The name "Rumi" makes me think of the word "ruminate" which is what cows do (it means to chew the cud). But it also means to think something over for awhile, so you can try to think of in that way instead. Save

Why would this thread cement your dislike of her? cause now I'm annoyed and pissy about it, as in..don't tell me who to like. Don't tell me I'm a racist because I don't like her..I mean seriously? Come on.. well, I don't think anyone is telling anyone else who to like, just voicing disagreement over the reasons why I guess. I'll love her enough for the both of us. 4-eva 💘💞💜💗

I don't know Beyonce any more than any of you do. But I loathe our culture of celebrity worship. I dislike her music. I think it's hilarious that she's credited as a brilliant artist when she's got a list of producers a mile long for every one of her songs. She doesn't write her songs, and she doesn't play any instruments. I think it's ridiculous that she, and ANY celebrity, are considered important enough to be talked about on the news.
But, according to some of you, my opinion isn't valid. I must be racist and misogynist because I dislike Beyonce.
And, with that, I have spent way more of my time discussing this person than I ever cared to. It's hilarious how many people are convinced that Beyonce is kind and humble or awful and shallow, when the truth is that none of us know her. This is all speculation and I'd much rather spend my time worrying about shit that actually impacts my life.

Rumi is also the name of a surgical instrument used to manipulate the uterus during laparoscopic procedures. I think if people want to name their children something unique the should do a little Google research on the name first, but that's just me. Cute babies though . But "John" is used to mean "toilet", and it's a completely traditional name. Plus you never know when someone will name an object a name that can also be a given name after you've already used it. think of that diet pill, Alli. Although different in pronunciation, the look of it is still the same or similar to a name many girls already had before the company chose it for their product. Nor do you know when a given name may become linked to something negative in the news, such as Isis. Save

She's overexposed (in more ways than one) although less lately until the new picture. I feel the same way about other celebrities. I get tired of seeing their damn faces everywhere. I can smack on Jennifer Aniston or Madonna or if that works better because I'm mostly white.
I got nothing bad to say about Oprah. I admire her rise to the top in the entertainment industry despite not being a skinny woman and black which was probably the biggest obstacle for her to overcome.

I don't think anyone here called you a racist except maybe olan, and no one is claiming to know she's (Beyonce) humble, just, you know, offering an OPPOSING view based on watching her documentary or the lack of salacious behavior on her part. She actually does write her songs, albeit of course with help. Her Lemonade album was entirely her project. Did she have assistance, yes...She's a performer. That's why there are producers. That's not celebrity worship, that's just facts. (Though I have long worshipped her incredibly perfect hair, and yes I'll spare anyone from needing to point out that she usually has extensions, we get that) But you do you. As they say.

I remember when people here were trashing Mario Lopez on DWTS years ago they were saying he was so 'smarmy and greasy'. WTF he should have won. I didn't lose my shit over it though, and start pasting articles, accusing people and crap like that. Crazy town. He cheated once on that one girl when he was much younger, but look at him now, he's been married happily and settled down with a nice, attractive, but very real looking regular gal. I love him. It could be way worse, we've seen some crazy celebrity names. I don't mind the Rumi.. but ya I agree on all the Sir stuff. WHY?! That's a special title anyway not that the kids is anymore special... but it's a bit over the top. The Carter and and Rumi are cute on their own.

I don't care for divas. I much prefer down-to-Earth humble-pie type people Unless you know someone in person I'm not sure how you can make that judgement. what? I'm confused. How can I know that I don't like divas? How can I know someone is a diva?

Don't know if you noticed or not but the flower arrangement appears to be the same one that she stood in front of when she was pregnant. So I'm guessing that they are fake flowers? What do u think? If so, that is disgusting. Personally I can't stand this type of photo. Only saw it because the peas mentioned it.

quite honestly, when I first saw the photo, I thought it was so out of place that someone MUST have Photoshopped her and the babies into a photo of flowers, just as a joke!! Something about the blue veil, or the way she's posed, or something, just makes it look 'fake' to me. and in my opinion, someone who would stage and post a photo like that (flowers, veil, etc. etc.) seems just a tad bit too full of themselves-- like, unless she wears veils as everyday formal attire, or something like that, then WTF are you doing posing wearing a veil?? (like oh yvonne said, it seems too much like she's a deity-wannabe.) But I'm not a fan of any overly-posed, staged photos in general, so there is that. (I've never liked the 'Old West' type photos you can get done some places, either, so for the record, I'm an equal-opportunity staged-photo hater.)

