Aww sweetie, I remember you posting about going for the necular test a few weeks ago. I will say a prayer for a quick recovery. Everything will be ok.

I started typing you a note last night and then one of the kids was sick.
I know you are nervous, but there will be lots of us praying that things go smoothly for you.
Hugs. We'll be waiting for your update.

Saying a prayer it all goes smoothly.
There is a saying "The only minor surgery is someone else's". Of course you are nervous!

I'm having my thyroid removed tomorrow (cancer) and the anxiety has kicked in. I was 17 last time I had surgery. I was in a lot better shape, weighed a lot less, and was completely invincible. It didn't even phase me. But now I'm mid-30s, overweight, out of shape. So I have concerns. Basically, I just want to wake up and not be dead. Thinking about you today .... Waiting for an update, when you can.

I hope your surgery went well
I had the exact same type thyroid cancer as my mother did. We were both diagnosed at age 40 too My mom, sister and I also have hashimotos as well
I think the biggest piece of advice I can give to you is read about thyroid cancer and the different types of hormone replacements I can't tell you how many times drs and other people told me ". At least you have the easy cancer"
The thyroid gland impacts every organ system in your body as well as metabolism and energy levels
Post surgical thyroid hormone replacement isn't as easy as taking synthroid every day. It may entail taking a T 4 and T 3 thyroid hormone replacement
Keep a log of your labs and the medication and dose you are on at the time of the lab test You will have to get used to a new normal in how you feel and you have to figure that out. logging your numbers will help you figure out this new normal
Keep a notebook and write your questions down for your surgeon, and endocrinologist Due to changing hormone levels, your memory may not be as good early in your treatment
I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have

I'm alive. It was even larger than the last scan showed so took about an hour longer than planned. Thank you all again.

(( Hugs )) lisa.....prayers and (( hugs )) to you, too!! Thank you! He said my right thyroid was the size of a baseball. But he was confident it had not spread to the lymph nodes. I was very impressed with the docs and the treatment I received. Besides being sore of course and tender I feel pretty good. Cant wait to get the drain tube out in Monday! Bleck!
