And another memory from my mum about my dad - I actually had a photo for this. I have only two photos of my Dad prior to my parents' marriage in 1969 - this is one of them.

Chinagirl828 I your sweet sunnies page!! All the little bits and bobs, especially the first of all you’re really pretty and the one about unicorns are just so perfect; love the color scheme and design too! I’m thinking you might see a lift of this from me I really love the design on the beach babes page, too. That background paper is driving me crazy though…just because I can’t remember who makes it. Sassafras? Regardless, love how you used such a bold paper for the background and made it work! kiwigirl another stunner from you! Oh wow the brackets pretty sure I used those a little too much way back when; they look fab here, along with the torn washi and all the other fun bits! Btw I finally got some fringe scissors and used them last month on my “old as dirt” LO (black border at the top) and really enjoyed them. So definitely go for it!! grammadee that wedding page is gorgeous! I love all the vintage touches like the lace and pocket watches and little cluster of flowers JaneB I really love the pops of color against all the neutral and those fun title letters! msliz I hope your daughter loves this album as much as I do love the journaling on the grid page, too funny! I LOVE the sequins on the castle page; seriously clever use of them!! All the gems on the seven dwarfs page are like the perfect embellishment ever! Really love all the borders too I really like the bold b&w stripe and fun banners on the page of the two of them together; those stacked tags are pretty darn cool too! The jack sparrow is just too funny! And I just love all the elements on the pirates ride page; the wheel, skulls, wave-like paper, torn edges, just perfect! KelleeM ooh I love that echo park paper! What a fun page to go with it really love the title and pretty sure the “can’t get any better than this” embellie is spot on! I just love the color scheme of the honeymoon suite spread; and again, you couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate embellie than the “grow old along with me” I really like the contrast of that gorgeous floral with the woodgrain! gramma such a cute spread! I really love the right side with the full costume reveals and fun quote, but love how you got so many photos on the left page, too craftykitten oh the little mice are so so cute!! I really like the design with the tags on both sides of the photo; I might just pinch that MDscrapaholic your Halloween page is just adorable love the grid and cute little owls! kitbop love your donut sushi! Great title work and such a fun design Linda I really like your navy page; all the elements are so perfect with your photo! And I have had the best time reading the stories about your dad; he sounds like a colorful character who lived a very interesting life what an absolute gift your mother gave you and you are giving your children! nylene love your warehouse sale page! The design is awesome, love all those strips! I really like the “in a perfect world” embellie too; ain’t that the truth! The story behind your butterfly page makes me sad for little you; I am guessing it turned out well though I really love the fun geometric background and how you echoed that gorgeous photo with the embellishments.

Cool idea to have the doughnuts represent sushi, kitbop! I love your colour scheme, and the banner and other matting pieces all piled in behind the photo block. Cute photos, too. nylene it is SOOO good to see you scrapping again! And two marvelous pages right off the hop! LOVE your story about the swallowtail. Isn't it amazing how one person can turn our whole life around! I'll bet you carry her spirit forward every time you work with students. Your heritage pages are awesome, Linda. Great to get your mum's stories onto pages for others to read.

I really love the design on the beach babes page, too. That background paper is driving me crazy though…just because I can’t remember who makes it. Sassafras? stinkerbelle That seahorse paper is indeed Sassafrass. Linda I love all the pages with your Mum's writings. The photo of your Dad is the perfect photo for this story. You're so lucky to have these stories told from your Mum's perspective.

