Kind of hard to get information about products from videos when you’re mostly deaf. My hearing aids don’t do well with videos. How incredibly insensitive of AE. Not only that, it’s bad business not to have an accurate description of your products sold online. katiejaeger Is this something that can be fixed for future months? It is helpful to everyone to have descriptions of the add-ons via the website instead of just a video overview of the item?

Along the lines of unusable sayings...I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I don’t get why this quote was made into a stamp: “I am learning to love the sound of my feet walking away from things not meant for me.” One journal card, maybe for certain people...but how many times is someone really going to stamp that? Not something I'd ever use, especially on a stamp.

I'm kind of wandering off here within the conversation that is happening but can someone tell me the weight of cardstock that Ali's 3x4 cards are printed on? I have always loved how super thick they are. They are very comparable to KP's. I don't sub any more but have a few cards left at home I must take a look at. Just wondering if it's around the 100lb mark?

I just compared it to 110 lb cardstock I have and it's a lot thicker, maybe 200 lb?
I wish Ali (or anyone really) would come out with pre-cut, unprinted high quality bright white 3x4 cards and 4x6 cards. I can cut down cardstock, but it's time consuming and never comes out perfect, plus it's 110 lb because I haven't found heavier in the store--plus you waste paper if you cut down from 8 1x2 by 11. If Ali could come out with packs of these cards, I think they would sell fast--I know I would stock up! I think a fair price would be $3.99 for 50 3x4 cards and $6.99 for 50 4x6 cards--in the thicker cardstock that Ali's current cards are printed on in plain bright white with no printing, but that's completely my guess.

@sunny116 - if you are referring to the class videos - they are wonderful! i believe the videos people are referring to are the kit/product videos that tend to be in place of “listing” the complete and accurate contents of her kits. Yes, I was referring to the class videos! They definitely help my mojo and I always get good ideas from them!

In regards to the cardstock weight, you guys may already know this, but there are multiple weights at each lb level. Found a guide here. 110lb index is different from 110lb cover weight, and it's not always clearly marked which is which, even when you buy a ream. Whatever AE is using it sounds like it would be very smart for her to sell some basic white or grid or dot grid cards to go with her printed cards. Easy money, really. (If inked doesn't somehow screw it up). For DIY, finding the right weight card is only one part of it. There's also color and coatings used that change the look and feel of the cards.

Yeah, in addition to finding thick enough, I can never find bright white enough! Everything always seems to have a yellowish tint (even just so slightly...)

SC used to sell 3x4 grid cards that were super nice weight, for a great price. I bought a million of them. They were printed by SC and came in a vellum envelope. They were the best! Not sure why they quit stocking them, as I use them all.the.time. I have a little stash of them left but will be sad when I run out. SaveSave

I am typically a pretty quiet person on the boards as far as complaining or voicing my frustration but I AM frustrated and would like my voice heard. This past Monday I received an email stating that my AE order (my SBTM kit) had shipped. I know that was MLK day so I wasn't expecting it to actually ship out that day as I wasn't really sure if UPS was running. Needless to say, it didn't ship until Wednesday. I am a one-day point from Bowling Green, KY in Ohio. When I order from Ali I almost always get it the next day after it ships. My expected delivery date is now THE 23RD. Ummm huh? That is just ridiculous. That's a WEEK from when it actually shipped. It's also coming UPS Mail Innovations which is always a mess. WHY is everything so inconsistent?! It has been crystal clear for years now that SC doesn't care about anyone but themselves, that it's all about putting a dime in their pocket and intentionally screwing every customer along the way but it's also trickling down and affecting every other Inked Brand. I've reached the point where it seems as though this behavior is acceptable to Ali as well and it's honestly such a disappointment. katiejaeger I truly appreciate you reading here and reaching out to help those who have asked for help for various reasons. I just wish Ali would get out of SC. It's starting to rub me the wrong way and I know that I'm WAY late to that game. I have been inspired by Ali and have been a supporter of hers since I started scrapbooking in 2004. I have always been a fan and still love her products and her projects but there needs to be some sort of accountability held to SC. Can no one stand up to them? I know that I'm only one customer and who cares about ONE customer but the least I can do is voice my opinion so here I am. Break free Ali! Break free! You can do better than this on your own.

