Does anyone have any experience with the SBTM waitlist? Like what are the chances of actually getting a kit when you're on the waitlist? Are you on it for several months before you finally get a kit? I like my PL albums to have a consistent look with products throughout the year. It seems that every kit this year has been waitlisted. I sent a message saying I'd like to begin with January 2025 and asked if more kits would be available in the new calendar year - or just general advice to make sure I get a full calendar year (Jan-Dec) year of products. Jasmine replied saying to add myself to the waitlist now and basically hope for the best. I don't really want a partial year of products if they're even available. I just want to start a new subscription in January. Ugh. I was put on the waitlist in June sometime, I don’t remember exactly. I was subscribed in time to receive the July kit (the one with August cards).

Worse case you end up with the Nov or Dec kit and you have to sell it on Facebook. If for some reason you still don't get a Kit in Nov or Dec, then it will be easy to buy one off Facebook for that one month and then, for sure you'd get a kit.

Does anyone know if AE does a digital stories revisited sale? I sub to the SBTM and my July kit never showed up so I started a conversation and basically all the kits are gone and I got a refund but I think I want the digital kit so I have some continuity in my album.

You could request it from them as an alternative for your missing kit.

Sad to see they are discontinuing the Story Kits at the end of this year!
Announcement in the Quiet kit classroom:
After nine years of Story Kits + Story Stamps ( that's 108 Story Kits - one each and every month since 2015) I've decided it's time to change things up.
As you will hear me explain in the video above, Story Kits, Story Stamps, Just Write and the Quarterly Scrapbook Kit will be retiring at the end of 2024. As you might imagine, this is not a decision I took lightly and rest assured that the business is not shutting down and I'm not stopping scrapbooking. In fact I'm feeling even more excited about memory keeping after deciding to make these changes. Story Kits have been a wonderful chapter in my life personally and in the life of my business. I hope they brought you joy and helped you to creatively document pieces of your life over the years.
Starting in January 2025 we will be offering a new quarterly kit subscription that combines elements of the Story Kits and the Quarterly Scrapbook Kit (read more about that below). This will be called the Storyteller Kit. We will also be offering a new 6x8 stamp subscription called Stamps Are Fun (read more about that below).
Thank you so much for being a part of this adventure (for whatever length of time you've been a part of this subscription). Working on this content each month for nine years has taught me so much about myself and I've told SO MANY stories along the way.
STORYTELLER KIT
We have four more Story Kits this year ( school, grit, fan, and hello) and then in 2025 we will be offering a new kit that essentially combines pieces of the Story Kit with pieces of the Quarterly Scrapbook Kit to create one new quarterly subscription called a Storyteller Kit.
Current Story Kit subscribers you will be automatically added to the subscriber list for the Storyteller Kit. If you decide not to join us in the next chapter of kits you can reach out to my Customer Service Team to cancel before December 31st without penalty.
Here are some details:
Each Storyteller Kit will have a "general" theme. The themes for 2025 include: Fun, Q+A, Colors, and High/Low. Kits will include 12x12 pattern papers, 6x8 pattern papers, 3x4 cards, die cuts, 6x8 chipboard, etc. The new Storyteller Kit will also include a classroom similar to this one with projects from me + from our team. There will be a digital option for those that enjoy that format. Subscribers will have the option to add the digital during the Add On period. Prices for new subscriptions will be communicated to current subscribers via email in the coming days.

Nooooooooo 😭 Thanks for putting the details here, I’m just going to go and cry quietly in the corner now. Maybe I’ll finally start crushing my older kits… there will be so many embellishments etc that I will wish I could get that just won’t be available any more which is so sad as only 4 kits a year means there just won’t be as much to purchase…

And the themes for next years 4 kits are not jumping out at me… But I guess we will see On the plus - will give me a chance to use what I have been collecting and save some $$$ if I don’t love the new kit format

Wow that is quite the change in her business model. Maybe she's trying to avoid burnout, I would imagine it's tough to churn out creativity for different subjects 12 times a year.
Nothing on the FB Page yet.

