth . That tree was made with a set of two dies from Dee's Distinctive dies: the green part in the base, and then the red part is one of the ways to dress it up. I have another die for a leafy topper and have used that alone, but could use it with the base as well. Here is a link to the base I have THIS ONE which is Christmas Tree 2. I can't find a link to the topper I used on that page, which is Christmas Tree 4.

I saw the doctor this morning and we got the meds all straightened out hopefully. I am just not believing what these pharmaceutical companies are pulling with these outlandish prices. So I will be off the meds til Thursday then I start the new one. Have to have some blood work done and a new echo cardiogram done and then I should be good to go. I am hoping I don't go into a fib between now and the end of the week from being off all the antiarrhythmia medicine. grammadee I love your pages and will get over to the gallery to leave you some love. Well I will be back in the morning as this thing is giving me fits!

Thanks so much for the birthday greetings everybody. I've been lurking and reading your updates, but haven't gotten to a computer to reply. I had a great lunch with grammadee on Saturday and then went to another friend's early Chinese New Year dinner. Sunday, I went out for supper and cake with my inlaws. Monday was work as usual, but then DH spoiled me. He made me the most beautiful quilled card. He also bought me one large and two small flower arrangements: one for the kitchen, one for the living room, and one for my office. Tonight is my MIL's retirement supper. I haven't been scrapping much, but I did finish my December Daily. I also started a 6x8 album for FIT 2017, a Cathy Zielske class I'm taking. Have a great day.

He did it again, justjac! What a gorgeous card! And with your love of sunflowers... Wow! He IS a keeper! (but then you knew that!) scrapincin, I hope the transition to the new meds is not too difficult. Seems like a long time to be without any meds when you have been on them daily. Take care of yourself. LisaDV, I hope you get some time to play with paper. Meeting a deadline, like a swap, often spurs me on, so I hope it helps you too. Too funny about the housework. Yes "we live here". I used to get my kids to clean house because they were the ones messing it up. Now that they are gone, I realize that the two of us do a pretty good job of that ourselves. And no one around to blame it on! And that was funny about MLK day, nylene. Must have felt like a really special holiday: the unplanned ones are the best! Finished a couple of pages today using fairly old stash. I have a couple more kind of loosely laid out, but I think I want the feature photo printed in a different orientation, so I may leave those pages until next week. Not sure if I will get anything crafty done tomorrow, and after that I will be gone until Tuesday. Dh is still coughing, and has decided to stay home from our planned trip to Abbotsford, but I intend to go alone. Managed to cancel his flight today and bank the miles to be used sometime in the next year. I will be leaving to drive to Edmonton Wednesday afternoon, spend the night in a hotel near the airport, then fly out early Thursday morning. Will be with ds & family until Monday evening when I fly back to Edmonton, where I will stay again, then drive home on Tuesday. Sounds like a busy weekend what with hockey for two of the girls and a dance performance for all three. And the girls want to bake gingerbread cookies like we had planned to do before Christmas. I will need to pack my recipe and cookie cutters. And of course charge up my camera . I may have to go into total hibernation after I get back with THOSE photos added to all the December ones I plan to scrap! Have a good Tuesday evening, Pokeys!

Good morning Pokeys! Well we are half way thru the week already! So far I am doing ok. No a fib so far! I woke up with a bad headache but it is finally starting to go away. I am trying to take it easy so I may print some pics and start working on a layout or two. Also have a couple cards I can make. Yesterday I made a big pot of vegetable beef soup! It was so good. I made almost 12 quarts so sent a 2 quart jar home with Jeremy for their dinner last night. My DMIL used to do that for me only we would eat with her the first meal then take some home. I always get good bread to go with it and eat it with peanut butter on it. It just tastes good to me that way. I had soup bones to add to it too. grammadee- I am loving those calendar pages too. I made a few calendars but did them from photos from the year before but I am liking how you are making them up with current ones. I was going to try making a purse size one as I like a month on two pages with the dates going horizontally and they are hard to find. I have My Digital Studio which was great for making calendars. nylene- I think you are probably back to school today. I know those kids must do better after working with you! How are Steve's hands? Can he wear gloves when he works with the walnut? I know he loves working with wood and it keeps him busy. His woodworking is like your scrapbooking and paper crafting. justjac- What a guy you have there! I can't believe that card he made-it is beautiful! I would definitely say he's a keeper! LisaDV- I am so glad you got your computer back! I am looking forward to seeing your pages showing up here again. kellyr21- Are you and Ron feeling better? I sure hope so. Did it finally stop raining there? I know I was keeping up with Al Roker but have missed his forcast the past couple days. maribeth- with Calvinball days coming up I am looking forward to seeing some of your pages showing up here too. We have missed it! Well going to get off of here for now but will come back later to see what everyone is up to.

