WHY does the Amazon description call it a 'bodycon' dress? doesn't that mean body conscious?? It's so shapeless, maybe it should be called 'body SELF-con' for those self-conscious of their shape, to cover it up?? lol. ETA: from Becky's blog post: " We’re obsessed with the double bell sleeves. Very on trend and super flattering. And those edges … mmmmm. So pretty. There are no pockets because while we LOVE pockets, that would have added bulk in the wrong places with this particular style. So really … you’re welcome. ; )" re: what I italicized / bolded... I actually laughed out loud! ARE those double bell sleeves super-flattering? on anyone? And the dress is so awful already, I don't think I would have noticed any 'added bulk' from pockets. Pockets would have at least been useful. One other observation from me- they already all look short, squatty, and frumpy in the dress- but the shoes they're wearing also visually 'cut off' the line of their leg to make their legs look stumpier than they otherwise would if they were wearing a different style shoe- something like ballet flats. and whoever said "Pilgrim dress" is spot-on!! just give them those buckled shoes, and the white fabric cap for their hair, and they're all set! I'm so glad we have becky to tell us what's flattering and what's not. How WOULD we dress ourselves without her?!?! At pinners con the other day, her and her crew (I won't say sheeplebecause that's the people buying all this crap) were wearing matching pencil skirts and boots and making all these ridiculous poses. I remember seeing the pictures and thinking she was poising herself to take over the spandex mom clothes empire. And I was right.

Based on some of the comments, it sounds like some people think that modest clothing is naturally and inevitably ugly. It doesn't have to be. Provocative clothing can be ugly, too. Men just won't care as long as they can see flesh. Meh. This dress is straight from FrumpVille. There are plenty of skin-covering and not super tight-fitting clothes that are gorgeous. Also, the modest clothing vs provocative clothing dichotomy needs to go sit in the naughty corner and stay there. There are plenty of non-modest options that are not provocative. Also, some of us wear clothes that show more skin or are more silhouette-hugging that are not meant to provoke or entice desire. There's a spectrum out there, not two extreme polar opposites. ARE those double bell sleeves super-flattering? on anyone? Southern Spain called and wants them back. They can be made into beautiful, flattering dresses for fierce ladies...

And the cost is $16-$19. She is charging $45. But the sleeves are different! They aren't solid. She probably would like to be the Mormon Oprah. A lot of Mormon women are going to refuse to buy that dress. She is not a household name with Mormons. If I were to ask active members if they heard of her, I'd probably get a --->> or Scrapping is not a popular hobby. Most have moved onto photo books or keeping pictures on their camera like most people do now. Now, if she finds a way to publish a book and have it sold at Deseret Book and have a speaking deal at Time Out for Women, she'd probably get a big following. I personally care more about comfort than style, so I'm not going to judge the dresses too harshly. I just know they are not for me. Especially those sleeves. I do like the 3\4 length though.

And another thing...I don't care to get her emails about wrapping paper, home decor and clothing when I subscribed to her emails for PL MEMORY KEEPING.
Unsubscribing. It's so freaking annoying.

What? No. Why? It's not flattering on any of those ladies.... a nightgown is better fitted that that dress.

Based on some of the comments, it sounds like some people think that modest clothing is naturally and inevitably ugly. It doesn't have to be. Provocative clothing can be ugly, too. Men just won't care as long as they can see flesh. Some of us do prefer to dress modestly but still manage to look attractive and stylish. Unfortunately, while Becky's dress is modest apparel, it is totally and completely unflattering. It didn't have to be. A lot of Mormon women are going to refuse to buy that dress. I don't think enough of her "followers" will be willing to pay for an ugly dress just because her name is on it. The ones who buy it will be those who value comfort over appearance. I know some women like that, but not many. I hear what you’re saying, of course it’s totally possible to have stylish, modest clothes. I’m also someone who totally values comfort over appearance and even saying that you wouldn’t catch me dead in that dress. I’ll take a crew neck t-shirt, hoodie and faded jeans over that thing any day of the week.

