Hi, Scrappy Friends! I went out this morning and as I got back in the car, my feet slipped and I fell hitting my hip/back on the edge of the car. I am such a klutz, but to be fair, it was very snowy and coming down like crazy. So the rest of the day I plan to stay in and keep warm. I am so so tired of cold and snow already! grammadee , it sounds like they are keeping you hopping. I'm sorry about your DH's truck. How irritating that the culprit did not stop. Have a safe trip back home. LisaDV , how would you like to send us some of your warmth? (if you call 40 degrees warmth) I have seen that there have been some scary situations where the lakes and ponds have thawed and people have gone through the ice in your area of the country. What crazy weather this winter. scrapincin , I am loving your cards. That jar one is so cool. I saw a tutorial for it and pinned it. Keep those pretty cards coming. They are filling my Pinterest board. maribeth , did you say you made page kits for Calvinball last year? I tried that this fall but always changed my mind about how I was going to scrap the photos. Probably more like, I forgot what I planned to do, and then I couldn't make things fit like I planned. I think I need a class in how to kit! I hope you have lots of mojo by the time Calvinball starts. I'm expecting to see LOTS of layouts. kellyr21 , your cards are so pretty. I love the ones you made with the scraps. What paper line is that beautiful gold and pink? justjac , I am still in awe of your husband's mad quilling skills! I tried that, but I'm too shaky in my old age. He is definitely a keeper. sbartist , I am loving your pages posted on Scrapbook.com. You ought to post them here too. Here are a couple of layouts I finished about the last time Jon (DSIL) took us on a tour of the Pixar Studios. Giant Balloons by Nylene Budge, on Flickr Giant Balloons by Nylene Budge, on Flickr Save

Happy Saturday! I went to Joann's today. I haven't been there in awhile and really enjoyed. Next door was a cute gift and card shop. It was sort of disorganized in there but cute stuff. LOL! Thanks for all the praise regarding my last cards. I loved making them and hope I can find that pp pad again at Michaels. It is a Recollections 6x6 pad called "Blush and Mint." Oh, just loved it! nylene- Oh I am so glad you are ok. I think you dislike snow and winter as much as I dislike hot summers. LOL! Hang in there! scrapincin- So happy you are feeling better and I hope it continues! Maybe the football games will lift your spirits. Waving hello to you all and have a nice rest of the weekend.

Oh nylene, I hope your fall didn't cause any major injuries! Bet you will hurt for a few days. I am a little more afraid of ice than I used to be... BTW I love your pages! So cute and fun!

nylene - Oh no! I hope you are doing okay, the pain from falls like that are usually worse on day too. Please keep us posted. did you say you made page kits for Calvinball last year? No I don't make kits, I never can figure out how to put a kit together. I just prepare things for my pages that are more standard - Courthouses, Abandoned Places, Post Office. Like I get the titles all done, the different icon cameos, the envelopes and mats for the post office pages, as well as the matted stamp paper used on each page, stuff like that. It is so much quicker to put the page together if I am not messing with those things during CalvinBall. You Pixar pages are great. The colors really say Pixar how fun. Again your cut work is outstanding and it sure is evident that your machine is getting used! Have a wonderful day!

Thank you all for the well wishes. I am really sore, but I'm surviving. I had to clean 4 inches of snow off my car to come home from school today. It is still snowing. If this continues we may be buried! LOL maribeth, that sounds like you are doing big kits, with lots of little embellishments made ahead of time. That sounds like a good way to do it. I hope you get a lot done during Calvinball. grammadee, I hope you have had a fun time with the grands. How is your husband doing? scrapincin, are you still doing OK with your new meds? I hope ;you are doing well, relaxing and getting your scrap on. kellyr21, I am tempted to get out of the snow and head south. Angie said we could come there and it would be a little warmer, but at least no snow. If we had a school holiday coming, I just might do that! Are you guys both feeling better? sbartist, waving hi! It's fun seeing your layouts even if they aren't posted here. I'm glad you are getting some scrappy time. I'm off to take DH to the eye Dr for his monthly treatments. I'll check in again later.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are doing well today. Hope to do some more cards today. nylene - Oh so glad you are ok. That snow sounds nasty. I hope you can get to your dd's for a break in that bad snow. Yes, this rain has been going on but right now it has stopped and the sun is out. I wish you could get some of this sunshine. Hang in there. Also, my cold is all gone and Ron's is just about gone. Yippee! LOL! Waving hello to you all!