I lost control of my radio several years ago, and as neither of my kids are Beyonce fans, so I can't really comment on her music. I try to avoid the whole celebrity adulation, so have been avoided this thread. But then someone mentioned Mario - now that's a celebrity I don't mind admiring. Hey where's my pic?

I would think that for as much money as they have, they could hire someone to make a "real" portrait.
This looks like someone who didn't have a clue what they were doing tried to set it up themselves and take it with a cell phone.

Olan your harshness on this particular thread is a little odd to me, although I've agreed with you many times in the past. I'm not big on 'hating' on celebrities in general. I don't feel like just because they have chosen to live a public life that it's my place to say negative things about photos they share on their personal instagram page. I mean...who am I to judge them? I don't like it when people judge me without knowing me, so I try not to do it either. Heck, I love Khloe Kardashian, and find Kim kind of fascinating, and they are probably the celebs most people hate the most. That said, there are some celebrities that are not my favorite from what I've seen of them. That doesn't make me racist (since most of them are white, lol) it just means they aren't my cup of tea. I'm 100% sure there are people on this board that wouldn't be my cup of tea in real life either, and I don't know what hardly any of them look like, but I'd best most of them are white. I don't really dislike Beyonce. I'm not a fan of the name 'Sir", but it's not my kid. I feel the same way about Apple and North and that Inspektor Rocketship or whatever that crazy name was. I think Rumi Carter is a cute name. I think the picture is cheesy and feel bad that it seems like Beyonce feels like everything has to be 'over the top'. She probably can't post a no makeup, sweat pants, hair up selfie without being torn apart, and I'd hate that life. I wasn't a fan of Oprah a few years ago because when she gave away all the Pontiac G6 cars it seemed like she took all the credit for that, when in reality I knew that a huge team of people worked on that project, and the vehicles were donated by GM, and I thought it sucked that she got all the credit. And I thought it was dumb that she puts her own face on the cover of her magazine every month. But then she became part owner in Weight Watchers and I got to sit it on a conference call with her about her WW experiences, and she was really down to earth and funny, so I disliked her less. But what NONE of those have to do with is race. I've dated outside and inside my race. It's just not an issue for me, and I hate that you basically lump all white people together while accusing us of doing the same to people of other races.

I love how you know what every non-black person thinks. Since we are just one racist monolith, right?
This exactly. I can't help but see how angry and racist Olan is with every single post. Sad. Edited to add after reaching all the replies about my "harshness": I am having a great day. Beyoncé is the least of things to get me riled up. I pointed out how I see things. You can disagree. Maybe I am wrong about Serena Williams and Simone Biles, and Simone Manuel. They could all be lying about the experiences they've had as black women in their respective sport. I am not even one of those people who has to have the last word. I get that what I think of you means nothing. I also understand that America probably won't change So I may as well get comfortable with pointing out the instances in my every day*shrugs * Why am I angry and racist? No one is really disputing what I am saying are they? White people have done some pretty shitty things. To everyone not just black people. How does that somehow reflect on me. Because I think you need to confront it? Because I show you links of white people behaving just like they have in decades pass? Because I point out your silly hate of Oprah is likely because you hate seeing black women win? Here's a good read: www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/157368878/Audre-Lorde-The-Uses-of-Anger

I will admit to hating Beyonce. And when I look at the babies up close she is using her fingers on her right hand to prop up the face of the baby on the right. I looks mean to me in some way. But like I said, I do hate her.

Beyonce hatin' gets me all het up. Seriously. No one here can provide a single reason why she should be called a narcissist or accused of using her babies as props. Celebrity hate threads are so ridiculous in most every instance. Tell me exactly how many times you've seen a photo of Blu Ivy and then get back to me about how she uses her kids as props. Tell me one instance of her behavior that could lead any sensible person to state that she's a narcissist and a drama queen. You can't, period. She mainly just performs and lives her life. She's very low-key considering how hugely famous she is. She's a performer, it's natural for her WORK to be dramatic. But I don't see her doing anything controversial (except that one time when white people got mad because she remembered she was black and protested police shootings), I've never seen her labia, and she's never been photographed doing anything negative. Ugghh She's successful, gorgeous and beyond rich, people don't like that. SaveThat has absolutely nothing to do with why I don't like her. She's just not my thing. Period.
