New release is up. I'm not buying anything now that I took a closer look. Are you? Nothing here either. If I can't store my ideas with the photos intended for the layout/project/etc, then it doesn't work for me. I currently store my backlog of printed photos in 2 up Pioneer photo albums, I add post it notes if there is a particular story, detail, or paper I want use. If I'm heading to a crop, then I put patterned papers with the photos I intend to use in a 12x12 paper sorter bag. Tons of room and it's expandable. I typically will print out an "inspiration" layout on copy paper, and make notes right on there.
The personal pep-talk is mystifying. Paper crafting is purely for my enjoyment. If I don't "want" to do a layout, then I don't. My kids have multiple albums but very few layouts of their birthday parties because I don't like to scrapbook birthday parties. So I don't.

Ali says in the comments that the pads fit her 6x8 albums because of the same ring configuration. That's not what I understood. Did I get it wrong? Yes. They do... she showed one in the 6x8 size when someone asked during the FB live. Thank you. I must have missed that.

Did I get it wrong? sorry for my last post lol...I misread your post...the pads WILL fit her 6x8 albums, the ring configuration is the same. They are going to be smaller than the 6x8 album. The true is not the same in reverse, the 6x8 stuff will NOT fit in the story planner albums (the rings are the same, but the page protectors will hang out)

No worries anyway, we all misread things sometimes. Thank you for clarifying. I didn't realize that! At least people don't have to buy the binders as I previously thought. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Is there a way you could create a planner with your existing stash? $90 is steep, I’m always saying I wish I could start a company for internationals. Y’all get the crappy end of the stick so much. Aw, thanks for sympathizing! I do think I can create my own from my stash, especially with digital products for it coming on March 1 - I can print out the planning sheets, and put them in a 6x8 album I have, and use them along with page protectors for storing photos and products I want to use. I'll make it work somehow. This is the inspiration I needed to get started. I do love my bullet journal and have lists of pages I want to scrap in there already, but it's nice to combine photos and products to use with my lists, and I just can't do that in my bujo.

The only pep talk I need - is buy less, make more and make life easier for myself! ie pen, pencil and notebook and above all - be consistent!!!

I won't be buying anything from this release because it irritates me to no end that they insist on bundling embellishments together. I hate hate hate the bundling. They put the plain white index stickers for the transparency sheets in with the sticker bundle. Why?! If you buy the transparent dividers you need those specific stickers. Why not put them together instead of putting them in the sticker bundle?! Please stop bundling embellishments! I don't know if this is some marketing tactic or another one of Inked Brands nonsensical ideas but it is not customer friendly at all. It turns me off and I buy less from Ali as a result.

The labels being in the sticker bundle is so weird. I liked all the other stickers and I think I can use the labels as labels on a page If there are only 10 dividers why do you need 50 of those labels anyway? Include a sheet with the dividers I'm sure the stickers didn't cost that much that including a sheet with the dividers was going to hurt the bottom line. Yet I'm sure people are getting suckered into the bundle for the labels and those that didn't get the dividers are going a lot of specific sized white labels and overpaying for them. If someone got the dividers and needs labels let me know I'll send off a sheet when I get them.

How in the world can they possibly justify 11.99 for the pack of inserts? That is 4.00 per item!!!!! No way does a single transparency page cost 4.00. I don’t care whose handwriting it is or what it says, 4.00 is beyond outrageous. Then you figure 4.00 for a paper pocket page? Seriously? Maybe I could see 3.00 for the plastic pocket, maybe, but even that is crazy and they are charging 4.00 . This makes the 25.00 chipboard bundle look like a positive bargain. Wowza. All of those items are certainly cute and probably pretty useful, but I would have expected at least 2 of each item for that price. Probably 3 of the paper pockets, and 3 different transparencies and then 2 plastic pockets. I can’t believe they have the nerve to charge 12 for those 3 items.
My goodness, they are only charging 11.00 for 10colored transparency dividers, making those just over 1.00each. What are they thinking?

I can’t believe they have the nerve to charge 12 for those 3 items. Because people will buy it. That’s how they have the nerve. Kinda like my coworker who talks on her cellphone all day without doing one single thing. She’s gets away with it. She will continue to do it until there are consequences. As long as people pay 12 for 3 items, they will continue to charge it.

For under $6 at Target you can get a mini binder pack (binder, dividers, pocket pages, and a ruler) Mini Binder Link they had a bunch of other mini binder pieces that you could create something with or pair with some of the other products.

Has anything even sold out yet? That's telling for Ali products. Typically everything sells out quickly... everything except those inconsistent sized cheap looking overpriced t-shirts.

I think this one is going to be a dud for Ali. I'd rather spend my crafting time and dollars on actual crafting, not planning my crafting. I've never been into planners either though, so maybe this just isn't my thing.

I wonder what the thought process was to not include the labels with the dividers. Weird.