Hi Pokeys, nylene I'm glad you weren't badly hurt. I slipped when I was out walking last week, but I just got a bruise on my knee. Nothing serious. We got a couple of inches of snow here today, but it sounds like we have hardly any compared to you. grammadee that is too bad about DH's truck. It is so frustrating when something like that happens. I hope you had safe travels home. maribeth whatever you do to prep for Calvinball, it works for you! You did such a great job last year. kellyr21 good luck with your cards! I have three birthday cards and a Valentine's card to make. I made two this past weekend that I will try to link. DH and I went to Saskatoon to my niece's birthday party yesterday. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive, but the roads were good. It was good to see my mom, sister, cousin, brother and his family. My dad stayed home because after his chemo, he just needed to sleep. I hope to get some scrappy time on the weekend. During the week, I will be working, marking, walking, and meeting with my book club. Have a great week everybody!

justjac , I'm sorry about your knee. It's scary out there in the snow and ice! I have posted a layout and the card I taught at Card Club last week. Having a Ball by Nylene Budge, on Flickr Valentine X card by Nylene Budge, on Flickr I'm hoping to stay in the house all day tomorrow and stay warm....and of course do a little scrapping! Have a great night!

I am back in the hotel by the airport. Got in about midnight and starting to unwind. Tomorrow I intend to sleep in, then after my "free" breakfast, I will drive into Edmonton, get my pics from the weekend printed, do some shopping, and then head home (about a 2 1/2 hour drive on normal roads). Looking forward to both the day's adventures and being home in my own bed. Dh saw the Dr again today, and is now on an antibiotic. Hoping that helps clear up what ails him. His appetite must be back, because he ordered a bunch of frozen food in a dgs's fundraiser. And he asked me to bring him a meal from one of our favorite restaurants. Hope you are less achy, nylene . You have been on a creative roll! Love those happy pages, and that card is gorgeous!!! And justjac , you don't need any more falls this winter! Your cards, as always, are lovely. Bet Gabby loved that bd card! Remember that BoBunny Christmas line I got with the foiledRussian dolls? That will get a workout with my Ukrainian dance photos! I hope you find more paper that speaks to you, kellyr21 . Your cards are really delicate and pretty. And feeling better AND warmth and sunshine must be making you feel like breaking out a happy dance. It rained all weekend in BC. Sun came out today, and by noon it was fairly pleasant. Snow on the ground and foggy here and we'll below freezing Well, enough rambling. I need to crawl into bed soon or even my planned sleeping in will be wasted.

grammadee, I'm glad your DH is getting some help with his illness. I hope it clears quickly. Hope you were able to sleep in! I have stayed in all day and have been organizing my die storage which has been a mess. I had a friend drop by this morning and we sat and talked for 2 hours. I think we both really needed that. Lots of laughing and catching up. I had planned to take down my tree this morning, but decided it was more fun to chat and I will do it on Thursday. DH keeps saying he likes it up and I should just add a bunch of hearts since it's all done in red and white. We'll see! It snowed all day yesterday and is supposed to snow all day tomorrow and Thursday. I don't look forward to going to school in it. How long til Spring? I hope you are all keeping warm and are getting some time to scrap. BBL

justjac - thank you for your kind words about my CalvinBall activity, I sure hope I will be able to match my success of last year. Your cards are wonderful. The colors are so bold and the overall look is very artistic on both of them. Thank you for sharing. nylene - darling page, and stupendous card. I wish I could have attended your Card Club, I would love to learn how to make that card. It is outstanding. I have been enjoying my tennis (getting up at 1AM to watch Nadal one night and Federer the next had been fun). The Williams sisters are both into the semi final and I believe both play tonight. Here is the 1st of several pages I made on Saturday. My Pretty Little Kitty is at the vet as I write this, she had to go in for her spaying surgery. We get to bring her home today. Ol' Desmond (my tabby) sure has missed her.

Hello, maribeth! Sweet page. I left some love in the Gallery. I put together 4 Chriatmas pages today. They are in the Gallery and I linked them to the thread on scrapping Christmas. I was surprised how quickly they came together, but then I have all my Christmas scrappy stuff all over my scrap counters, and the photos are sorted and stacked just to the side, so I really just have to grab, glue and go! Well, and look for things: at one point I could NOT locate either my scissors OR an xacto knife. That kind of scared me, so after I found a pair of scissors in the kitchen, I finished the page and then started carefully clearing the part of the one counter where I was sure they were. I found: 4 pairs of scissor, 2 xacto knives, and a piercing tool among all those papers and embellishments...

@gammadee and nylene - thank you for your kind words on my page. I enjoyed putting that one together - Kitty is home from her surgery, and DH and I have been taking turns staying up making sure she does not lick her incision, and making sure Desmond does not lick her either. It has been a long night. But hey, my girls are in the final at the Australian Open, and Federer is battling for his place in the final right now. grammadee - I hear you on the scissors and the xacto knives. I do the same thing. I think we should just have one of each so that way we are forced to keep an eye on them - LOL - Left love in the gallery for your pages, they are wonderful. Thank you as always for sharing them. You give me such great inspiration.

