Another thought... I wonder what Ali's going to do for the SBTM kit for next month because it has a LOT of references for mother's day so the digital kit came with both Mom/Mum spellings. Pretty sure she'll stick with Mom. Or maybe print one side "Mom" and the other "Mum"?

I want the Home kit but I refuse to be waitlisted for it (and still probably not get it). I will take my chances on finding it for sale elsewhere.

So I am really excited for the theme of "home" because I am a total homebody and we've owned our house for about a year so I have a lot of stories about it (although I already told quite a few for previous story kits). I really like the transparency house shapes and Ali's layout with the timeline of where she has lived (at least that's what it seems like from the sneaks). I can't watch the videos yet because I'm at work and it won't let me click on the picture to make it bigger so I can't read the little banners or chipboard, or most of the cards, but I like the colors. The only thing I don't like are the cork numbers, I am pretty sure I still have some from a previous kit--although those were stickers and these look loose like the December Daily ones (which I also still have a ton of). On the stamp, I'm so happy for the "let's stay home" stamp, I will get a lot of use out of that one! Some of the phrases are a little weird though... "numbers in this home"? I just don't get that for a stamp, if you like the phrase as a story prompt isn't it something you would only do once? Overall I like the stamp set though. The SBTM isn't my favorite this month, but I still like it. I wish it wasn't quite so Easter focused and had more spring references instead. Not everyone is religious and even though I've participated in it nonreligiously as a child, I don't have kids so the only time we do anything for it is when we visit our niece & nephew for the holiday but we're not doing that this year. Even if we did participate in a full day of Easter activities... brunch, dying eggs, egg hunt, easter bunny visit (like we did last year) I feel like there are more embellishments/cards focused on that one day than I could use! I don't mind the easter theme, actually...the downside is that I'll be getting my Elle's Studio kit and that will have an easter reference, too. So, you're totally right that there is TOO MUCH easter. I'm going to have to plan this out and print a lot of pictures smaller to fill up the cards otherwise I'm not going to have a use for much of the kit. I think I still have pieces from my Elle's Studio kit last year that had easter references and I DO celebrate it. I will, however, say that I appreciate that it isn't religion based as I am an atheist and celebrate only in the fun 'kid way'.

This wont be a popular idea, but I would almost rather her SBTM kit not include references to holidays like Easter, Mothers Day, etc. Give me a kit I can use to tell any story, from any month.

She’ll probably not include any reference to Mom, so she doesn’t have to include Mum as well. Probably just stick to the ones with Mother, if I had to guess. So far though she hasn't redesigned any of the cards from last year's digitals and there are at least 3 journaling cards that say "Mom" and I'm sure there are other references, I didn't look through the stamp/chipboard that well.

I think this would be a good time to do a back to back card option like she has in the past with the story kits that had the word favourite on one side and favorite on the other even though she ended up misspelling other words on that card, haha!

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the kits, though? They are specifically geared toward common monthly events/holidays, specifically American/Northern Hemisphere ones to be different than the story kits focused on single words or phrases. The upside is that we get a year's notice to see what's in them even though I'll honestly admit I didn't even realize the chipboard was oval this month, lol. I looked at the overview and mostly focused on what I felt about Feb because of my pink 'allergy'. I swear I'm not trying to be combative with your posts...no snark or attitude here, just so happens that your posts are jumping out at me the most.

I contacted CS because I really would like this month's kit. They wouldn't tell me if I stood a chance of getting this month's,she said she wasn't allowed to tell. I asked her to cancel my being waitlisted and she kindly agreed.

I really hate working with pastel...so I usually struggle a lot with capturing the softer colors around Easter. I'm actually digging the color palette (other than the pink) which shocks me. I love the floral wreath and can deal with the touch of pink in it.
I also appreciate that she didn't use '<current month> stories' in the stamps. It would have been a huge waste to have that repeated every single month. That's one of the things that made me quite nervous when I subbed.

