Living in New England, and having family on both "capes" (Cape Cod and Cape Ann) we go almost every weekend! We love the beach.

We don't live that close to the ocean, but are very close to rivers that merge into the Chesapeake Bay so our "beaches" are river beaches and we are there often. My son sails in Annapolis and our neighborhood beaches have diving boards, floating docks, and sometimes lifeguards. My kids swim all the time there and we also kayak. My kids don't know how good they have it! Lol

I have not been to the beach since July 4th weekend two years ago. I live 5 miles from the beach. I hate the texture of the sand we have here and the beach we visited two years ago was in the panhandle with the white sugar sand, and I can't wait to go back there! I will not go to the beach by my house, no matter what.

Not often enough! Once or twice a year.
I would love to be 5 minutes from the beach.

We usually take one long trip, usually a week. Then we do a couple long weekends a year. We live about 4 hours from the coast. I love the beach. DH tolerates it because I like it. And I hope my little girl will love it. She did last year, but she's young so you never know.

Ha we live 5 minutes from the beach but only go (as in pack up the kids and sand toys and put out chairs) about once a year. It's too hard to battle the tourists!

I've been to the beach (Florida gulf) every day for the past 5+ weeks. I only have 5 days left, though, then it's back home, where I will probably never visit the Lake Michigan beach and its frigid water that's a few miles from our home. We get here for a week in the fall, a couple weeks in the winter and a week in the spring, but never is the beach as glorious as it is in the summer!

Only when we go on vacation. The beach we have is Lake Ontario and the beach part of it is gross and almost always closed.
I'd LOVE to live close to the beach someday!

We last went about two or three years ago. We don't live that far from a beach, but too from from a "nice" beach.

At least once a week, maybe more. It depends on the weather here on the Wet Coast of Canada. With the wheelchair, I don't get right TO the sand/beach part, but I love to hang out at the park parts. I get pretty close to the water/sand. We have two places in town that are less than 10 mins from me. I love to drive up to the one in Parksville, but since it's a good 30 minute drive, I tend to only do that if others are going, too. I figure we do that every other week.

Newlywoods--the sand dollars are found living right under the sand, usually on sand bars, not the breakers on the beach. I grew up at Atlantic Beach, NC, which is right at the Beaufort Inlet and the Intracoastal Waterway. We'd get sand dollars by the bucket full on sandbars--anchor up the boat and dig under the sand. You do have to soak the sand dollars in bleach because they have an outer green layer.
It sure beat buying sand dollars for $1 a piece at the shell shops.
I haven't been to beach in the past two years. I've just not gotten there. I really miss it. Going back to the beach where my parents lived and dh and I got married is bittersweet since my dad died. The place has really changed so it's not very nostalgic.
My cousin lives at a beach near Wilmington. Dh and I hope to spend a weekend in Wilmington and Fort Fisher for a vacation this summer. We were going to take a week and drive down Hwy 17, a coastal highway, from NC down to St. Simon's. Dh and I have just not felt like doing that. We also want to visit friends in Tenn when we go visit dh's parents in SC later this year. --our friends live an hour from the NC/TN border and the inlaws are only an hour south of Asheville.
I wish I could live on the beach again. I'd love to sit out on the beach and read. It's just so expensive to live there plus the major hospital systems are a couple hours away. My doctors would have a fit if I lived 2 hours away from a major stroke/cardiac arrest trauma center.
Whenever I have to have tests or whatever and the techs tell me to close my eyes and find my "happy place" I always imagine I'm lying on a beach towel in the sand with the salt breeze and warm sunshine. Pure Bliss.

We live about 2 miles from the beach (Central Coast of California). We don't go as much as we should, but I'd say on average we go about 2 times a month, more in the summer and less in the winter. We walk the dog often or just take walks in the early evening. We were there yesterday for an end of year soccer party and my older DD went with a good family friend today- they surfed and boogie boarded (is that a word?). My husband HATES the sand- so he's not much of a relax and sit at the beach kinda guy- it always makes me chuckle to see him flip out when a grain of sand gets on *his* towel, haha! The temperature in our area is very mild- it averages about 70 year round. There are usually a few sporadic hot days from 80-90 degrees and we make sure to be there then. *edited to add photos

We are about 60 miles from the beach, but not a very nice one (Galveston). We go down there once or twice a year.

Not as often as I'd like to. We used to live about 10 miles from the beach but moved inland a few years ago. The beach is one thing I miss so much, we still go but it's over an hour drive now and still figuring out the best spots to go. Last week we tried Carlsbad but I think Oceanside may be closer.

It's about a 30 - 40 minute drive for me to get to a suburban bay beach, but we don't go all that often. We prefer to go to a surf beach, and you have to travel quite a bit further than that. We go to a holiday house at the beach a few times a year, it is about 1 hour 45 minutes away. We usually stay for a week once a year plus a few long weekends here and there. During summer we usually go to my dad's house or a friend's house to use their pool, or occasionally the river (15 minutes away). I would LOVE to live closer to the beach!

Like, down onto the beach to enjoy the sun and the surf? Probably a half dozen times a year. A few times when it's just warmed enough to enjoy and a few more times when it's just cooled off enough to enjoy. But during the peak of Summer, I avoid it for the most part. Too hot, too much seaweed, too many tourists.
Just within sight of the water? Close to once a week, year-round. I live really close to Galveston Bay and not far from the Gulf of Mexico. There are so many parks, restaurants, and other attractions at the water. Even in the middle of what we call Winter I like to go do things near the water.

Every other year/every three years. I live in Colorado and the beach isn't exactly close. I try to get to the pool multiple times a week.

We take a beach vacation every summer--this year it's the OBX. I lived in a coastal CT town for several years before I met DH and moved inland. I walked my dog along LI Sound every day--heaven. Now I'm probably about 45 minutes away from the nearest beach so I hardly ever go. When DH retires I want to move to a coastal town again.

Once a year, usually Jersey Shore when we're on vacation. We're not beach people, but my son loves it, so we go for him. Once is enough for me.
I'm more of a lake person. However, since I live in a very hot and humid area of the country and I hate.the.heat, I don't even try to make it to a lake. I stay inside during the summer as much as possible. Summer's other name while we're living here is Jody's hibernation time, lol.

Nice, do you mind sharing which beach this is? We only get to the beach once every year or two. This year we're not going to be able to make it to the beach.
Growing up, we lived about thirty minutes from the beach-Hunting Island Beach near Beaufort, SC. It was awesome.
I have heard of that beach, but I have not been there.

Not very often which is sad considering I live on an island! When we first moved here we went frequently but we kind of got bored with it. Now we just can't seem to find the time.

We live on Cape Cod and there are beaches at every point. The closest one to us is about a mile away. That being said - I'm so not a beach person - especially during the tourist season. I'd much rather be in the mountains. I live in the mountains and drive to Cape Cod. We're a double "grass is greener" type situation. Lucky you! Want to trade? We go to N.H. as often as possible, but I'd rather live in N.H. than just go visit.

We live an hour away from the nearest beach (we have a river close by, but you have to be suicidal to try to swim there), so not often. Also, summers here are generally quite cold, so water temps rarely get above 18 celsius.

During the summer I live on a lake. We are on a small lake surrounded by tall pines. A bald eagle has a nest across the lake and there is usually a loon or two hanging around our section of the lake.