Just have to dig out my camera cord and get it on the computer to upload to Flickr.

Hi, all my virtual friends! It's always so fun to come here and see your happy faces! grammadee , I am sorry your husband is not doing better. It's a shame he had to cancel the trip. I hope he begins to start feeling better. The poor man. I hope you will have a great trip as you visit with your family. Don't overdo! justjac , your DH made that card for you? Wow, I agree that he's a keeper! No wonder you too ended up together. Double creativity! kellyr21 , how are you two feeling? I hope you are both back on your feet. scrapincin , I'm glad you have been OK so far this week. Your vegetable beef sounds wonderful. Wish you could hand me a bowl full! You are a sweetie to share with your family. Steve has rashes up and down his arms. He has only used walnut once since he started on the cream. We are now thinking he needs to be tested for fir and canary wood. He has been using those a bunch and the rash has begun again. He will have a recheck in a few weeks. He can't wear gloves because the super glue he uses for the finish sticks to the glove. He has tried that. The funny thing is that it seems to be more on his arms and only on a couple of fingers. Weird! maribeth , I hope your mojo comes back. Make a few of your fun historical pages and I'm sure it will come back. We want to see a bunch of Calvinball layouts. LisaDV , I hope you are keeping warm. It is cold here and I can't seem to stay warm. It looks like it's mighty cold in your neck of the woods. I went to get my cream for my Lichen Planus and what used to cost a $20 copay is no longer covered by Ins. and has to be self pay. It is over $2000 for the tube! Uh, no, I think I'll have to try something else or just itch. Medication prices have gone crazy! I need to get dinner. I'll be back later.

Happy Wednesday all! I have made so many cards like the ones you saw and then I had some leftover straps and used those on some smaller cards. Thanks maribeth for the suggestions of where to put the sentiments on the flower cards. We'll see how it all works out. My dh and I feeling much better and hope the coughing is over any day now. A while ago the dvd side of our dvd/vcr player stopped working. Until we get a new one I have been using the vcr side. Yes, we still use it! LOL! So since we both love classic movies I look forward to going to our little library store to see if they have any good videos. So far, I have gotten several great ones from there. On Saturday, they had several Rodgers and Hammerstein movies and I bought five of them for .25 cents each. LOL! So today I am watching Oklahoma which I have never seen. Love musicals and this store. maribeth - I know your mojo will return. It is so funny how it disappears and then for me it suddenly reappears. nylene - LOL! So glad your dh reminded you of the MLK day! Ron didn't have it off and poor thing had to work. But at least the traffic was very light for him. We did enjoy the football games over the weekend and so neat to hear your ds and dil got to go. Now that we have two football teams in the area, maybe we will see a game. justjac - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you had a great time and how beautiful is that card your dh made. He is talented!!! LisaDV - Tell your dd thanks for the sweet comments about my cards. Yeah, I love the gold too. scrapincin , the rain has stopped and it was cool and sunny. But it is gray now so maybe the rain is coming back. Hang in there girl! I hope you feel better and better this year. You got walking and more fishing to do. grammadee - Hope you all are feeling better too. This bug has really been tough this year. I haven't been sick with this many colds in like never.

kellyr21 , I have a little TV in my scrap room that is a combination VCR and TV. So all I watch in here are old videos that we bought many, many years ago when the kids were young! I love all the old movies. I hope you enjoy Oklahoma. It's a good one. Wow, for 25 cents, that would be great. My DSIL loves thrift stores and finds old movies for me. I don't know what he pays for them, but just gives them to me. Enjoy the oldies! So glad you guys are feeling better. Hope the coughs leave soon. Here are a couple of quick pages. I am sitting in a hotel room across the highway from the airport. Wish I had brought some scapping supplies... nylene, I love those pages. Will go look at them more closely in the Gallery. I hope you can find a less expensive cream that works. I have had to change meds in the past because of changes to the drugs themselves that either make them ineffective or bring on some new side effect, but have never had a favorite dropped from insurance. And I hope your dh can figure out what is irritating him. Don't know what I would do if I were suddenly allergic to scrappy supplies! I know this is a dumb question, but do you think he might have walnut residue on his jacket or smock? Glad you are coping so well, scrapincin, and I hope all will settle down when you get your new drugs tomorrow. My calendars always DO feature last year's photos. I make a new page each month for NEXT year's calendar. The first year, I built the pages in late October, and it was more difficult than it had to be: looking for photos that might work, looking for seasonal supplies for winter, spring & summer in the fall... I find doing the pages in or directly after the month really removes a lot of stress, when I remember the story behind the photo and have the supplies at hand. Glad you are feeling better and crafting again, kellyr21. And I hope you get some nice weather. I am headed to our west coast, and the weatherman says I am in for a rainy weekend there. Oh well, most of our planned activities are inside. Dh is still coughing, but he seemed to be feeling quite a bit better today. He hates travelling at the best of times, so I think just knowing he could stay home helped him relax. if you don't feel the relative juices flowing, maribeth, have you started gathering your pix and supplies for Calvinball? Some people start kitting a month early. Not really my MO, but they say it helps them with their creative process. justjac will be doing a LOAD in February with ScrapHappy, so she'll be really rolling by March! Have a great evening, Ladies.

