First of all, thanks for everything you've done for us, katiejaeger . We are a feisty bunch and I understand it may get hard not to take it personally when you know the person whose brand we are discussing. It is clear we all truly want Ali to succeed and have been very vocal when we've felt things were meh. However, I think nobody would disagree with me for saying you are truly an amazing asset for AE and kind person. Some of us have exchanged both in public and in private about you and it has only ever been 100% positive. The door is always open for you here.  PS: we're a bit of a loud bunch with a funky sense of humour.
The Type kit is a bit of a let-down for me but I was expecting that. I'm happy I held off trying to get on the Story Kit waiting list. Neither the fonts or the slightly all-over-the-placeness of how the theme was explored appeal to me. But I'm glad to see other documenters liking it! My personal comments mirror peachiceteas 's so I won't repeat what she said. The SBtM add-on is indeed last year's summer die cut pack. I wonder how many they'll sell with a sub that's literally cheaper than the add-on?  Alright, well, looking forward to Technology now. PS: I'm going to have so many left-over cards I can do nothing with next month with Father's Day being so prominent in the June SBtM kit. Yikes. That's going to be one awkward moment with my kit. Maybe I should tell the story of how he up and left his wife and toddler one day, pretending to go buy some groceries, and never came back?   |

I found the story kit underwhelming. The font for the multicolored letters is old, and the whole thing is just blah.
I thought I was looking at an AE Technique Tuesday stamp circa 2008 when I saw the story stamp. Yikes!
Glad I canceled both of those kits a few months back. I dig KP's aesthetic much more.
I get the SBTM kit, and I am not looking forward to so much yellow in that kit! I need to start pulling all of my AE yellow/orange stuff and sell it. I used to include that stuff in a scrapbook supply swap box, but it adds up!

THIRTEEN DOLLARS FOR SOME DIE CUTS. THAT IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE KIT. WHAT THE ACTUAL F. I am pretty sure those die cuts were on sale this past fall. So they have been around quite some time. |

I really like both the story and stamp kit. Love the colors. I subscribed for both kits for 12 months starting in January and the Type kit was the one I was least interested in but I think this is a fun and different kit. I love the rainbow letters.
I wish the DT inspiration would be before reveal and include their use of add ons. None of the add ons really struck me but I feel if I saw them in action I would probably buy them all.

I was contemplating subbing back up to the story kit and stamp earlier in the year as I really miss the class content and I love what the DT does. But I am glad that I held off. I've subbed instead to KP's TN kit and I am excited about FYC and Geralyn. I'd love to buy Ali's digital story kit but not at the current price point. I was looking fwd to seeing type, esp as I am nuts about typewriters, but the kits are blah for me. I echo others comments - when I first saw the mixed type stamp, I thought it was dated/thought it was a Tim Holtz stamp, back when I first got into scrapping. sleepingbooty There are no words to describe how despicable he was. One day I hope you get to use the fathers day stamps for your own family. |

I like the colors of the Type kit. I’ve been wanting something a little softer, and more like spring. Love the washi add on too.
I agree about the mixed up type. I probably won’t use those stamps but I like the other ones.

So I just got off the waitlist for the SBTM kit. I'm liking the May kit. The red "Hanging out with myself and loving it" card is so totally me! Quick question: I thought there was someplace that we could go to see the full year of kits....am I crazy? Or was that a different kit?

Except to keep the price point lower, they've dropped the stamp from 4x6 to 3x4 and aren't including everything from it. It will vary month to month on what gets included, with things that won't work as well shrunk down being the first eliminated (as I found out when I said I was hoping the heart from February would make it to the stamp set). |

I like the story kit, wish there was more than 1 letter in the alphabets but oh well. I love that an alpha stamp was included.
Really glad I dropped the story stamp sub. I agree with everyone else, the mixed font really looks dated.

Really disappointed with the alphas. I never use the 1 per letter alphas that AE includes in kits. Never.
The cards in the kit seem all over the place. I guess what makes them relate to the Type theme is their fonts? Kinda a stretch.
