New release is up. I'm not buying anything now that I took a closer look. Are you?

Yes. I caved. Plus I'm the queen of unpreparedness when heading to a crop. Hopefully this helps.

New release is up. I'm not buying anything now that I took a closer look. Are you? No. I like some of the products but not enough to invest that much. I’m going to take the ideas I like from the two pads, design and print my own, and make my own story planner using my extra Happy Planner discs, dividers and covers.

Eh....I am looking and have some in my cart but it just seems pretty pricey for what it is.

I'm undecided. Maybe if I think long enough it will all sell out and save me the choice lol! I wish there was a plain grid pad.

Is the large roller stamp new, or a rerun? If it's new, I may pick it up at some point.
I know the time one is from the first DITL set, so I already have it.
The prices are crazy for everything else.

I got the mini inks, time stamp, and stickers. And the fall release mini inks that have been sitting in my cart for awhile. Standard shipping was only $3 for all of that so I didn't feel compelled to get to the free shipping price.
I thought about the paper pads, but the price feels high so I'll wait and see what the digitals cost and might pick those up.

The roller stamp isn't new, but it's not the one from DITL I think it was a spring release last year. Has phrases on it and most fit on an Avery Label

I honestly can't decide...There is going to be digital products available at the beginning of March. I already have a system in place that works fairly well...I guess I am just trying to decide if this will work better for me or not. ;/

I love the concept of planning stories. I need to do that. I think I am going to try my own system once and for all. I have found that the Felicity Jane 6x8 page protectors fit perfectly in my Kikki K binder since it is wider than most A5 planner binders. I can easily use those pp for the pictures and then the basic note pages for the story writing. I'm so glad AE's concept pushed me over the edge to find my own economical way to do it.

I shouldn't have looked at Ali's blogpost. It's tempting me. But it's still too expensive. I wish the pages inside were in color, I would have thought about it twice at least. ETA: Jennifer Wilson from Simple Scrapper had a similar project sheet for free, I believe. I remember downloading it, but I don't know where and when. It was part of a bundle. ETA2: Found it! www.simplescrapper.com/2015/02/how-to-plan-a-scrapbook-project/

Love the idea of new Ali products that would be flexible enough to use for many planning projects, but hate that these are a new size. I already work in 12x12, 9x12, 8.5x11, TN and 6x8 (my current favorite). Last thing I need is a new size. A big nope from me.

the concept is excellent, the products are not anything i need. i'll enjoy watching others use it, but at most would only be interested in a few of the smaller items. 6x8 would have made this more appealing to me, as well.

In the end, I purchased a binder (and a couple of other items not related to the story planner) I am going to look into the digital products when they come out. I am not even sure if I am going to use the binder as a story planner, since I already have a pretty good system in place, but I could not resist those polka dots .

Yes. I caved. Plus I'm the queen of unpreparedness when heading to a crop. Hopefully this helps. Me, too. I wasn't at first. I keep a running MS Word file on my laptop to record things on a daily basis. That has been working really well for me. BUT, I am not the most efficient scrapbooker, and I have many stories I'd like to tell. My son may not care at this time (he is graduating college in May, and getting ready to embark on the world, so he is looking forward, not back...for now) but he may one day. Or maybe his wife and children (none of which exist at this point) may care. ALSO, when Ali talked about how she would use it, I thought she had a lot of good ideas. Finally, a lot of the product can be used on PL or other layouts. I'm kind of excited about it!! But I can't buy anything else scrapbook related for the rest of the month.

I looked at the new products and while I like some of them I will not buy any at this time. I made my own project pages some time ago (lettersize), which work really well for me, so I have no need for this odd sized planner anyway.

After seeing the full reveal I think there's a lot of missed opportunity. I was expecting something with the outline of a page--both divided page protectors and outline for a traditional page for you to sketch out your layout plan. I think there are a lot of unnecessary boxes (can anyone say personal pep talk?) and not enough space for the needed part. The system I use is in my bullet journal but I have everything really well indexed which is why it works so well, and this product release doesn't have anything resembling an index system. Which I guess works if you don't have a lot of ideas piling up, but I think most of us do. I also think it needs a place to write out steps for a project and then check boxes to check off those steps.
In my bullet journal I create a 2 page spread every time I get to a new story kit class and that is where a lot of my ideas/page sketches come from. I also will just jot down ideas as they come to me in my daily pages. But what really makes it work are the project indexes I've created--3 of them, one for project life, one for traditional layouts and one for scrapbook class (mostly story kits). For example, the traditional layouts page has check boxes for steps (journaling done, photos printed, completed) as well as a place to write the layout size, what album it will go into and the page number of where the layout is planned in more detail. I also have an index page for the story kit classrooms where I cross reference which page my notes for that class are on and check off boxes for when i've watched the different portions of the class + a box for each layout I create (my goal is 3 per class so I have 3 boxes to check off per class).
I don't need a story planner as I already have a system in place, but I think the fact that the products are odd sizes makes it hard for people to pick them up for other projects. I would get the linen album if it was the normal 6x8 size for another project. Also the stickers if they didn't come with the tab labels. I would consider the pocket pages/transparency but they seem overpriced. I definitely give props to Ali for coming up with a system in general because I'm not sure I've seen anything else like this, but it doesn't seem like something that would actually work.

This project really doesn’t suit me. I only scrapbook 12x12. I have one DD kit from 2015, but dislike having different sizes. I also keep everything to 1year, 1 album. I’m not much of a storyteller. My pages are basic who, what, where, when. However... watching her Facebook live I was inspired to type up a page of details from my book club meeting last night. Got all the details of conversations that can be added to my album when I get to that point. But, I just typed it up in word, printed on 8.5x11 paper, folded in half and stuffed in my planner. No need for a whole new system (in a different size).

I really like the transparency and pockets, but at that price it’s over $4 per item, which seems a bit ridiculous to me. I like the idea and many of the products, but the prices kill it for me.
I’m glad she’ll have digital versions, especially of the notepads so those who like this system can print their own refills if the physical products don’t get restocked or are discontinued.

I was never going to buy this but I do feel inspired to make my own.
Get my own 6x8 album, hole punch the pockets the story kits come in or the zippered bags from SC/Citrus Twist, hole punch my own inserts I've made on the computer and use my tab punchboard to make my own dividers.
I've got all that stuff upstairs in my craft room - no expense needed. And it would be much better suited for my needs.

Products being discontinued is what I was afraid of yesterday. Ali said if the release was successful, AE/Inked would release more (stock and items). But what if they abandon the project altogether because it's not profitable to them? Seventy dollars is too much for me to take a chance. Digital versions wouldn't help because of all the work (for me): printing, cutting, punching, etc. ETA: If you don't spend 60 dollars to get the 10 dollars flat shipping rate, shipping fees can go to 22 dollars for just a few items. ETA2: I realized you cold manage to lower the shipping fees from the 22$ I saw earlier. The fees are still high compared to the purchase in itself, but you could manage something if you're willing to spend some time trying, and letting go of some things. Not ideal though.

Ill give her some credit, at least she’s being transparent that it may not restock. She could be tricking everyone out of their $50+ dollars. Though her honesty is probably affecting her sales.

Ali says in the comments that the pads fit her 6x8 albums because of the same ring configuration. That's not what I understood. Did I get it wrong?