I had a peek at the Diecut Challenge for August... 1. Use your oldest die, cut file or punch on a project. 2. Aug. 8th is NATIONAL SNEAK SOME ZUCCHINI INTO YOUR NEIGHBOR’S PORCH DAY - so lets use Gardening or fruits and Vegetable die cut, punches, etc 3. Fonts- use your fonts or alphabet dies and punches. This probably looked better in my head - but I didn't copy!!! All my own work
Zucchini = courgette here in England, or Corvette if you're hard of hearing, ahem....
Points: well, the diecut challenge - my oldest cut file is my card template. Wailroo font, and I'm pinching a point for my 5 hours original drawing of a courgette, complete with chrome and white wall tyres!!!
A total of 6 for the morning's work

I did another DT LO so I can only share a sneak for now. My tip for Amy Tangerine Shine On is to definitely buy the separate papers and not the paper pad. I feel like all the good papers don't come in the pad! It's also not very clear when you're purchasing the pad that you're only getting half the paper designs. Claiming 14 for this one. Aug Bonus, Aug Stash, #6 Square, #7 Rectangle, #9 Border Punch, #10 Chipboard, #11 Oh Baby (someone I love), #19 Nuvos, #32 Scraps (kraft), #33 Together, #43 Single It, #48 6x6 and 2 for a LO and sharing.

nylene - beautiful picture and layout; my heart hurt a bit too when I read that you associate a butterfly with early school placement. linda - fabulous capturing of your stories! I especially like the one about Northern Germany, with the picture background. JaneB - LOL! I love mis-hearings! Won't you be my neighbour??? kiwigirl - I love the colours in your sneaks and the texture of the puffy hearts by the tassel. I learned a few years ago about the paper pads because my LSS doesn't carry some lines that I want, and will "special order" paper pads for me but not individual pps. I find the pads tend to carry the busy "side A" papers, and miss out on the beautiful "side B" a lot of the time!!!

I am not really happy with this LO - whether it's the older crummy photos (before we had digital. This 3 year old is turning 20 this month). Or maybe because I started with the idea of black background and colourful fun pps, but then my LO ended up having a sad story on it??? Dunno. layout sad story of gideon by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Linda, I really laughed at your story about Sunday worship. Love that you scrapped this. Also the "accident with the venison" was a great story to pass down from generation to generation. Wonderful pages. Love your photo of your parents in 1965. I especially love that you tell the stories behind the photo. The memory of your parents saving their marriage thanks to a friend is so sweet. The passport story reminded me of my DD trying to renew her passport in Japan. Such red tape. Excellent embellishments to match the story. Great Dr. Seuss quote and story. I love that criss cross piece at the bottom. JaneB, I love your Corvette! You have such amazing talent. I can believe it took 5 hours to do it. You are also so clever in your scrapping. Love it. kiwigirl, way to tantalize use with those cute hearts and the pom pom. Now I am anxious to see the rest. When can it be revealed? kitbop, I love your page even if it's not your favorite. I love the black background with the bright colors and tags. I'm sorry it also documents a sad loss of a pet. Hugs. I am loving all the layouts posted. I'm hoping I can keep up with each of you!!

JaneB that corvette is REALLY cool! It could be the centre piece of a wide variety of cards! Five hours well spent. Intriguing sneak peek, kiwigirl. Loving all the textures. I predict another awesome blog post in September. The end of the story of Gideon's time with your family may not have been a happy one, kitbop, but it looks like that kitty had a wonderful time while it lasted. I love the look on your ds's face. So this really IS a happy page! nylene, you are returning to scrapbooking with a BANG!!! Love the colours on the San Francisco LO, and that city skyline on a hillside is PERFECT! And your tribute to your hubby is wonderful. Love all the woodworking elements. Your sympathy card is beautiful, KikiPea. Beautiful colours and textures. I always have trouble making those.

WOW!WOW!WOW! I have been enjoying looking at all your work so far this month. I am sorry I haven't commented. I will try to get better. I have had a hard time coming to the table so far this month- needed to print some photos. Have been busy organizing photos & putting away all the stuff I used last month & getting page kits ready for this month. Am going to crop with a friend this weekend at her home, so hope to finish a few layouts this weekend. I was falling behind on my cards & have lots of upcoming birthdays....so, made this Club Scrap kit- Lovely Lavender & it certainly is. I love Club Scrap Kits. I am taking 18 points for this_ 12 cards, 5 flowers (itty bitty lavender glued on to lots of the wreaths) & 1 for posting. August Challenge by Pati Nuce, on Flickr