Another one of my pages from Saturday's scrap session. Used a Get It Scrapped Sketch as my jumping off point. GIS Bundle 95 layout C. Having fun following along with the challenges on their Style is Leverage week over on their FaceBook page. This series really came along at such a good point. I seem to struggle with my "mojo" when I start trying to make pages that emulate the designers, and you know, that is just not me. I need to scrap to make ME happy. When I can get into that mindset then everything seems to flow, I can get pages done, enjoy the process, and like the end results. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Good morning Pokey's! hope everyone is doing well. I actually did a layout last night so posted it this morning. It was nice to actually feel excited about scrapping a page! Maybe my mojo is back! I will be adding it to my blog also. maribeth- nice to see you have done a couple of pages! They are beautifully done and I will be going over to the gallery shortly to leave some love! grammadee- glad you are home safe and sound and feeling bad about your DH's truck. I can't believe they hit and run. That's becoming a problem in this world-no one wants to admit their mistakes. From your searching you must scrap like I do. I make such a mess. I make even more of a mess making cards/1 don't know why but I do. kellyr21 Glad to hear you and Ron are on the mend! Now staying that way will be difficult with all the bugs going around but hope you get thru it without being sick. justjac-sounds like you had a nice visit with family. Hope your Dad's treatment get easier. Will keep in in my thoughts and prayers. LisaDV sure hope all is going well with you and your family. Is your computer still putting that smile on your face? Well going to get off and do some mending I need to do, then the kitchen floor. Have a good day everyone! here's the link to my layout Uniquely You by Cindy Blair, on Flickr

scrapincin - gorgeous page, I love all the texture work you have done on the page. This is really the "in" sytle, and you have done it so well. I am doing some workshops over at Get It Scrapped and I have realized that although I love the look of this style of page, it is really not in my wheelhouse to put one together. I have a really hard time working with lots of white space and light backgrounds. But you did this page absolutely wonderfully. Kudos!

maribeth, my childhood home was just a block from the train tracks, so we lived with trains. I had a friend spend the night with me and ask,"How could you sleep with all those train whistles all night?" I answered, "What train whistles?" We just got used to them. I still love watching trains. Your layout gave me a moment of nostalgia. Beautifully done. scrapincin, your layout is wonderful. I left you love on your blog and will leave some here too. Wish you lived next door so you could teach me your inking techniques! Well, that's not the only reason I wish you lived next door! Glad to see you and maribeth have your mojo back. I'll be back to chat later. I'm doing some deep cleaning today.

Happy Thursday! The rain has stopped for a while and the sun is shinning. I finally figured out where to put my sentiment on the last batch of cards and I do like how it looks. Will post soon. Having trouble with Flickr. I want to scrap too so I have got to print out some pics. Nylene- Our Christmas tree is still up too. I think you and I go the longest of this group. LOL! Since we got ours up so late it feels nice and Ron still likes having it up too. I think your dh and mine would be friends. Glad you are ok after that fall. Cindy- Now we have two football teams and they are both struggling. I hope one of them gets better next season. Geez! Yes, we are feeling better. Ron still has a little cough but feeling better. Lots of people at his work have been sick and I think those germs just float around from office to office. Grammadee- Yes, this sun is making me happy. I hope the Spring comes soon to you all. Glad you had a nice trip too. Maribeth- Oh is your little kitten ok? I hope she is feeling better. And I see you got your mojo back too. Your layouts look good girl!

Good Thursday evening, Pokeys. Busy day for me today. Started with a hair appointment this morning--my cut last week took off most of the colour, so I went in today to have it put back in. Then I paid some bills, drove to a different town, picked up some bd gifts for dh, had lunch then a physio appointment. When I got home, I started dh's bd card (his bd is Friday). We went to his seniors' club for pancake supper and card games tonight. When we got home, I worked a little more on the card. It will dry over night and I can assemble it in the morning. Tomorrow I also have to clean house: dd & the little man will be here for the weekend. We are planning to go out for supper for dh's bd tomorrow evening. On Saturday, dd & I will take down the tree and store all the Christmas magic away until next fall. Hope your weather is warming up, nylene. That is just too much snow! How are you feeling after your fall and all that house cleaning? Lovely work, Ladies! So nice to see everyone crafting! maribeth, I would definitely say you have your mojo back! It's so true, we really have to be true to our own style: very often we are stymied when trying to create something pleasing to someone else. Well, off to check the Gallery, and then soon to bed for me I think!

