I'm done!!
(Thank you for the encouragement!)
I think I got everything in there that I wanted. I have tidied my space up a lot, but I'm going to need to find a bit more energy before I can go through the leftovers and toss/RAK/organize properly. I also have to add the photo cards we received to my Xmas card album. That's always fun because I get to see how families have grown and changed.
I still need to write Future Jo a letter explaining why she's switching to digital next year. I should do that while I'm still exhausted!

Chinagirl828 bravo!! I am just about to head on over to try and complete mine. I have just two days left - in some ways the easiest and others, the most challenging (too. much. stuff.) I don't think this year's journal is my best work but hey, I did it and I will grow to love it (I hope) Anyway, enough of this talk - maybe I'll create total magic today and transform the whole shebang? Thank you to everyone who has shared their amazing work in the last day or two. There's nothing better to spur me on and I appreciate you all!

joblackford - love that black background so much that I may consider using it in my own...when I start Your organization/set up looks contained and sensible too. Chinagirl828- lovely work as always! I kept my journal daily. Missed a few photos which I may try to get now (neighbourhood house lights; DH with an armful of chocolate (we got SO MUCH chocolate it will make a page by itself). And maybe in February I'll start production. For now, I'm still working on 2 Christmas gifts (a calendar and an album) that I'm very ready to be done with! I want to create.

I grew up looking at black page photo albums - I think they really show off photos well. It took me almost 3 weeks to realize that I needed everything standing up instead of piled up! And trust me, there was a lot of mess out of frame - behind me, on the floor, and on both tables I was using! And of course almost all of the supplies that were on the floor in Iris containers stayed there - I barely remembered to look in them at all. I need to sort through my supplies soon, while I still kinda hate this project, so I remember that I'm never doing it this way again! >.< lol I think I'll cut down all my remaining Christmas paper and cardstock into card front size, which will make it much easier to store and use. My goal is to share photos of the finished book on Instagram this weekend. Tomorrow is the day when Christmas goes away.

Yay, Chinagirl828 you did it and your album looks gorgeous! I love the soft color scheme. Putting the movies in the circle cut out page was clever. What did you think of the Christmas Prince Royal Wedding? I rewatched the first movie and liked it more than last year (was that really a year ago?! Time flies!)

In the process of tidying up I realized I didn't stamp AT ALL in my Christmas album. It never even crossed my mind, even though I had the FYC/IACB stamp set sitting in my line of sight, all of Shimelle's videos included stamping, and I stamp all the time in my cardmaking.
I have quite a few FYC stamps that I've never used, probably because they're designed for PL/scrapping rather than cards. I should probably admit that I'm never going to use them and send them on their way.
I feel bad when I look at them because I'm friendly with Brandi K (who designed most of the ones I have) but I just can't find uses for them in the projects I do. KonMari would definitely tell me to let them go. Then I can let go of the irrational negative feelings too.

And I’m done!! I think this is the fastest I’ve ever completed my DD!! It feels good. I’m ready to put Christmas stuff away for awhile and move on to something else, like my Yellowstone trip..

I usually find I end up liking the pages/albums that I feel a bit meh about at the time once a year has gone by. Sometimes I think it's just the amount of work we do on them in such a short space of time that leads to that feeling. I hope you end up loving it.

What did you think of the Christmas Prince Royal Wedding? I rewatched the first movie and liked it more than last year (was that really a year ago?! Time flies!) I remember the first year we studied film in English class in high school our teacher told us films required a willing suspension of disbelief. And the sequel required a whole lot of it. It was a perfectly fine movie for the kind of day where I'd stayed out too late the night before and didn't want to do anything except lie on the couch. Some of the storyline was quite ok but some of it just had me rolling my eyes. Like the bit where she finds the giant lever under the desk, which somehow no one has ever noticed before. And the secret drawer just happens to contain documents that change the lineage of the throne.. Or the papers officially giving the prince the right to inherit the throne being hidden inside the ornament, where they may, in theory, have never been found. I get it drove the tension but that poem/acorn thing just seemed ridiculous. And Simon switching from the bad guy to the good guy so quickly.