Oh, maribeth, your layout looks like you have tons of mojo. So cute and so classy. I wanted to tell you the reason for the maroon and gold on the graduation pages is because those are their school colors. It was such a beautiful spring day that I mounted everything on spring green. Not traditional graduation colors, but it matched the photos of his gown and hat. grammadee, Steve wears long sleeves while working with wood, and switches out the sweatshirt every day so I can wash it. I don't know why the rash is on his upper arms. Weird. He has been helping the Disabled Veterans make wooden cars for sale. He is working on about 200 of them and they are made from 2x4's, so they are fir. He wasn't tested for fir, but I'm afraid that could be the culprit right now. He was tested for pine and was fine. I'll be glad when he finishes the cars and I don't think he'll volunteer for that many again. (I hope) I need to post some photos of some of the pens DH has made. He is getting very inventive with his designs. kellyr21, did you take photos of your latest cards? Are they on your blog? I'll have to go look. It's a very snowy day today so I'll be staying in as much as possible. have a good Thursday!

Happy Thursday! It rained and now it is clear and sunny. So I was happy so I could get my walk in. I got an order to make a thank you card so I will be working on that today. I've got so many cards already done but wanted to make something specific for this person. The card is for a couple so I don't want it to be too feminine but have some male details too. That's the hard part since I rarely make male cards. But I've got some great paper to work with and we'll see how it works out.
Here are more of the fun flower cards I made. I just about used up all the paper in the pad with these cute cards. I ven used the scraps for some little note cards. I still have to add a sentiment when I figure that out.

wow you guys are posting things like crazy! I will be in the gallery all evening just passing out the love. Actually I stopped by to let you know all is well with me.Started the new med today and so far so good. I have to take 3 doses today and I still have one to go. And I never went in to a fib while off the first med. So far so good. I sent the afternoon in the scraproom and made another card which I think is so cute. I will post it at the wend. nylene- I just love those layouts! Awesome use of the stars and journaling cards! I hope Steve figures it what he has before it gets any worse. Oh my soup has been very good. I have been eating it everyday for lunch! Maribeth-that page is gorgeous and if that's a slump I want one! I especially love those stockings hanging from the title! kellyr21- these creations with the gold foil are gorgeous! I am sure they will work well with whatever you decide! grammadee- So sorry your DH could not go with you but knowing you you will keep busy! scrapincin - oh my what a darling card. I love mason jars, and have never been able to get the hang of working with that image/icon. You nailed this one, it is adorable. Thank you so much for the kind words on my page. I am pleased with it, but I want to do more, and have just had a difficult time getting into the groove, I think nylene is right I need to do a few of my standard pages courthouses/NRHP etc.... that have a standard format and maybe that will spur on the more creative side...Cindy, I am so glad that you are doing well on your new meds, health issues at our age is so scary...my prayers are with you for continued success.

I have been battling for a couple of years.Where I used to do several layouts a week now I am lucky to do 2 a month. I have not posted to my blog in quite a while. but keep hoping I will get back there. I figure making cards keeps the spark alive!

I love everything with mason jars. grammadee, Have fun on your trip. Great graduation pages. maribeth, lovely page! kellyr21, gorgeous! just gorgeous! nylene, so sorry Steve's having another allergy to wood. That so stinks. We're having a heat wave here. It's 9:30pm and 32F. It's around 40 yesterday and today. Saturday and Sunday will be up to 47F. We can even see some grass in spots. That never happens in January! Don and I drove by 1 lake and a bay of Lake Michigan today. Open water on the bay and the other lake had some ice but had spots of open water. Strange winter. I'm off to bed.

Hello everyone. I am midpoint in my weekend here. One girl is now off to hockey practice: she has a game I will attend tomorrow. The other two are off to get their hair done for their performance tonight. I went to the youngest's hockey game this morning, sat in the hot tub for awhile, and now am just relaxing.
I think dh is wishing he had come. Yesterday his parked truck was grazed in town by a Hit-and-Run driver. It is drivable, but will need repair. It would have been safe in the yard if he had come with me...
Tonight is the supper & dance performance, then tomorrow hockey and cookie baking. Monday I fly back to alberta.
Have a great weekend, ladies! Hope you are either making memories or scrapping them!