Well, just about everything that can be said about that dress has been said, but In the photo of her in hte green dress Becky's head looks so tiny. Everyone else looks proportionate, why does her head look so small? Also, the lady in blue is looking directly at BH smiling away, like she is plotting her revenge on BH for making her wear that abomination.

I get that modest dresses are a thing, but there are actually cute, fairly reasonably priced ones out there, like from Shabbyapple. There is something freaky, though, about everyone having the same dress. It's way too cult-like.

Yes her head does look freakishly small. How strange. Also that unflattering side bulge just under where the fabric is gathering on Becky's left side. Their arms all look like The Hulk bulging out of his shirt sleeves. Not a good look I have no issues with modest clothing. Modesty is not what is wrong with this dress.

He's got this one skit in the "stuck in the 60s" show about ugly clothes and one is this huge tent dress and he says "this is what she wears when she's tired of trying to make it fit and just sews along the edges..." And that's what I think about this dress. Just throw any old curtain on and sew along the edges.

The tiered bell 3/4 sleeves (excluding the contrast trim) are my favorite part of the dress! However, they look odd attached to the shapeless body. The models' shoe choices also contribute to the confused style of the dress. Plus, the photo with the three models reveals how the dress pulls in the underarm area, suggesting busty females cannot wear this dress in any size.
Perhaps if the company promoted the frumpy frock paired with leggings & ballet flats as a autumn casual style, it would be more appealing (at least 3 months ago...before the fall season). Trying to market it as dressy attire that is ill-fitting on inexperienced models (ie. they are beautiful women, but without the repertoire of poses to showcase clothing), who ironically represent their target customers, is laughable & definitely a miss.
Sadly, this entire product, including marketing & price, seems more like a neighborhood women's club or hobbyist sewing group selling a simple project to raise money for a local charity, rather than the work of a professional for-profit business! (ETA: It also likely contributes to the stereotype of scrapbookers as uncool, unfashionable, etc.)

A pilgrim dress just in time for Thanksgiving 😳 Except...the pilgrims were from England, not Spain (see tiered bell sleeves).

There are so many things wrong with the dress it's not even funny! Seriously a more flattering fit would be to loosen the bodice about 1-2" and take in the waist area to make it more A-line with a bit of structure. Then raise the hem a good 2-3 inches. THEN you could wear it with tights and boots or flats and leggings. No one in their right mind wants to look 20lbs heavier in my world. If I did the conversion that dress would put me back about $90!

I stayed quiet about the wrapping paper, I didn't bother commenting about the notepads, but this...this I just have to say is terrible. I can actually see myself grabbing this dress at Old Navy from the rack, taking it into the dressing room to try on thinking it would be comfortable and yet dressy enough for work or dinner out...and then looking in the mirror and seeing how incredibly unflattering it is, and how it would add 20 pounds to me and make me look so blah that I would literally feel bad about myself. I would be ashamed that once again I tried to get away with wearing something comfortable and not realizing how bad I looked in it at first.
*Shudder*

I just Unsubscribed to Becky’s newsletter and gave my reason why about exactly what I think about this stupid dress bullshit. Not that I think any company actually reads the reasons why people unsubscribe to newsletters but I did it anyway.

Are those the Becky shoes, the Becky necklace...... Be a Becky Clone? And I will admit that I did not recognize Becky.... she is twice the woman she use to be.

I was going to ask why they took the photos from so high up, which made the dress look awkwardly longer and less flattering, but then I saw the second group shot and saw they they needed to do that... OMG that photo with the 3 ladies is a w f u l ! They need to take that off the internet. Or maybe not, since it tells the truth about this horrible dress.
Big thumbs down from me.
The clingy fabric is not good -it shows the shape of their bras or camis very clearly underneath - I wouldn't call that modest or flattering. The sleeves are not appealing to me either. I've never figured out how to put a winter coat (or jacket or cardigan) over something with short flouncy sleeves. Maybe next there will be a Becky coat with extra wide sleeves...