Chinagirl828 Your album is stunning! Bonus points because I can see my card in your layout from the swap But seriously beautiful, the colors, just the right amount of embellishment and your photography. Well done!

I started on my cookie album this morning but halfway through I had to put it away. My anxiety is through the roof. Everyone in my family has been sick since we got home, house is a disaster, fridge broke and I had to toss everything. I’m just so overwhelmed right now. My actual December album is a mess and I have so much Christmas crap that it’s startibg to make me dread the project. Just wish the bad thoughts would go away.

Maybe you can just box it up for a week or so and give yourself this week to catch up as much on the house issues. Not seeing something will help with being overwhelmed. I would start making a list of the things I need to do before I can look at album and enjoy the process. You can do this!

julie5 Just want to say hang in there. With what you've been through this year, you are allowed to take a pause. Give yourself time to process and play with the lego set (looks like so much fun!). Don't be hard on yourself. You will get through this. @chinagirl282 I absolutely love your pages. Love the pink and navy. lenigirl08 Your album is fantastic. I love how chunky it is -- full of life. Great approach. I did that size for my first album and really enjoyed it. Then I got more into the pocket pages for how easy they are. Thinking they enable me to be more boring. You've given me lots to think about for next year. I certainly use more product when I don't use the page protectors. Hope everyone is well! I'm hoping to play around with my TN today.

I can't believe it, but I'm done!! I finished my Christmas Journal this morning, have photographed it and put some pictures on my blog if you're interested. Now begins the clear up! I am filled with admiration for those of you who are just beginning the project, or who plan to make their DD later in the year. I have no idea how you do it. Here we are, just a couple of weeks on and I'm tired of all that red and green. Bring on the tulips, the snowdrops and the Easter Eggs (maybe one or two bits of heart shaped pink first?) sleepingbooty, thank you for corralling us all here. You did a grand job!

Thanks nicolep! Those sheepskins went down really well with everybody as it seemed to be the year when every café and restaurant was using them both inside and out - they were also the easiest Christmas shopping we did, online from IKEA, delivered in one huge box. They worked as well for our son and his gf as they did for my 94 yo mother in law. Not often we can give them the same thing!

I am running out of steam on my DD album. I just need it finished. Sent off the final order for 6x8 prints and the printing for the journal cards. I'm regretting leaving all of the printing and journaling until the end, it's not my favorite part of this project. I think I need to invest in a printer for home, but really have no where to put one.

I think I need to invest in a printer for home, but really have no where to put one. The most frequent "aaaagh!" heard in our house is as a result of the B******* printer! They really are the work of the devil and if you can manage without one, then I am with you. I understand your frustration having run out of steam myself and had to steel myself to finish it (I am a bit of a completer and really wouldn't have started anything else until it was done, but it was hard) Sending you encouraging vibes and confidence that every page is one more towards the finish line!

I think I need to invest in a printer for home, but really have no where to put one. Have you looked into the mini ones that only print up to 4x6 or 6x8? I don't have a mini one but I think lots of people love them. They are compact and then you would only have to order larger photos, if you really are interested in printing at home. I print at home and it does have its drawbacks though. Like elegantsufficiency pointed out, sometimes they mess up and it's so frustrating. This year I took Christmas Eve off of work even though we didn't have plans until the evening so I could spend all day working on my album and other crafty projects. Instead I spent 4 hours troubleshooting because my printer decided to print all the photos dark and muddy looking! Not only did it take 4 hours, but it wasted lots of photo paper and ink. Another issue is that paper and ink are really expensive. I try not to think about how much I spend on it, but it's hundreds per year (I do scrapbook A LOT though). Finally, I think professionally printed is just better quality. I have a really fancy photo printer and the prints still don't look as "polished" as the ones that I get from persnickety prints (I still order photos when I'm doing an entire mini album and am not worried about waiting for them).