It's Friday ladies......So looking forward to the weekend. Hoping to get some more scrapping done, but it will have to be Sunday if I do. I have a mani/pedi scheduled for Saturday, I usually do those during the week in the evenings but everytime I have tried to go over the past two weeks we had just enough snow to keep me and my nail tech from heading up the mountain to her shop. I just don't drive in weather at all if I can help it. After that I hope to get together with my SIL and have lunch with her. She is the one that is married to DH brother who past last fall. Here is another page from last Saturday's scrap day. Enjoy your weekend Pokey's!

Great Halloween page, maribeth! Left some love in the Gallery. Here is the card I made for dh's bd today: hb71 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Gotta go. Lots of cleaning and organizing to do today: taking the decorations off the tree, clearing the stairs so dd & dgs can get up to their bedrooms, basically putting Christmas away

Hi, Pokeys! I love seeing so many project posted. I think I'm caught up in the gallery. I love the creativity that exists here. You guys do great work! Wanted to let you know that scrapincin 's layout of Maggie was selected as one of the top layouts of the day at Scrapbook.com. They added her layout to their daily newsletter sent to all their customers today. Congrats, Cindy. I got my tree taken down yesterday. I hated to see it go. My living room looks empty without it. But I guess it was time. kellyr21, I agree that your DH and mine would probably really like each other. grammadee , it does sound like things are busy at your home. I hope your DH is totally well for your Birthdays! I have stuff set out to do a 2-pager. I hope to get time to work on it tonight. Last night our neighbors called and insisted that they take us to dinner for all the snowblowing Steve has done in the neighborhood. It was a fun get-together. They also invited another neighbor (and wife) who has a plow and plows out the cul-de-sacs where the city plows don't go. This is the 4th day in a row that it has had to be plowed. The sun is out now, but it's only 18 degrees. At least it's too cold to snow more today. Have a great weekend. I will try to get back on before it's over.

Good evening all of you Pokey's! Hope everyone has their weekend off to a great start. I had a great day today. Hope you have a good weekend and get to scrap a little! nylene- what would I do without you! You just made my day today! You and Dr. Smith! Can't wait to see your 2 pager! I hope you get time to put it together. Waving a big Hi to everyone! I will stop back later.

nylene , wonderful photos on your Pixar balloon pages. I love the background and the title too. And pixar has a giant lamp outside their offices?? That's so cool! Your valentine card is so cute!! I want to make one. Are you feeling ok from your fall? I have seen that there have been some scary situations where the lakes and ponds have thawed and people have gone through the ice in your area of the country. We just started getting cold again. It started snowing the other day, rained, then snowed again. It doesn't know what to do. The guy who plows our drive was saying that it was still ok to ice fish on some of the area lakes. I nodded politely and said 'oh, I didn't know that'. But inside, I was like yeah, if you're stupid and want to drown. did you say you made page kits for Calvinball last year? I make page kits. I find it easier to have my story first. Then I just pull whatever collection or papers that go with the story. Sometimes I do end up changing out the papers for others. If I have a design idea I sketch it out and throw it in with the photos. kellyr21 , so glad you and Ron are finally getting over this cold. I hope it's for good. This cold has been such a bugger this year and resurfaces it's ugly head every time you turn around. justjac , WOW! Love your mixed media cards! You did a fab job! It's so nice to see family! Glad you got to spend time with yours. grammadee , glad your dh is starting to feel better. Hope the antibiotic helps him get better completely. Sounds like you had an eventful and fun weekend, but there is no place like home. Happy birthday to your dh! That is a really great card. I love all of the patterns. maribeth , your pretty little kitty page is adorable!! Hope recovery went well. Your train page is perfect! Love the colors and the embellishments. And I see you have a fun halloween page too! You have been back in the groove. Hurray! scrapincin , WOW! your page is just WOW! If that's the one chosen to be featured at sb.com, I can see why! Yes, I'm still loving having my computer back, I just haven't had a lot of time to spend with it. I also changed my keyboard to one of the ergonomic ones. They have a curve to it. I used one when I worked in Chicago. Everyone in my family hates it, which means they use their own instead of mine. So even bigger smiles here!! Great news from your Dr.!! I'm very glad to hear it!! I'm still here. Still alive. I'm still working in my spare time on my double page swap layouts. I was at the gluing everything done stage, and I miscalculated my ribbon. I needed 8 yards (9 to be safe). I bought some on the spool that I loved and would look so cute. I read while at the store 4 yards per spool. So I bought 3 spools to be safe. Got home and started to pull from the first spool. Re-read the spool - 4 ft. I had to make the 45 minute drive to town today to get different ribbon. But I found a really cute hummingbird print fabric while at Joann's. I told Don and he said, "so you're making couch pillows with it?" He so gets me!! I also found a different bird print to make pillows with. Hoping sometime in later February I can pull out the sewing machine. Well, I'm off to put the girl to bed. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
