We have gone to the beach the last few days (it's been sunny and in the 70's, which is rare for here). It is so nice to have it pretty much in our own backyard. We have to drive less than 5 mins and we can get to a few different ones.
Went to one of our favorite spots this morning to search for sand dollars and there were none to be found. Intact that is and only a few broken pieces. My kids were pretty bummed.
So this is what I get to enjoy...

What a nice view. I don't get to the beach often. I wish I did.

How fortunate you are - I envy you your location. We don't get to the beach anywhere near as often as I'd like. I miss it.

Nice, do you mind sharing which beach this is? We only get to the beach once every year or two. This year we're not going to be able to make it to the beach.
Growing up, we lived about thirty minutes from the beach-Hunting Island Beach near Beaufort, SC. It was awesome.

Ours is over an hour away so not many times. I can probably count them on one hand. We'd love to go more often but it's a huge ordeal or we make it that way. Having pets to care for makes it tough so we settle for our pool.

It is a 500 miles roughly to the beach. Unlikely I'll ever go again in my life unless something MAJOR happens.

Never to the ocean but we spend almost three weeks near a lake every summer ... dh goes out on the boat everyday and I sit on the beach under my umbrella with a great book ![](http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m107/scrapmolly/smile_zps8777a78f.gif) Leanne

I'm in the geographical center of the US, so our beaches are next to lakes. We go to the lake beach once or twice a year. It's been about 8 years since I've been to the ocean. I'm scared of the ocean anyway (never even dipped in a toe) so it's not a great loss to me.

I try to go at least once every two weeks in the summer. It is about 12 miles to the beach so we have to drive, which means we have to go pretty early to get decent parking. Sometimes sleeping in wins over a day at the beach ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) .

We go once a year for a week. It's a four hour drive. Usually we've gone by now but DH wants to celebrate his 40th there so we are waiting until August. Hot, hot August.

Not nearly often enough.
I used to go about once a year or so.
The past long while....... well, not at all.
Your view is lovely. The beach is my favorite place to go.

Every chance I get! I try to make it a couple times a month. Sometimes we just ride our bikes. Sometimes i get away from the kids for a few hours and go paddle boarding with my friends. It's a perk of living in San Diego.

We go at least once per week to walk along a paved path. Our regular walk is a 3.5 miles, our second is just over 4 and our long one is 7-8 miles depending on how far we go.
As for actually going, sitting on the sand and playing in the water - rarely.

Freebird- We rarely go in the water. It's pretty cold to do that, even when we get the rare warm days. We just go walk, search for shells, have picnics.
We go to the river if we want to have water fun.

As a family we don't go as often as we should. We have gone twice in the last 3 weeks which is a miracle. It's crazy to think we're only 30 min driving time from the beach but we rarely go. We do have a pool in the backyard which could be a reason why we go so infrequently.

During the summer, we go about 3-4 times a week. I also like to ride my bike down there and just SEE the water. It calms something in me. See why? ![](https://scontent-b-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t1.0-9/10502484_10203409522492934_201438720396284629_n.jpg)

Not as often as we would like! We are about 15 minutes away, but it seems like such an ordeal to pack up and go and deal with parking and tourists and everything. I know, First World Problem, right? We need to make an effort to go more this summer. I know we will be there with the rest of the Orange County population over the 4th of July weekend.

DH and the kids probably average twice/month during the warmer months. I even took them swimming in January last year! I also go sometimes and we rent bikes for have lunch on our pier. We live about a 20 minute drive from the beach in northern San Diego County.
ETA: I live in the same town as Whirled and love the pic she posted of our pier.

Almost never. We're minutes away from the lake and our beaches are disgusting. They no longer close them due to high levels of ecoli in the water, they just post advisories. I just read on Facebook that there are currently 5 of our beaches under advisory. People flock here as a tourist destination, too. Ugh.

We usually only make it once/summer. We only live an hours drive to great beaches (NJ coast) but I don't swim so I won't take the kids by myself. I know there are lifeguards, but I'm too nervous. I also dislike getting sand in my swimsuit bottoms. OK, I admit it, I HATE sandy butt syndrome. It's so uncomfortable.
We just joined a swim club that's a five minute walk from our house. We've been there 5 of the past 7 days. I think the beach is going to loose this year!

Like FreeBird, I live in the middle (as I call it! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/OrTI4SBmZ2ZYSFv6ag4f.jpg) ) But we own a boat, so we're on the water a couple of times a week...and we 'beach' the boat. To the ocean, usually twice a year...once an adult trip (this year was the DR) and then a family trip to Destin/Ft Walton Beach, Florida. We love the water!

We usually go to Playa del Carmen or Cancun every other summer. I wish I could live there permanently. The beaches here in Texas are ugly and gross.

We try to go at least once a month. My MIL lives only a few miles away from the beach and we are only about an hour from her. Every we go, even for the day, I wonder why in the world it is that I don't just move to the coast. I love it.
In fact, my avatar is from our trip earlier this month!

Being a water baby (born on the water in Fla.) , I don't get there nearly often enough! When I saw your picture, I could immediately smell the beach. <3
