Everything AE/Ali Edwards

If you're already well-versed in Elements you might not get a ton out of it. I really liked the class because I was a total beginner with photoshop- didn't know how to use it at all. I'm sure you'd pick up some new ideas, but not sure it'd be worth the price for you. The first few lessons were very basic stuff if I remember correctly.

Agree with everything you said re Ali and SC. Unfortunately I don't think she'd ever leave unless SC closes up shop and she's forced to. She's said she doesn't want to deal with any of the logistics, which I understand, but it also strikes me as lazy. Seems like she'd rather let SC make her look bad than deal with things on her own. Honestly though I'm not even sure SC's shenanigans are affecting her business too much. Her stuff is regularly commanding high prices and selling out, and her lifestyle doesn't seem to be suffering, so why rock the boat I guess

Frustrated that I live in Nashville, about an hour and a half from Bowling Green, and my SBTM kit is showing for expected delivery on the 23rd. I get it, the 15th was a holiday and we've had some winter weather but I never had to wait this long for a kit to arrive when I used to subscribe to the story kit and stamp. In the end it's a first world problem and it won't kill me to wait a few more days to play with the paper, but a week to travel 100 miles? I can walk faster than that.

Ali just announced in the FB group she will be hosting a DD Prep Party in November.

Maybe this means everyone will have their supplies to them by then this year?

They better! but I guess she'll hear about it in person if they don't. 

Is the SBTM kit supposed to come in the AE plastic envelope? I received mine last month in just paper and cellophane bags - and now the same again this month. However - there was one empty AE plastic pouch included. I thought this month's kit would be in the plastic pouch with an extra one for last month? Can anybody clarify for me?

I'm sorted already for DD this year (found some more October Afternoon to use) and I bought an album from Ali last year, so don't expect to be doing much shopping from her.

So, I got the "change" story kit on Friday and I am not thrilled with it. At initial thought I didn't think it would be a hard kit to use, but I really am struggling to come up with stories (I tend to use the kits in a variety of traditional pages and project life weekly--traditional pages in both my current year album and another "me" album, but my main focus is to document things that happened recently).

Anyways, I listened to the class video and came up with two ideas--(1) our external home changes we did last summer/fall--we changed the color of the paint on our house, got a complete fresh coat, and replaced all the exterior doors/storm doors & (2) a timeline of photos of us on each of our dating anniversaries + one when we met (our dating anniversary was in early January). So I put these pages together--the second one I ended up scraplifting an Ali page from "Hello Story" and didn't actually use a single thing from the change kit, even though I tried, they just didn't go. The phrases were all too literal. Then for the house renovation layout I used 1 chipboard piece and 1 word phrase sticker from the kit but nothing else worked.

The sticky note page "today's goals" doesn't seem like something I could use in a project and instead like a notepad you'd leave on your desk for quick notes, but I have a bullet journal plus about 10 various notepads for grocery lists, etc., I don't get story kits for that purpose so it's kinda a throw away for me. Some of the cards seem like I could possibly use them in project life, but it won't be easy (except for the couple of plain patterned cards) and none of the embellishments/stamps seem to have generic enough phrases (except the asterisk chipboard, but those are a rehash of something that's been released before so nothing exciting).

I usually don't feel this way with the kits and have been able to use most of every kit fairly easily in a combination of pages + project life layouts, and many of the story themes I have too many ideas that I end up having to use digital supplies/other supplies to tell all my stories ("best" & "for the love" are a few recent faves). Is anyone else having this problem with "change"?

(side note--I love that the cards are one sided now, but maybe this is contributing a little bit--previously I just used the side that was easier to use and rarely felt like I was missing out on a card I really wanted--now I have to come up with a way to use them all, ha!)

I am a bit worried about my SBTM kit. Either the tracking is not updating (a distinct possibility as an international) or my package has sat in Bowling Green for 7 days.

Has yours updated? Says my package is still in flipping Bowling Green. Last month the tracking updated really quickly to let me know it had landed in the UK.
