I ended up buying the class and I am glad I did. Me too! I just need to watch the last video, but I'm feeling very hopeful so far. Looking forward to learning everyone's takeaways from this class.

agree with everyone's recent comments on SBTM and a lot of the comments on that blog post - repetitive designs, overuse of tags, die cuts too large for pocket pages, etc.. I'm glad people spoke up on the blog post, and I'm glad ali was able to read the feedback directly. especially since we know there is no constructive feedback getting back to her via the fb group.. 🙄
in general, I miss seeing small embellishment variety (non-paper) from AED - fabric, pleather, plastic, acetate, felt, stickers.. there used to be fewer things but more variety and surprise favorites.
I wonder why they went so hard on USA with the july SBTM - and that no one caught it during design review. why not do an entire USA 4th of july mini kit instead, rather than disregarding all your international customers? imagine if the opposite were true and that flag card was the australian or canadian flag instead - we'd be seeing a lot more "wth" comments from subscribers

I'm in the middle of a destash and organization right now. I was really tempted to buy the class but I haven't yet; I'm trying to be more mindful of how many classes and events I sign up for since I have a lot I haven't finished. Destashing is probably the one class I can't afford to miss, ironically, haha.
I'm not asking for the details of the class, but can anyone explain a bit about what makes Ali's process different or better than your average YouTube organizing video? I found the Plan, Prep, and Play class so useful and different from a typical scrap class, so is it in depth like that, where you do a lot of thinking about how you want to approach things?

I put the class in my cart at 11pm and thought I was going to buy it but in the end I cheaped out because I don’t buy classes. Ugh. Sounds like I should have went for this one. I just moved and am Organizing my scraproom and would have used her videos for this process. I know I can still buy it but if I was too cheap for $25 no way I’m forking over $30 lol thanks for the review - I’d love to hear more for the next lessons as well.

I don't like the July sbtm kit. I love America but I am not into red white and blue as a color scheme. Whoah you have to be a Yankee Doodle Dandy to use up that July SBTM kit!

I'd love to know the differences between the typical destash/Organization videos as well. I'm definitely one that keeps things for that just in case I need it moment. But the last 6 months have been more of a struggle to get anything done, perhaps it's lack of inspiration or motivation more than too much stuff?

Kimba, I literally cackled when I read your comment. It’s true! The only way I could use that whole kit is if I document all the 4th of July events I’ve ever been to in my entire life. And maybe even then I would still have leftovers

I bought the class when she launched the idea. Her design formula class is insanely good. Someone commented that this class and the design formula class should be required for scrapbookers because it’s so informative and Ali said she designed this class with the design formula class in her mind almost as a companion to each other.

Travel kit is up on the blog!
No offense to anyone who likes it but I think that album is horrifying lol.
I will be attempting to grab the stamps papers and chipboard but I will be boarding a plane when this drops lol.

I'm not going anywhere this year so I'm off the hook for the travel stuff.
As previously mentioned - some of that stuff is way too large for me to even consider. And, the use of plastic is just awful.

I can see myself getting the papers, chipboard and plastic tags. Fun release!

So far I think I will get the album, paper and mini kit. I am unsure of the main as I don’t like those large plastic pieces.

If I had a cute retro camper, I’d be allllll over this collection. There’s just too much that doesn’t apply to my upcoming vacations, so nothing for me.
And also, thank you, a good reminder that I need to rewatch or finish Ali’s design class.

I think this is a cute collection. I don’t make separate travel albums or really travel that much so I don’t need much. I think the album is adorable but I don’t need it. It would be good for WITL except I already have extra albums for that and I am doing mostly black and white ones. At first I thought I’d get nothing from this travel release but who are we kidding? 1. Main album - there are useable things here for me beyond travel so this works (I love the washi and felt geo tags). Those big black plastic pieces- I can already see how I would cut travel stories into a circle to make it useable. I could also cut the other ones to suit my needs. 2. Tab stickers. I am obsessed with these and use all the time 3. Plastic tag set. At first I thought I’d get the chipboard set but there are some of the same sentiments in the plastic set and many more pieces

Oddly enough, a couple months ago I would have been a big NOPE for the album in this release... But I just went on a massive work/personal trip for a couple weeks and visited Yosemite. This album just screams the right colors to me right now.
I think I'm in for the album, the main and mini (don't care for alot of the cards of either kit, but really love some of each of them.) I will do the tabs and chipboard, the plastic 2x2's and likely the paper die cuts.
I will probably sell the stuff I don't love right away to keep from building my stash more. I will likely pick up some of the digitals and go from there.
The paper pack is actually repulsive to me hahahah

After watching the video I want almost everything - album, both kits, chipboard, die cuts and plastic tags. Very useable release.