Bowling Green has been hit by a snow storm. So have a lot of the southern states. That is going to cause shipping delays for everyone regardless of the state you are in.

Break free Ali! Break free! You can do better than this on your own. A number of people have made that same request for years, especially after BH and ABM cut their ties. I seriously doubt AE will, simply because SC makes it easy for her to branch out into different product types while she doesn't have to do the nitty gritty work. If AE had a limited product focus, she could have pursued a kit like KP's that includes heavyweight cards, stamps, alphabet stickers, and flair, at a decent price point. KP branches out with the options at Christmas, but otherwise, she sticks to the basics the rest of the year. While people complain about her color palattes being limited, I LOVE that it is consistent, and that she typically includes both warm and cool tones for many of the designs. I can use cards across kits, and that is amazing! AE seems to want more from her product offerings, which I can understand. Given the contraction in the industry as a whole, her options are to branch out on her own and do the whole thing solo (which will take a ton of time and money, with a great deal of risk), stay with SC, or go to AC. I don't see her taking on the risk of Option A, and I don't think she wants to lose creative control and we all know that would happen if she went with Option C. If she wants to remain in the place she is now (a work from home gig where people will pay to come to her), she is stuck with Option B. I don't like it, which is what I choose to buy only stuff like the SBTM kit, as I feel it is reasonably priced, and then get other stuff on sale. It may mean I miss out on things like this year's OLW kit, but I have enough stuff to make do without it.

I'm just not happy with the fact that the new Stories by the Month kits pack/ship the same time as the Story Kits & Stamps. I have been a subscriber to the Story Kit & Stamp for over 2 years now, but my kits now seem to be shipping after the SBTM kits because I just this morning got the shipping notification. I really wish they had different ship dates...

I just want to add that I would love the PL cards to come in a package of plain white or faintly gridded in 3x4 and 4x6. I would buy that for sure.

I got my shipping notice Monday morning too via the dreaded UPS mail innovations and it didn't start to move until last night. UPS doesn't take MLK as a holiday. I know there were snowstorms, but I saw April posted videos of her driving into work. So I won't see my kit now until next Tuesday or Wednesday.
I do wish Ali would go out on her own too, but I understand it's comfortable and easy to work with Inked. Ali's products still seem much better than other Inked brands I've gotten in the past. So I'll keep supporting Ali because the products work great for me and are getting me crafting, but I hate that I have to support Inked at the same time.

AE has a coupon code for 30% off one item AETRIBE30 good til tomorrow 6pm Excludes OLW class, OLW preorder stuff, and subscriptions.
Edit: you can only have one item in your cart for this coupon to work. Which is a bummer. I wanted to order 3 types of Page Protectors (with only one being on sale), and the coupon requires you to only order one thing at a time to use the coupon. So I'd have to pay multiple shipping.

You can't underestimate the need for retail therapy after a bad day. My office moved to close to the diamond district in NYC and I thought oh no this could be bad. But miraculously no I never went on a crazy shopping spree. It's just so much easier to spend $ on paper and stickers. Nothing wrong with you at all. You could alternatively inhaled 6 donuts and a bottle of wine after a day like that....so one DITL kit is not bad at all.

Slow delivery is one of the reasons I cancelled my CD kit last year. I was fed up receiving my kit pretty late into the month. I think esp as I am so used to Amazon prime shipping, waiting for a long shipping period, ends up feeling very negative. I know that I have been put off buying again from online stores when they take ages. I bought a kite before Xmas from Hobby Town for my son and it took them 10 days just to ship the thing despite the fact that I had paid for 2 day expedited shipping. When I queried, they told me it had to be sent from a store to their shipping location and then once they received it, it was 2 day expedited out to me. They should have had the store send it directly to me. As a result I won't order online from them again, because in spite of ordering in advance it arrived too late. We left to go to Europe on the 20th
Edited to add: Although thinking about it, maybe that was a good thing, because when we were in the UK our hire car was in a fire and burnt to a crisp including my father's kites and if we had had my son's with us it would have been destroyed too! So hey maybe there is a silver lining!

Had anyone taken Ali's Hybrid class? I was listening to a podcast today and they mentioned what a great class it was. I read through the description on the website and I am pretty well-versed in Photoshop Elements as it is so I don't want it to be too simple of a class but I know there are some things that I could definitely learn. Would love to hear anyone's take on it if you care to share. Thanks.
