haven't looked at the kit, but I have an issue with the saying 'best thing since slice bread' if that's how it's written- because it's supposed to be 'best thing since sliceD bread.' *Slice bread* isn't a thing; it's SLICED bread. Thank you! I thought dropping the d was an American thing, but I’m guessing it’s more of a “none of us are good at grammar” thing. Ack! You can accuse us of a lot of things, but not that! I always have a little physical reaction to things printed incorrectly. I'm going to make an excellent old lady. |

I realized that it seems like she picks 5ish main colors each month--This month I think the colors she focused on were green, yellow, red, dark aqua & light blue. But it seems like she's choosing from the same universe of like 20 colors total, and just mixing and matching from the same palette every month. But, it doesn't seem like she's used all 5 of these colors together before, but she has used a partial combo--some examples of kits that used the same colors: Eat has the same yellow, red, green, and light blue: aliedwards.com/2017/03/story-kit-story-stamp-eat I think this is the one that seemed so similar to me. I just got the new product email and have to say, who thevf*ck is she to charge $35 for a tank top? That is identical to the tank I got on my honeymoon in Jamaica, the quality is cheap. Meant to be worn a few times. I certainly didn't pay $35 for it.
And $10 for 4 rubber words, $2.50 a word. I wouldn't pay that if it was in the popes handwriting. I'm in a foul mood and Jesus fuck are her prices ridiculous.

But I think it's a combination of recycled color schemes, designs, and products. It also doesn't help because I'm behind in my documenting so I have the last 4 months worth of kits from Ali and SC "out" to work with (I have Alex drawers and keep one month's worth of kits in a drawer to work from--so right now I'm pulling from the June Ali/July SC kits to work on pages documenting my July--but I have all of the months between then and now in the lower drawers to use as soon as I get to those pages so these products are fresh in my mind). I also have a few other products in my "basics" cart and other newer purchases easily accessible and I could pull from that stuff to actually create this kit (at least the "extras" that aren't included in every kit). I was actually thinking of doing it for a photo to share here but I haven't gotten around to it lol. |

As far as the new fall release, I love that she has the larger pack of the label stickers available but I'm not a fan of the color. I wish she had those in basic colors available in her shop. The rest of the stuff seems overpriced or not that interesting. I'm not interested in picking up themed stamp sets like the before/after sets since I sub to the story kit/stamp so I figure I will end up with similar ones at some point down the road (this happened when I picked up the "brave" shop release stamp and then later it was a theme... they were different stamps, but still I don't need two 4x6 "brave" themed stamps!).
I do kinda like the water bottles, but they are sooo expensive! $20?? Seriously?? That's how much water bottles are from designer brands, like Kate Spade. I think Ali is awesome, but she can't claim the brand recognition value like that. And the tank top... in the photos of Ali modeling it there are a lot of fit issues, it just doesn't look good (just want to clarify I'm not criticizing the way she looks AT ALL, just that the tank top is ill-fitting and not flattering... completely a problem with the tank and not her body!).

The label sticker bundle- 10 sheets of the same color? Did the printer accidentally make a trillion of them? That's weird. I love those labels, but don't need 10 the same.
Agree that most of the prices are bonkers. I totally see the tanks being $5 in the next SC Extra Super Jumbo sale...

You know I liked alot of this release. At least her Fall stuff is Fall colors I am glad it is not pink.(Every collection and theme from SC has to include tons of pink). The rubber words are actually cheaper than rubber words from other places (SC). Her cards are priced around or close to the same as other companies out there and they are priced cheaper than the ones from SC. I do wish the labels had more than just the one color.

So I was going to pick up some of the DD digital cards. Except they don't include the PDF - it was asked why on FB and Ali replied because they sell the paper versions of the cards in the shop.
Here's the thing though: you are sold out of these paper kits. So people can't buy them anymore. And now that they are intentionally causing me more work by just including the PNG, I won't buy the digital kits. Just kinda seems like a bitchy thing to do when it wouldn't take them that much work. They do provide the PDF for every other kit. But refuse to give PDF's for December Daily.
Thats all well and good, but for someone like me who doesn't have the time/energy to mess with PNG's, they are missing out on money.

I think for me... I'm annoyed that the computer crashed repeatedly when I ordered, I'm annoyed my package took longer to come than last year and tracking didn't work, and I'm annoyed that DD shipping seemed to impact the shipping of my regular monthly kits. But at the end of the day, the products are pretty and they look to be good quality (so far, I only briefly looked through them last night but haven't really dug in yet). Unless I actually didn't get my kit or it came too late for me to create my album in December, I am going to grump about it, but I'll continue ordering as long as I like the actual products.
I like the race to get the kits out... it gives us more options and more time to pick what we want. I think it's smart to move it earlier so there is plenty of time to work out shipping and make sure everyone has everything well in time to create their project (even internationals who had an item missing or broken and had to have it replaced). I liked how Ali did the sneaks last year with revealing a designer a day, but I guess that didn't make sense this year with just the two mini kit designers. I do wish some of the other brands would try to match her timeline a little better so that we can make an informed decision in selecting our products... at least have reveal within her order period. I think Ali needs to make sure to stock enough of the kits to not sell out... they should always aim to have some extra to sell for discount next year.
Where did you see her suggest pre-orders in July?

In the DD Facebook groups, AED said in a 9/7/17 post that they were looking at how to improve the ordering process , and no options were off the table, including preorders. The post said she has reservations about true preorders due to potential quality and manufacturing timeline issues. Based on previous comments about how the process works, she has order the products in July to account for setup, manufacturing time, quality control checks, shipping to the US, packaging of kits, and shipping to consumers by October. Honestly, I think July would be pushing it. |

I wish I knew this thread existed months ago. I love Ali's stuff, but Inked is making me want to quit. Shipping delays, but then my kit is coming Mail Innoventions this month instead of first class that adds a week to my delivery There is always a problem with the DD products. Quality control also not a strong Inked department. Yes, why are there ten tan labels in a pack? Who needs that many of a bland color? The mini inks are priced a little high, but everything else seems about average. |

I didn't order any Christmas stuff from citrus twist but if I had, I would have ordered on October 1, and received it last week with my kits on October 12. How hard is that? |

I don't remember any issues with DD last year but I didn't try to order right away like I did this year. It shipped the first week in October. There was an issue with the silk screens but they refunded them so it was ok by me. The regular kits taking 2weeks and the the DD and kit shipping late is annoying. Is it the end of the world no but I will remember and will have to really like her stuff to order next year. Of course if smart I would just use my stash I will have more than enough. I do like the quality of her cards and like her style but not really loving the stamps the last few months. If I don't start liking them I will be dropping. There are other options. I also could be fine just using everything in my stash for quite a while. I'm also loving Elle's studios stamps lately. I find myself using them quite a bit.