I’m never as inspired with the quarterly kits - I average about 2/4 that I have an interest in, and of those I’ll buy 1/4 whereas I’ll buy 100% of the story kits. I’m just frustrated that they’re still flogging the subscription horse… I don’t have a credit card so I can’t subscribe as they won’t do it through PayPal. I have to wait until the kits are sold much later on in the year. I can buy Elles studio and cocoa daisy month by month via PayPal at a higher cost but it means I don’t miss out…

Wow that is quite the change in her business model. Maybe she's trying to avoid burnout, I would imagine it's tough to churn out creativity for different subjects 12 times a year. Nothing on the FB Page yet. Ali said in the video in the quiet classroom she was telling subscribers first and there would be a blog post with the details later this week. While I’m disappointed it’s ending, TBH, I’m also glad/relived. I have too much product and prefer a smaller influx of new items and using with my stash- but I’ve had to much FOMO to go cold Turkey on the story kits. I’ll bet she will do Some fun stuff with the storyteller kit but that will Be easy for me to pass on. The 12x12 and 6x 8 papers are my least used items from her. I have a big stack of the papers from the kits I’ve haven’t used. I’ll be happy to continue with my SBTM and other offerings from the shop as they come. Ali was really excited about this change so I’m happy for her. And I’m happy for me- now I can use more of my kits and get them Crushed. But it is still a bummer. I wish the story kit sub could have remained like it is and gone quarterly- that would have been a good amount for me.

I'm a bit surprised but also not. At some point there needs to be a refresh. I don't have a story kit sub anymore, mostly cause of the 6x8 pages because I used the kits for PL. I switched to the SBTM kit and have been much happier. Hopefully those will stay the same for a bit. I'm wondering if the additional stamps are fun thing is similar to Heidi Swapp?

Wow, I’m shocked and a little sad but nine years is a long time to sustain that output. I re-subbed to the SK for the rest of the year and after watching the video and seeing the sneaks I’m kind of excited to see the new stuff. I’ve never subbed to the quarterly kit, mainly due to price, but I like that it has 12x12 papers. I always wished the WITL kit came with papers.
Anyway, not sure I’ll stick with the new kits. The themes are intriguing. Wondering if you’ll be able to skip. I’ll be interested to see the price points, especially of the new stamp sub since it’s 6x8.
I really want to know if the SBTM kit will be changing at all next year. I miss that kit. I’m not a fan of all those die cuts and vellum.

“Luckily” (eye roll) my craft room is full of stuff I can/will use. But really, I’d have l referred seeing the SKOTM go away.
As much as I’ve wanted to be a stamper- I’m not. Lol

In the SBTM video this month, Ali mentioned next year for SBTM, the die cuts would be changing to new “dies” - I think that was in reference to how we’ve seen the die shapes that are for Sept three times now this year. So in some way the die cuts will be different next year but still Die cuts. She didn’t mention anything else about the kit like vellum. I like the vellum but I wish there wasn’t as much of it. I also miss the different types of embellishments we use to see in the SBTM (and story kits) to mix it up. I like the die cuts but I’d be willing to trade the vellum pieces - or half of them- for another embellishment.

paget do you find that you are using up the SBTM kit each month? I wasn’t sad when they got rid of the bigger papers since they were hard to use but when I look at the kits now there is just SO much product to use up. I’m such a minimalist with my PL I don’t think I would use half of it. I really do miss having repeated monthly elements that give continuity to the album.

I don’t use it up each month but I get close enough to be ok with it. I *could* use it all but I like to incorporate other things, too, plus I don’t want to use things I don’t like. I look at the extra vellum as a bonus- some pieces I like and swap out for cards I don’t (and back with cardstock usually). I am trying to use the pieces I don’t like in other ways- like I’ll use a 4x6 card flipped over to make my own card or “mount” smaller pictures in a big pocket to keep them secure. I’ve used extra diecuts in my WITL. If I really don’t like something I throw it away (hello ugly faces in Aug kit!). It is a little too much product for me but I make it work and I find it a great deal for all the pieces so I don’t feel bad for anything I don’t end up using. It’s nice to have more choices. Last year was a little rough with not enough pieces due to the papers (the year before was perfect). I’m happy with the SBTM overalll, though!

