Not on par with the current conversation at all, but the more I see ISO's in FB groups, the more I'm happy that I signed up for the SBM kit from AE. I haven't had a chance to use any of it, yet, as I'm once again behind in my photo printing (I just keep getting distracted by other things and just being behind a month starting with October is daunting as the last 3 months of the year are very photo heavy). It is such a fun little package for such little money every month. I signed up too and I'm looking forward to my 3 day crop this coming weekend when I'll start my 2018 PL album. Just need to print my photos this week. I'm also using as much of my many documenter kits as I can. I bought a bunch in the mega mega and super mega clearance sale at Studio Calico. Sounds like a really good plan. I'm going to work on getting caught up here in the next few weeks...a good motivator for me will be if/when I'm able to make sure I can attend the expo in Pomona in April. If I can make it, I'm going to pack up my 2nd half of 2017 PL album and the album for this year and work just on that all weekend. I have an idea of what I plan to pack and while it might not be a small stash of stuff, it'll hopefully fit into just a single raskog and 2 or 3 medium and large Latchmate containers from Michael's when all set up to be used. If I'm able to confirm that I will definitely be able to attend, then it'll light a fire under me to get finished printing photos for last year and get as caught up as possible for this year. That way, at least my project will be set in stone, even if I might waffle a bit on what exactly to take with me. My unused Black Friday KP kits and these AE kits are definitely part of the stash coming with me, along with my Elle's Studio stuff, flat alpha stickers, a few additional stamp sets (plus date rollers) and basic inks I use all the time. I might end up having to watch some crop packing videos if I do get to go. So far, it's looking like it'll be about 90% likely that I can go...provided my husband doesn't get pulled for the 3-4 month trial he's in the pool for.

It is a story planner. She's live if you want to watch.

She is addressing paper quality - says they are between the DD log book paper and journal card paper.

Watched the live video. I like the idea and could see it being useful but I don’t know that I LOVE it enough to spend my pennies right now.

Hey katiejaeger do you happen to know if the weekly 4x6 stamp set will restock? I have been trying to get that set and the monthly to use together, but one or the other always seems to be out of stock when I have thought to order. Thanks!

Just watched the video but honestly it doesn't appeal to me as a PL scrapper. I think if I was a traditional layout scrapper like I used to be it may be more useful. PL scrapping is pretty straightforward and the 'design' is already there in the pp. Sometimes when I want to do a separate spread of a particular story I'll jot it out in Evernote. That's enough for me...but that's just me. I did look at all the products she was offering because I can always find something of Ali's to use and I did love the bundle that had the transparency with the quote on it and the 2 pocket pages but at $12.99 I'll have to pass.

I think it looks like a nice idea, but I'm 3+ years into story kit classrooms so I already have worked out a system that works for me. I went through various attempts to story plan with the GTWB, travelers notebooks, etc., that just didn't work for me. But now I've incorporated it into my bullet journal and especially since the beginning of this year I have found a way that works really well. I think it seems to be a good product but a little late in my opinion... Ali should've come out with something like this early on in her story kit sub once she saw that subscribers were having a hard time actually creating their intended pages each month. Also, most people (myself included) reassess this type of planning stuff at the beginning of the new year and are already into their 2018 system by late February.
I would think that most people who have been in the sub since the beginning have found something that works for them... no need to replace a system that already works. So I think it seems like a good product, but bad timing--both in terms of well into her story kit sub and in terms of right after the New Year. It also seems pretty pricey when you get all the pieces, especially considering this is a planning product and not a final project. I'm surprised there isn't an "entire collection" type kit that gives you a discount for getting everything you would need at once. I also think it's pretty ridiculous that the stickers that work with the tabs are sold in a sticker bundle... it makes that portion of the sticker bundle worthless if you just wanted to get the stickers (something I would've considered for other projects) and if you just want the dividers you are forced to get the entire sticker bundle just for those pieces. I also think for a planner to be effective it needs to be something that you can always go back and get refills for and there was no mention of if this would be something that would be consistently available or if it was a one time release. As most of Ali's products tend to fall into the latter category my concern is that it will not be consistently stocked.
I hope that Ali shares more of how she is using hers, and maybe shares in the story kit classroom each month her planning in it. I think that would help others get on board with the system. However, my system is working really well so I have no need to spend extra money on a new system or migrate all my existing plans into a new system and I would rather put that money and energy into final projects.