I will, however, say that I appreciate that it isn't religion based as I am an atheist and celebrate only in the fun 'kid way'. I am exactly the same, I just am in a place in my life where I'm not always around kids so we don't always celebrate every year. Eventually we'll celebrate Easter again when we have kids, but even then I feel like there are too many references for one year's Easter documentation. This wont be a popular idea, but I would almost rather her SBTM kit not include references to holidays like Easter, Mothers Day, etc. Give me a kit I can use to tell any story, from any month. I would be okay with this, but I'm on board with it being seasonal. I think a lot of people have complained at studio calico and even with story kits that there weren't a ton of seasonal products for people do document these types of things. So I totally get where she's coming from making it seasonal, but I wish that it was designed with the idea that you will use it to document the entire month and recognize that most holidays (Christmas is probably the only exception) are celebrated on one day--so the cards relating to that day should be proportionate. Maybe 2 journaling cards + 1 stamp + 1 chipboard for it, not just so I don't end up with enough product to document the next 5 years of Easters, but also so I have enough product to document everything else that happened in April... rain, the start of spring, changing time, etc.

I really liked both the physical Story Kit and the SBTM kits this moth, I would have bought them in a heartbeat. I just don't want to sub though, because I don't always like the themes. If anyone has either kit and wants to sell, let me know.

I agree that Easter is just a bit too themey. I would hope she didn’t make may all about Mother’s Day (if I subbed) because that’s not my entire identity, I don’t have a relationship with my mom, and some women aren’t moms. Just my opinion.

We didn't do a lot of our typical Easter stuff last year (we were out of town for Spring Break which ALWAYS falls the week of Easter in the school district here) so I will have to play around and see if I can use up most of the pieces between this kit and the Easter references in my Elle's Studio sub (plus the few pieces left from last year). I would like to avoid piling up more Easter themed stash every year, if possible, as I intend to continue this AE sub for the foreseeable future. When will the April digital for this year come out? It would be nice to compare to see if there is a similar weight of Easter specific product for the next April kit, I just don't keep track of the releases dates because I don't want to get excited for a kit that I'll have to wait a year for (provided it continues...I don't see why she wouldn't since it's still sold out).

What other kinds of topics would you want to see? April for us is a lot of park time (too hot in the summer unless we go at or after sunset when the equipment isn't too hot to touch but the temps are still in the low 100's, high 90's), but that would be quite specific...so maybe stuff about just being outside?

Mainly I would like the chipboard to be more versatile. While some don't see the ovals as Easter eggs, that is all I see when I look at them. For the cards, generic patterns would be good, some stripes? Something that also bugs me this month (maybe I am just noticing it though?) is that there are a bunch of filler cards...I want cards that I can journal on. 8 3x4 cards and 4 of them are filler. 4 4x6 cards and (for me) 2 (and possibly 3) of them are filler (or not easily written on because of the design).

I live in New York (state, not city) so for us April is about "the melt" as I call it... when all the snow melts (and then refreezes and then melts again). Typically we go into April with lots of snow on the ground (which is being contributed to as I type this) and then leave the month with the grass starting to come out and the snow no longer around. It's a big change in my opinion because there are at least patches of snow on the ground pretty much nonstop from November until April. But then, the snow doesn't apply to everyone and definitely isn't something that Ali sees in her region this time of year so I understand why it's not in there (it was especially hard for me with all the rain references in the March kit when we were getting hit with blizzards but definitely no rain). But my "dream" kit would definitely include these references.
Also April fools, Earth Day, taxes (in the US those are due in April), general "spring" stuff like blossoms and baby animals, bunnies...

Good for ali that the kits are so popular there is a wait list. The home kit is cute especially with the navy blue and I like the add ons for the subbers. I'm looking forward to seeing what the dt does with this kit. I don't sub, but I probably have product in my stash that I can at least replicate the look.

I’m sure that it will definitely be more about Mother’s Day than some would like but she was really clear that the kits would be based on last year’s monthly digital kits. The SBTM is meant to be themed and is in response to requests for just that type of product. I subscribed for a year and plan on selling the kits that don’t really work for me. I love the price point and I’m finding that having just a few really themed things is all I need for my projects.

I'm happy with the Easter theme as I don't have anything in my stash for Easter. I'm loving the price point of the sbtm kit esp when u compare Scs monthly stamp which is the same size & price as the sbtm stamp, but that's all you get.

absolutely love the Home kit So do I. I'm thinking about buying the digital kit. I probably will if I can't get a physical kit. Persnickety Prints and AE partnered not so long ago. I think it was a free binder if you subscribed to the Story Kit for 6 to 12 months? Could it be the cause of Story Kits being sold out for this month and last month?

Keep them coming! Also, to answer the question about the May SBTM kit-- We will include both "Mom" and "Mum" cards. I believe there are only 2 that are effected. These cards will be extra for this month and will not be in place of the others that are usually included.