I just feel in love with Story kits this time last year. I absolutely adore them and working in the 6x8 format. I am very sad to see them go. 9 years is a really long time, but still, this hurts. The SBTM kits just do not do it for me, I haven't like a single design this year. I also love having 6x8 papers to work with. I too am not thrilled with quarterly kits, theme or style wise. I guess I will wait and see. Man I'm going to miss my monthly hit of serotonin.

I'm sure they will come out with some new products that will be awesome.
Can't wait to hear what the plan is for new stuff.

Oh, this is so disappointing! I just subbed for 6 months because I love the Quiet Kit. I was subbing to the digital kit, but I missed getting physical product.
I'll listen to what Ali has to say. I'm at the beach this week, and the wifi is spotty...
I just hope this isn't the beginning of the end. (Dramatic, I know.) Ali seems to be more into her mixed media projects, so I wonder if her company will be evolving. I'm sure there are a lot of stressors to running a niche business. I'll try to keep an open mind!

I'm subbed to the quarterly scrapbook kit and SBTM. I'm cancelling SBTM for 2025. I will use the Elle's studio kits I've been receiving all year for 2025 PL. So that will open up one! I also purchased all 2022 SBTM kits when they were on sale and used them last year. I have a lot of leftovers from last year and this year. Enough to do 2026 using stash. This will also include leftovers from my ES kits. I'm debating whether to keep the quarterly kit.

End of an era for sure. I have to think that 9 years of investing in not just design but all of the classroom content and examples created is just a lot. She has other people doing the SBTM so that is off her plate. My hope is that this gives her some new things to pour creativity into, but not completely different. I have not been interested in the quarterly kits, but I will keep an eye on this. I am TBD on if I continue SBTM. I have subbed this year and not done as much PL as I hoped. The designs are OK, but not loved as much as in past - esp 2022.
I am hopeful that maybe she will double down on designing for WITL, OLW and DD going forward and hopefully other new products. I just prefer to see her designs.

I can't say I am surprised she is canceling that kit. To me, it felt like she was just done with it for the past year or so. It was a good run, but yeah, I think its time she do something else.
I have zero interest in a quarterly kit so I doubt I will ever subscribe to that. And I have saved my SBTM for the last year, with the plan of using then this coming year, so I will most likely cancel that kit after December.

I have been thinking about the end of the subscriptions and my first reaction is man, now I will have a ton of money lol. I'm sad though about the Story kit and story stamp ending. The products and the classes. They have been my happy mail and inspiration since inception. I am not as enamored with the quarterly kits, but I will try them and see how it goes.

I got the email with a nice picture of Ali and a play button to hear it directly from her. But it just goes to the generic AE landing page, no video from Ali. 🙄
Also, turns out story kit subs automatically roll over to the new sub. Quarterly Scrapbook subs have to sign up. Made the decision for me! Plus, I'm balking at the $50 price. I still have my old scrapbook kits I have't even put a dent in. And finally, if I've learned nothing else, everything goes on sale eventually. I wanted those frame stamps so bad and they sold out. Then they restocked and I couldn't convince myself they were worth $30. I ended up getting it on sale recently for $10. 🤷♀️

I truly hope this works out for AE, but I'm just not sure it's a good fit for me.

Hardly ever do I think they are worth their full price.

The story kit was my favorite of all her subs and I’ve told so many stories with it. I’m definitely disappointed. Hopefully the storyteller kit will be just as good. $50 does seem steep especially since someone asked would it be two or three months worth of product combined and Ali replied no just one. I’m anxious to see it. I am glad there are less offerings though. It will save me money and I’ll be able to use up the stuff I already have.