So, I like this offering, in theory. It is possibly something I could use (and would want to use).
I like: *The album size *The paper size *(hopefully) the paper quality *the 6 ring holes are already punched * the prices don't seem crazy high - but will ultimately depend on quality *love the plastic pocket
I don't like: *on the paper pad it has a section that says something about 'pep talk' - WTF? Scrapbooking is supposed to be a hobby that you like to do. If I have to give myself a pep talk just to get some pages done, then I think I need a new hobby. *the tabbed dividers - good idea, but to be able to use the tabbed dividers you have to buy the sticker pack to get the labels that fit the dividers. I might have bought the tabbed dividers, but I wont bother now since I am being forced to buy the sticker pack just to be able to use the tabs. *the paper pocket just seems silly. If this is something I am going to use day in and day out, the paper pocket will be torn pretty quick. *Access to products - not sure I am willing to keep hitting refresh tomorrow in hopes of getting a part of what I want. All these components could be made with other supplies I already have, though not as cute.

If I have to give myself a pep talk just to get some pages done, then I think I need a new hobby. Oh yeah, I had the same thought... I scrapbook for fun! But even if it was regular planner with stuff that I had to do, I don't think it makes sense to have a personal "pep talk" on every page? That seems a little over the top and weird. Maybe it should've been a blank space where you can put whatever you want and Ali could've suggested a pep talk as one way to use it.

I like the idea of a story planner I had been using pieces of paper typically stored with photos or in the story kit envelopes. And have been working on transitioning into a TN insert with ideas and project lists.
The size doesn't appeal to me much. It seems large and it's a unique size so I can't easily add in other things to it. If the pads are 8.5x5.5 that size I can work with, but I try not to lock myself into weird sized stuff. I also wish it had a better way to store the photos with a story. That's the biggest thing I have trouble with. I had a few 6x8 photos sitting on my desk and didn't remember why exactly I printed them until I was cleaning out my story kits and came across the notes for them.
Overall it's a really cool line that isn't out there yet.

I think of prep work like editing and printing the photo. If you need to find that soccer paper you bought 5 years ago for this story. I list cropping and editing photos as a step in my monthly PL to do list.

It sounds like a tool for those who plan their spreads/stories. I don’t plan mine that way. I take my pictures based on the story I want to tell. I don’t need this but it looks like an original idea.

Not a product for me, I only do PL and I use my phone and planner to track what I have outstanding. But I can see the appeal if this.

It isn't a system I have a need for, but I can appreciate that other people might and it does seem well thought out.
I like that someone asked about using the paper pads in the 6x8. I could see that being a more appealing option for some people. As you get batches of photos, you could use the standard 6x8 page protectors to hold the photos that go with the project idea in your notes. Or use the storage pockets or full 6x8 pages to hold a particular embellishment or product that you want to incorporate when you get around to it. It often happens that I get something in a kit (like a particular journal card, sticker sheet, etc) and think "oh that will be perfect for xyz later".... and then I forget about it or misplace the item. And I love those larger plastic pockets... I would love to see packs of just those in the shop.

I think the story notepad might come in handy for a trip - you could jot down stories/journaling as you go and keep it with any maps/ticket stubs/etc.
I do wish that notepad was perforated in the middle - would be more practical for me that way

But then, I am not sure I would like it being a half page (using just 3 holes to keep it in the album).

My view is I wouldn't keep the notes after I have scrapped the story, so it would be easier to pitch that way. My OCD would kick in if I'd only told 1 of the 2 stories on a page. ;-)

I think it is a big mistake to have the album sized so that her 6x8 protectors don’t fit. It’s tall enough, but not quite wide enough. As mentioned above, it would be great to stick the pocket pages in to include photos and ephemera with the notes. It seems like it only needs another 1/2 to 1 inch on the width to accomplish that. I like the albums (especially that polka dot!), but won’t be buying them for that reason.
I like the idea and a lot of the accessories.

Hats off to Ali for coming up with a new product. But I hate the sizing and the prices. Just feels like another money machine and I don't buy that the size is more convenient. My issue is that I don't land on one way to capture my notes. I just need to stick with an approach, whether its my phone or a little notebook that I have with me.....and I don't see that buying this product would help with that. I like some of the notepads but if I really wanted to I could make my own.

I wonder if these products would work in an A5 planner system? Then the odd sizing would make sense.
I think it would make the project page much more useful too, as I don't think it is overly scrapbooky. You could use it for planning a party or a project as work (where you might need a pep talk).

I really love the concept, and can see myself using it - I currently have notes and photos and ideas all over the house, and in my purse, and really need to put them all in one place. Plus, like others have said, I see products I want to use for specific layouts, but then forget all about them when the time comes.
My major complaint is the price - by the time I get everything I want, I'm looking at $60 plus $10 shipping to Canada. With the conversion rate, that's close to $90 Canadian. Obviously, the conversion and shipping is nobody's fault, but is a factor for me. But I can really see it being so useful.
I love the idea of using page protectors in it to put photos to scrap, I would do that for sure if I decide to use the products in a 6x8 album instead.
Ugh, I'm so conflicted.

Is there a way you could create a planner with your existing stash? $90 is steep, I’m always saying I wish I could start a company for internationals. Y’all get the crappy end of the stick so much.
