And so many nights I just dream of the ocean. God, I wish I was sailin' again.

We bought a place on the Gulf Coast of Texas about four years ago. It's a 5 hour drive from our main home. We go down every month for a long weekend and for a week once a year. We usually do a cruise or two each year also. We love the beach and spend as much time there as we can.

When I lived in NY (LI), I used to go from May until September, faithfully. I LOVED it. The sand was like Toys-R-Us sand. The **ocean** (not a bay, not the gulf, not a river, not the sound, etc; only the OCEAN!!!) was perfect. The sound of the ocean crashing on the shore is pure peace to me. I miss it every day. We moved to FL, where you'd think you'd be on the beach daily, but we've only been to the beach a few times in 3 years!! The gulf is gross. The sand is gross. The water is stagnant and there's no sound of crashing waves. It's dull. It's unbearably hot so you need to buy/rent an umbrella and be fully prepared. So, no, I don't ever go to the beach here! I only go to our pool.

I live on the coast of California and I never go. I can get there in less that 30 minutes but I just don't like the ocean. In the 8 years we've lived here I've been about 5 times.Because I had out of town company and that's where they wanted to go. LOL

We only get to the beach once a year or sometimes every other year. We do have some nice lake "beaches" around here that I go to often. I like to kayak the lakes and rivers weekly.

I live in AZ but am in SoCal around 2x/month. I often add a day to my stay to enjoy the area. I think I go to the beach more in the off season, though, as I don't like all the crowds in the summertime. I visit up and down the SoCal coast as my territory for work covers from SLO down to Chula Vista.

It's been about 15+ years since I have been to the beach. So, I guess you could say that I don't go very often.

Considering we live 1500 miles from the nearest ocean? Ha, ha, ha.
(I don't count lakefront as beach. Not the same.)

Only once a year unfortunately. We live in west central Georgia and are not very close to the beach we like to go to on Amelia Island, FL. But we are going in two weeks for 5 days and I truly cannot wait. It has been a rough year, incredibly busy at work (which is a good thing as DH and I are self employed), 2 deaths in our family, and things have just been stressful and strained. We ALL need a break, but DH and I particularly are in severe need of some R&R - and a little recharge time for just us. Looking forward to getting my toes in the sand and to get my first lungful of the ocean air. The air is really just better there.

We never go. We aren't beach people. We like to go to the mountains.

We live close to a beautiful beach, but rarely go. I love the ocean, and live by the coast, and I guess I get my ocean smell fix just by staying at home. But I love beaches, and we always have our summer vacation by one. This year we're in Denmark and the beach is one of the most beautiful i've ever seen!

We live about ten minutes from several beaches and try to make it there at least two or three times a week after DH gets out of work. We're here now but rarely come on weekends because we prefer the quieter weekday afternoons and evenings. After having some guy yell at our entire family for stealing "HIS" parking spot just now, I remember why we had that preference in the first place

We go maybe 7 or 8 times a year, depends on what's going on there. It's about an hour and a half drive, and most of the time it's cold and blustery (I'm in Washington state) but we fish, dig for razor clams, camp, beachcomb, explore the scenery, and every now and then enjoy a nice sunny day.

1-2 times a year. It is my happy place and I don't get to it often enough but it isn't close to me.
