Made this storage for new braids and ribbon trims just bought for my mini making. The container is a large empty yogurt container with a handle. I hand sewed a lining and decorated simply with braid and ribbons. All recycled and made in a spare hour waiting for dinner to cook. Attachments:

Nothing else to do on this snowy Tuesday, so working on my baby blanket! Here's a close up of the stitches: What is everyone else working on today?

I spent most of my snow day finishing this! I couldn't put it on the floor for a photo and this was the best I could do on my bed. Not perfect by a long shot but it's done!!

kelleem your blanket is lovely, you must be so pleased with it. Is your blanket for snuggling under or for display only?

kelleem your blanket is lovely, you must be so pleased with it. Is your blanket for snuggling under or for display only? That's up for debate. Right now it's getting packed away until November. It may end up for display...there are about 765345 billion ends that are woven in and I'd hate to have to wash it.

Well the Hygge is no more I frogged it all. Then I started on the Sunday shawl, I got as far as the end of the plain part of the pattern and realised it still barely reached my elbows...and I wanted it at least fingertip length, which meant I was going to have to do a lot more rows than the pattern...but then the base would have so many stitches that I wouldn't have enough of the Catona yarn to do the coloured edges. So after crocheting 8 balls - I frogged it all again! Version 3 is now the "Sunday Hygge" I am using the same stitch pattern as the Sunday shawl, but doing it in a wrap style like the Hygge and will do the coloured part on both ends. That's a lot more practical as each end is only 72 stitches across whereas the shawl style would have ended up close to 500 stitches along the bottom edge. I think I'm happily on the right track with this now.
Just happened across this and thought it might be good with the Whirl... tunic topThat is pretty. My order hasn't arrived yet, but people have started posting photos of the different Whirls as they get delivered...and it looks even better than the website photos so now I'm very excited to get mine. I'm thinking of doing something like this RuanaI spent most of my snow day finishing this! That's so cute! I'm sure your Christmas visitors will love that for many years to come.
Have you seen the new Attic 24 "Hydrangea" pattern? She's only posting a few preview pictures so far but I like the colours (includes the 2 new Stylecraft Special DK colours). pattern will be available in April.

I just joined a knitting group, and am knitting for the first time in probably 25 years. I'm making a hat. It's exciting to be knitting again, since I've been more involved with scrapbooking and papercrafting. Needle and fabric arts are my first love. Everyone's projects are beautiful!

Aw, pjaye I'm sorry you have had so much hassle. Hopefully you will end up with something you really enjoy. KelleeM your blanket is fabulous. What a great thing to use each Christmas. I'm loving seeing everyone's different crafts. I've finished the next section of my Hygge. I might tweak it once the centre panel is done as it may look silly but for now it makes me smile. I designed cross stitch patterns for myself years ago but I found this really difficult, probably because the stitches are so big. ETA, I should have said the original pattern was 3 'flowers' and I chose to do my own design in this section.

gillyp - the Hygge is looking so nice! I am currently working on what I like to call an "unintentional baby blanket". As I mentioned earlier in this thread, a designer asked me to make a ski hat to post on her website, as a result, I had a lot of baby yarn left over. A friend's daughter is having a baby in August so I thought I would make her a baby blanket with the left over yarn. I had planned to start a knitted shawl for my mom but have unintentionally found myself making a baby blanket that I hadn't really planned. I'm not using a pattern per se...just making simple granny squares. Here is so far.

VENT:
You know that voice in you head? The one that tells you don't cut that fabric that size?
I didn't listen to that voice, and cut out four blocks the wrong size. Too small. I had to go buy more fabric. And why could this have not been the cheap fabric!

Very Eastery! They are! JoP you did a great job for a first attempt, your stitches look lovely and neat. Are you going to add a border or is that a step too far?

I really like your Cosy Stripe JoP. The colours remind me of something but I can't think what! I really like them together. Oh dear, @megmc.

Finally finished my grandson's blanket! It measures 33 1/2" x 33 1/2". I thought it'd be bigger. It also doesn't seem to be the same measurement on one end to the other. I know my edges were even though, so I don't get it. Oh well. It's done! Will be working on a matching hat and booties, hopefully!

This is my lessons piece. Buy triple the fabric with a pattern Listen to the voice in your head that says don't cut. It is easier to use a pattern

Since April the Giraffe's baby is taking its sweet time getting here...I decided to make my own baby giraffe...maybe it will encourage the baby to get a move along a little faster.
