This list is for the central states from the Dakotas to Kansas, and eastward to Ohio and Kentucky.

If you know of a LSS in one of these states that's worth going out of the way for when we're driving through the area, please tell me the store name and location, and if you'd like to add a review, that's helpful too. I'll maintain a reference list in the top post, though I might not be able to give it a ton of attention until after the new year. But please post your stores, and I'll try to keep up.

In order to keep the list from going off in too many directions, I'm not including general art supply stores or stamping supply stores unless they also sell traditional scrapbooking supplies, but feel free to mention them in your posts below if they're amazing. No MLMs please; only stores we can visit.

This thread is a s/o of the How Close is Your LSS? thread in which a poster mentioned how great it would be to know where these awesome stores are so she could plan a road trip. I agree! Let's make some lists - then we can plan our road trips!

Pretty small store that has been open less than a year. LOTS of Disney stuff as Owner loves Disney. If you don't have kids and aren't scrapping a holiday, you probably won't find much here. (I hate saying that, as I want to support any LSS--maybe they have added product since i was there two months ago.)

I haven't been in this store for a while, but it used to have a decent selection. Last time I was there, the staff (Owner?) was so rude, that I haven't been back. Again, I hate to knock a LSS, but this store has never been friendly. But they've been in business quite a while.

This store is AWESOME and worth the drive from anywhere. She has SO MUCH product and does awesome sales twice a year. The store just sold, so I can't vouch for the new owner or what changes may have occurred, but the store really is amazing for a small town in Nebraska!

I have never actually been to this store but I have been a follower for years. Hopefully one of these days I will get that direction so I can stop.

This little store is full of goodies. They have a lot of older stuff, which is kinda cool. But they also get in lots of new stuff. Small town rural area where they are. Sure is nice to have them near by too.

I've never been here but they just opened what looks to be an amazing store! They were just a crop/retreat place with some product before and now they have a big retail area AND a retreat area!

The smaller ones in my area are Mary's Scrap Den in Evansville, IN, Scattered Art in Newburgh, IN, and The Paper Chase in Princeton, IN. While it is good to have LSS I wouldn't say that they are worth making a special trip for.

Daisy Lane in Mattoon, IL has the largest collection of ribbons, twills, and fibers that I have seen in a scrapbooking store.

The Scrapbook Factory in O'Fallon is my go to store when I am looking for a specific color of solid cardstock. They carry American Crafts, Bazzill, and World Win solids. Love the World Win cardstock.

I almost didn't include your Mangelsens suggestion because I was mistakenly thinking that they were a big box store. A bazillion years ago, I applied for a job with them, either in CT or MA (can't remember) and I got the impression that they were quite huge. They were considering an expansion of some sort into the northeast, but it looks like that never happened. Oh well, but to think I could have had free popcorn everyday... !

Once a year, when we drive to MI to spend the day at Great Lake Mega Meet, we always leave time for a quick trip to Scrappy Chic. On the website there's video of the former store that had a classroom for 60. The new store has close to the same size retail space but a much smaller classroom space.

I’ve stopped by the stores in Blue Springs and in Lee’s Summit, but they mostly had older product.

I couldn't find any mention of Scraps in My Book, but I added CF Stamps etc. to the list. It looks like it's a pretty good size