I will be attempting to grab the stamps papers and chipboard but I will be boarding a plane when this drops lol. Totally agree on the album and unfortunate (for me) that it's repeated on most of the non-vellum 3x4 journal cards. I'm not a fan of the retro warm color palette. Also agree with FuzzyMutt on the paper pack. I'm thankful they didn't put gold foil on every item this time - though still on a lot of it. I really hope they stop putting loud gold foil patterns in the album interiors; I miss the days when the interiors were white or a quiet non-foil pattern. I really like the black/white elements in the main kit, especially the chipboard phrases, so I may pick up the main kit for those if it goes on sale in a few months. The stamp sets are solid as well. I've enjoyed the past travel classes so currently considering signing up. I only recognize the names of two of the contributors though so not sure. It would be nice if AED linked to their work or showed some sneaks of what they created for the class.

Hmm. I like parts of the travel release and I was expecting to NOT like it at all. DH and I travel a ton but rarely do we do 'nature-ish' things like camping, lol, so that kills a bunch of the release for me.
Im thinking about getting:
the main kit paper set (might end up just doing digital) plastic tag set (and sell the woodsy stuff) die cut set -- I really only want the 'I want to travel everywhere with you' die-cut so I might see if I can find that from someone selling instead of buying the whole pack

I have so many of the older AE travel sets plus the last few 49 & Market travel collections which I LOVE! So I am thinking maybe the tags because they are so versatile and the class. I actually like seeing some new names and I just saw that Yin is doing a travels notebook. She is such a creative wizard so I think even just for her I will take the class for inspo. And once I take the class, I will likely get inspired by products and get the physical or digital depending on what is left. I am also leaving town for 3 weeks soon so I don't want to risk any big package deliveries while I am not here. I really like the Patagonia vibes of one of the stamps and chipboard pieces. I would have loved to see that repeated in more places .

But the last 6 months have been more of a struggle to get anything done, perhaps it's lack of inspiration or motivation more than too much stuff? The first lesson is talking about where you are in life, what your short term and long term goals for your stuff. She has mentioned that where she is in life she is using more alphabet stamps vs other type of stamps so she wants to organize her stuff where the alphabets are easier to get to and says maybe she will move the other stamps somewhere else that isn't taking up valuable room every day. For me, this type of thinking really hits home for me. Its probably not a new line of thinking, but for me, it really hit home because I am now in the empty nest stage of life where I don't have as much scrappy supplies but what I do have is taking up the most valuable space -- and the card supplies (what I am actually using more often) is harder to get to so maybe I should change that.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw the July SBTM--why not include the 4th of July stuff as part of an add-on? Honestly, it really doesn't seem to be Ali's style at all. Heidi Swapp, maybe, but not Ali Edwards. I went through my July kits for 2022 and 2023 and they are so different. AE is very inclusive for the most part, though, especially with the scrapbookers on her design teams. I'll give her a pass on this one. It looks like she's paying attention to the comments. I love the travel kit, though! I haven't been traveling much lately, but I bet I can find uses for the album and many of the main kit items.

Marked safe from the travel release. It’s nice and lots of cute stuff but but I do not need it. I have 2 unopened past travel releases from AE sitting in my room. I do really like that mug and may gift it to my friend with a camper van. I also like that sweatshirt but not enough to spend $52. I’m also tired of the gold foil. It really threw me in the WITL kit.

die cut set -- I really only want the 'I want to travel everywhere with you' die-cut so I might see if I can find that from someone selling instead of buying the whole pack I'll send it to you. From the main kit I only want the vellum 4X6 cards but I doubt anyone will be selling those. That's okay. I can do without. Good reminder to buy the papers digital. $12.99 for 10 6x8 papers is too much. I just wanted the video and I also like the plastic tags. I want the tab stickers and the chipboard but I'm going to take a gamble and pass for now. So much of the previous releases is on sale. I don't mind buying things full price if I really want them. And I don't mind of those same things go on sale later. But a little worried about cash right now so will be very careful with this tomorrow.

I went a little crazy.. but I always do with the travel releases. I love AE Travel wayyyy more than I like the DD releases.
I got the main x2 The mini x1 chipboard x2 die cuts x1 album x1 (seriously considered x2) tabs x1 plastic banner thingies x1 and I'm pretty sure I'll get the class..
At first I was bummed no Ali, or Jennie, or Lisa instruction in the class.. but now that I've thought of it, I'm hopeful that they will "use it" and share without having to be a part of the class to benefit from their ideas. I'm willing to pay for the class, but I really was disappointed with the level of shared inspiration for WITL. I think "normal" people are more willing to share when the "anointed ones" do. I just enjoy the hype and get energy from it. I really burned out on WITL. My album isn't complete, but it's mostly all there- the photos and words and most of the embellishment... it's just not totally finished for a couple elements of Saturday and Sunday.
Anyway, looking forward to playing with this kit!!

I've been a little out of touch with actual scrapbooking for a while now but I still follow everyone and everything to do with it because it's something I will always love! Having said that (and off topic of the travel release), I usually always try to catch Ali when she goes live and I've noticed for a while that she doesn't wear the beautiful engagement ring that Aaron gave her. I loved it so much and the meaning behind why they loved it and I was curious if anyone knew why she doesn't wear it anymore? I normally don't care about these kinds of things but the meaning behind it always stood out to me as being so special.
