And who doesn’t love an excuse to go to Target? I like the idea of the system, but no way am I going to spend that much money on it when you all have such great ideas on how to duplicate thus freeing up more money to spend on actual scrapbooking supplies. I agree... especially when I don't think this system is very efficient or provides anything you can't get elsewhere.
For example, one way (off the top of my head, the kinks would have to get worked out) that Ali could make this system really work would be to provide the basics and then have an add-on to all classes + subscriptions [either sold for a small add-on fee, or comes free with each class, or comes with an annual sub/one time fee that covers all upcoming classes] with specially designed printables/physical products that come for each class that specifically address the class content.
For example, for each story kit provide the PDF in a full color print out that comes pre-punched to fit in the binder + a full color print out that is pre-punched to fit in the binder of the kit and stamp + pages specifically designed to fit in the binder that give you space to plan out your own stories for the kit + take notes during the presentations. Maybe include additional specs + sketches for Ali's projects + the guest story teller projects + maybe some additional projects Ali had thought of but not created. Also create a similar (but smaller scale) item for the SBTM kit [i.e. full color print out of the kit + planning pages] and promise to include similar pages for all upcoming class releases.
In my mind that would be worth buying into a new system. These pages should be provided for free download to print at home with each class + a small fee (or one time fee or annual subscription or worked into the cost of the class) for the physical products with each class. Ali could've released the base products with this promise + a class that explained the set up + how you would use the products.
Such a missed opportunity...
[I've said this before, but the more I think about it, the more I think about how great this could've been]
I seriously would pay to have those pdfs from each kit in a binder with planning pages designed for that kit [for example, with a full color image of the kit itself... pure gold!]. But a generic system that I can create on my own for cheaper and design to more efficiently work for my process? No thanks.
That is such a great idea, lasteve1! I'm sad just thinking about the missed opportunity.

I think making the binder 6 ring but not wide enough to fit the 6x8 page protectors is a big miss. Now I'm wishing I picked up one of those super cheap Hello Forever planners back during the SC sale but that Target mini-binder is a great substitute. it's just as well you didn't buy the HF planner caspad , in my experience. mine arrived broken, as did a number of others according to what i recall. oh maryboys that is a bummer

Love your input here! This first release is just the beginning for this system and we definitely are planning to add more in the future for additional projects/subscriptions.

lasteve1 I really like your idea! I was reading on other threads, or maybe this one (I forget) how folks organise their stamps through Evernote. I spent precious minutes (lots of them) going through all my stamps to find a saying that I needed and I decided I really needed to spend the time creating my virtual evernote inventory so that I can search and easily find what I need. Its the same for kits! I would love to be able to flick through a binder that contains PDF for the kit and also a page where I collected story ideas....so that I could work both angles - whether its the kit that inspires me, or looking for a product that goes with my page. I also really like the Spec idea too - because I really want to move away from being online. One of the things I liked about CT is that they include printed layout ideas with their kits.

I'd also love a virtual inventory on my AE profile that showed me all the kits that I had bought, instead of having to evernote them

I received Jan, Feb, and March. I forgot I got on the waitlist.
Guess I need to revisit this commitment to project life style I was thinking about a few months ago and promptly forgot 😂

I just got the March kit but I can't figure out why I didn't get the Jan & Feb kits like other folks did who were on the waitlist. I expected to get the other kits like everyone else who was waitlisted.
I will say, for the price, I feel like the kits are an excellent value. The little umbrella stamp is adorable. I'm happy I signed up.

But it thanks for liking my idea!

So if it was before December 22, then you definitely should have gotten January and February.

I was just thinking this AM as I compared the physical march SBTM kit to the 2017 digital, that it's so great that you can see in advance what you are getting (although you don't get all the stamps). I'm never going to have to worry about FOMO and should I cancel or not (should I ever tire of this kit) --- which right now I doubt.

I really hate this release. I’m just not one that would need or want to organize my ideas like this. This makes my ideas cost me money. I have a paper pad and a pen. That’s really all I need! I’m always open to the idea of buying a cute new binder but I just don’t understand the size of this one either. None of these items make sense to me and I watched her video. I just kept thinking, why would anyone buy all of these things when I can just write my ideas down in my notebook?? For those that bought, I hope this system sticks around so you can use for a long time. It’s just not for me. Whew! I thought I was the only one going "Um.....Notebook?" Not dissing anyone who likes the idea - but man, between Becky's magic notebook and now this planning-for-crafting complexity, I'm starting to think people who make money in crafting really do over-complicate and over-hype the simplest things.

I must admit I didn't take a close look at the products until now because it's not something that interests me but I put a mock order of some basics - binder, dividers, pages, inserts and stickers in my cart and it came to $70. Then add international shipping of at least $17.90 for economy. That works out to $95 which converts to NZ$130! If I'm going to be spending $130 on craft stuff I want it to be actual supplies I can use for crafting - paper, stamps, dies etc - not the equivalent of a notebook!

Whew! I thought I was the only one going "Um.....Notebook?" That was my first thought too. Maybe I'm oversimplifying things but I don't write down a lot of stuff related to scrapping/cardmaking. I don't have kids and most of my scrapping is about me, not other people. Although I scrap some pics of my niece I don't really pre-plan a lot. I print some photos, look at them and decide what to do. Crafting is my hobby not my job. It's not like I'm trying to keep track of an complex multi-million dollar project or involved court case like I do at work. If I want to jot down an idea or two, I'd use one of the travellers notebooks I already own, or set up an ideas page on my laptop. I don't want yet another physical album lying around and taking up space. That's just my 2c.

I know this new system isn't getting an amazing reception here, but I'm still excited about it. I intend to keep my Story Planner right here on my desk next to my photo printer. Hopefully, since it will be right here in front of me, I will remember to jot down ideas and print out the appropriate pics on-the-spot. Then, when I have time to scrap...I can grab the planner and go downstairs to play.

I've been wanting something that I could write on for a while. Right now, everything is electronic...all my notes, etc....but I would rather write by hand, and also, I worry about losing a bunch of thoughts in between backups. And I <3 everything Ali anyway...

I got my kits and my Story Planner items today. I ordered the Story Planner inks and the Fall release inks. I thought they were each 5 inks from each of the 2 large size releases. Nope. 3 of the colors are in both sets. I didn't compare them closely so it's my fault, but learn from me and read before ordering. Why put the same inks in different bundles that you can buy at the same time? Black wasn't in either.

I didn't look closely either and had been thinking about purchasing the fall set and then saw that there was a new set, so I auto assumed they would be different, since that's what other companies do. What a bummer! I didn't buy either. It would be my first purchase of Inked, inks, and to date I have avoided them due to folks saying quality wasn't great, well for Color Theory, anyway. I may eventually buy the fall set, because I love fall. I hope at least they are colors you will use a lot and having 2 might be good in the long run? I've had to replace some of my little Versa Color cubes as they had been used up. At least you know these inks will go with the kits......I'm always personally pleased not to have black in a set because I already have lots of different black inks and I do not need another one! No matter who makes it.
