What made me mad at the kit and want to start a rant is that next to Lisa's one whole download of one little file there was a note that said the team had a meeting and she would not be providing anymore free downloads. No more downloads. What does that cost them? A little bit of hosting space? Then delete it after a year. Do you think it was really "the team," or could it be Inked? I've been wondering about my Ali Edwards digitals, especially since Studio Calico is urging everyone to download their purchases since they won't be available after a certain date. I've gotten lazy with my AE downloads and go to the site whenever I want to use something. I think I need to make sure everything is backed up to my OneDrive and EHD. I have a feeling there will be more and more changes coming. Yuck!

Do you think it was really "the team," or could it be Inked? I'd be less angry if it were Inked. Either way it's in bad taste. Just don't do any more free downloads. It's weird to say something about it. And I'm not mad at Lisa for this. She is awesome. The team saying not to is what's messed up.

Ali stated in one of the questions on the latest blog post that she is back designing the SBTM kits for 2025. This is promising. I really like the first three themes for the quarterly kit but tired of the High/Low theme. Do we think you’re locked in for the year with these?

A couple people asked in the blog comments if the SBTM kit was changing at all for 2025, and she essentially said only changes to the die they use. Hmpf. I was waiting for this year to end and hopeful that next year's would have a more useful mix of products. But same, same it seems. IMHO, vellum is hard to use in pocket pages, and there is a lot of it. But what I really dislike is the amount of items saying the month name. I GET IT; WE ARE IN NOVEMBER! I guess I'll sit out another year.

I know this is petty, but who came up with the marketing names "stamps are fun" and "alphas are awesome"? 🙄
ETA : The new kits ("scrapbooking kits For the Win"?) look interesting, but the first theme (at least) was already made into a Story Kit. I'm afraid it'll be just a regular Story Kit with 12x12 papers and bigger embellies now. We'll see.

IMHO, vellum is hard to use in pocket pages, and there is a lot of it. I use the vellum just like everything else. If I don't have something to layer it with, I just put white cardstock behind it (or the back of the photo in the pocket). I've had a hard time with the sentiments. I just don't use them. I don't like that if there is a quote on a 4X6 card it is also on something else. I'm not going to use the same quote twice. Sometimes I don't like them at all. There is also a LOT of stuff about hard days. I'll document a crap day once in a blue moon but mostly I want to document the good stuff that I want to remember. I'm so over project life. Glad to be done with it. I'll get the December kit because I usually try to grab them on sale to use in DD. I started my sub in Feb. so I hope I don't have to buy a random month in 2025 to fulfill a commitment. I am going to be doing a senior year album for my kid but that won't start until June. I don't think I'll need anything from the Jan. kit. We'll see when I go to cancel what they say.

I had to pay half of the remaining months as a balance. I was totally fine with that instead of receiving several more months of a kit I had stopped caring for. My guess is that you'll have a similar offer from CS if you haven't fulfilled 12 paid months of your kit sub.

I think this may be why they asked Lisa not to provide more digitals. I think designing was stressful for her, and although I liked most of what was included in the kits, I'm not using a lot of the pieces like I thought I would. I think Lisa is a great photographer and she journals quite a bit, but she doesn't seem to find much joy in embellishing. I think she's also a perfectionist. I'm cancelling my STBM for next year no matter who is designing because I want to use what I have. I may pick up a digital here and there. I need to remember to cancel my story kit so I'm not automatically purchasing the quarterly kits! Also cancelling my Cocoa Daisy sub, so I'll be sub-less in 2025!

PSA: Don't forget to skip the November SBTM kit if you are doing DD and have enough stuff.