Another thing that I find "uncool" is that they didn't include cheap, "essential" items in the selection that counts towards free/ flat rate shipping. The cheapest item in the release is 9 dollars! If they had include AE pens, for example, it would have been easier to stick to the 60 dollars mark. Try as I might yesterday when I was still tempted, my check-out total was 57.95, 59.95 or in that price range.
ETA: It looks like it's not a big deal, but taking into account these 9 dollars plus 10 dollars shipping makes it much too much.
ETA2: my bad, the cheapest item is $7. I think.

I just wanted to come on here to say that I’m a new sub to the SBTM kit, I got in from the wait list last week. They send me a shipping notice on Tuesday of last week and the kits are finally out for delivery today. That is over a week later! I haven’t had such a bad shopping experience in a LONG time.
Just for comparison: the feed your craft kit was released Thursday, I ordered and paid Thursday, I received my shipping notice Thursday evening and had my kit on Saturday. And I live on the other coast. That’s amazing shipping!

I think making the binder 6 ring but not wide enough to fit the 6x8 page protectors is a big miss. Now I'm wishing I picked up one of those super cheap Hello Forever planners back during the SC sale but that Target mini-binder is a great substitute.

This month I'm getting all 3 subs plus Jan and Feb so it's ups for me. First Class takes 3 days to reach me in CA ups surepost is 8-10 days. I actually had my kits ship on the 15th which has been usual as of late.

Mine was broken, but I was able to glue the binder apparatus down with contact cement adhesive. I love the idea of using it for the story idea thing. That Target binder is a great substitute though, and I think they have planner items in their dollar spot that might be worth checking out.

For under $6 at Target you can get a mini binder pack (binder, dividers, pocket pages, and a ruler) Mini Binder Link they had a bunch of other mini binder pieces that you could create something with or pair with some of the other products. That's a great substitute. The 3 ring binder alignment doesn't require any fancy punches and will never be discontinued. The size is a standard Letter page folded in half, which makes it very easy to fill - if you have a printable you want to use you can print 2 to a sheet and cut down the middle or fold it half. And the price allows you to buy all kinds of other pretty things to use on pages in the planning binder or in your actual project. I was confused reading here because the size of the AE binder seems to make no sense. It's not big enough to hold 6x8 pages in progress, if that was something you might have wanted to do. And it doesn't seem to be the standard half Letter size of the mini binders either. I guess the tradition of having specialty items that lock you into their system until they decided not to bother with it any more continues. No thanks. I wasn't ever going to be a customer for this product but it makes no sense for me. And add another STUPID (or greedy) vote from me for the annoyance of the label stickers not being sold in a bundle with the dividers.

I really hate this release. I’m just not one that would need or want to organize my ideas like this. This makes my ideas cost me money. I have a paper pad and a pen. That’s really all I need! I’m always open to the idea of buying a cute new binder but I just don’t understand the size of this one either. None of these items make sense to me and I watched her video. I just kept thinking, why would anyone buy all of these things when I can just write my ideas down in my notebook?? For those that bought, I hope this system sticks around so you can use for a long time. It’s just not for me.

I like the idea of the system, but no way am I going to spend that much money on it when you all have such great ideas on how to duplicate thus freeing up more money to spend on actual scrapbooking supplies.

I like the idea of the system, but no way am I going to spend that much money on it when you all have such great ideas on how to duplicate thus freeing up more money to spend on actual scrapbooking supplies. I agree... especially when I don't think this system is very efficient or provides anything you can't get elsewhere.
For example, one way (off the top of my head, the kinks would have to get worked out) that Ali could make this system really work would be to provide the basics and then have an add-on to all classes + subscriptions [either sold for a small add-on fee, or comes free with each class, or comes with an annual sub/one time fee that covers all upcoming classes] with specially designed printables/physical products that come for each class that specifically address the class content.
For example, for each story kit provide the PDF in a full color print out that comes pre-punched to fit in the binder + a full color print out that is pre-punched to fit in the binder of the kit and stamp + pages specifically designed to fit in the binder that give you space to plan out your own stories for the kit + take notes during the presentations. Maybe include additional specs + sketches for Ali's projects + the guest story teller projects + maybe some additional projects Ali had thought of but not created. Also create a similar (but smaller scale) item for the SBTM kit [i.e. full color print out of the kit + planning pages] and promise to include similar pages for all upcoming class releases.
In my mind that would be worth buying into a new system. These pages should be provided for free download to print at home with each class + a small fee (or one time fee or annual subscription or worked into the cost of the class) for the physical products with each class. Ali could've released the base products with this promise + a class that explained the set up + how you would use the products.
Such a missed opportunity...
[I've said this before, but the more I think about it, the more I think about how great this could've been]
I seriously would pay to have those pdfs from each kit in a binder with planning pages designed for that kit [for example, with a full color image of the kit itself... pure gold!]. But a generic system that I can create on my own for cheaper and design to more efficiently work for my process? No thanks.
