Yes they really are that busy. My Magic Key (annual pass) expired at the end of last year but I have friend who renewed. While there are better times to go there are no longer times when the park is not crowded. Just slightly less crowds.
No matter the day your best bet is always rope drop and a couple of hours before closing. You can get a lot done during those times.

I have a bunch of park maps that I bought from eBay when I needed them for catching up on old albums.
Does anyone want them?
They are all pre-2020, some in Spanish. Both DL and WDW.

Just be careful because THIS stamp looks like a SC that perhaps AliExpress made, so it's gonna be that quality. Loving those acrylic pieces though, thanks for the link!!!

That small world paper pad is very cute.
And orange bird is adorable. I love him. I wish they sold stickers of their stamp designs.

The whole family is heading to Disneyland for a couple days next month. My daughter will be in a wheelchair as she’s still recovering from an injury.
We’re inexperienced with wheelchairs and I’m curious if anyone has any tips for us. Like, is there anything I should bring or buy to make it more comfortable? The only thing I can think of is a towel to sit on. ??
Does anyone know about the logistics of using one at the parks? She can transfer just fine onto a ride, so I imagine the staff will whisk the wheelchair to the exit for when she disembarks? Will they be on the lookout for her, of will we need to play hide and seek at the exit?
I am expecting it to be a real pain, but knowing what to expect in advance will help. Thanks!

My husband uses a mobility scoote, but he can do some walking (limited how much and how long) and transfer. The biggest problem we have at Disney is other guests! (You are lower to the ground and people tend not to see you especially at night!)
From our experience, if you're bringing your own chair, make sure it is comfortable. Bring a cushion, back pillow. Whatever you need. If you're not sure, try going to a mall or some other place for an hour or two where you can walk/wheel around so you can determine what you need or what does and doesn't work. (It's way better to find out before you go then be at the park and be uncomfortable or in pain.)
Lights for the chair at nighttime in handy, we get cheap dollar store lights that clip on and put them off the scooter at night (usually in blink mode) so people can see him.)
Visit guest services for a disability guide map. It'll have more info and be a quick reference.
So attractions wheelchairs/scooter enter at a different point than the general queue. Look for a cast member at the entrance and they should be able to direct you. (Big thunder mountain and Pirates are two of the rides that do this.)
While you're at Guest services, they should tell you about a "local return time." If not, ask them. This is ONLY at Disneyland itself (NOT California Adventure.) Because DL was built before ADA requirements some queues don't accommodate a number of mobility vehicles well. (Peter pan, Mr. Toad, Alice in Wonderland, Snow white are a few off the top of my head) Guests services can mark on your map which rides have "local return times." Then just go to cast member at the entrance and ask for a local return time. They'll tell you when to return. When it's that time, head on back and tell them you are there for your local return time.
Always park your wheelchair in the designated areas. If you don't it will be moved to that area and it may take you a few minutes to locate it.
Bring your patience!
Leave plenty of room between you and people walking in front you. They will stop abruptly, make sudden turns in front of you (squirrel), and frequently walk like drunken sailors. :-) Give yourself as much room as reasonably possible to avoid hitting anyone OR being hit.
While on rides Wheelchairs are usually in the area where you disembark the ride. If that's in another area from where you boarded, the cast will move your chair to that area after you're on the ride and in time for you to exit.
If our scooter is being moved by the cast, we **sometimes** will leave our backpack on it, but make sure any wallets, phones etc. are with us. If we are parking our scooter in a very open designated parking area, take all your valuables with you.
Whether you ar renting or bringing your own chair, bring something you can tie on the handle or armrest so you can quickly find it in a sea of other chairs.
That's all I can think of right now. Hope this helps.

Thanks! mehardy gave a lot of great advice. I went to WDW in 2017, and was in a wheelchair. I strongly recommend a good gel cushion., which you can find at Costco in the automotive section. The Disney staff move wheelchairs and scooters if necessary (depending on the ride, they may be pretty much right where you left them to get on the ride, but if not, they will be easily found on your way to the exit, or right before the exit, along with other wheelchairs. Definitely have a way to identify your daughter’s. As for the lights to put on the wheelchair, I had two to three different sets of lights that got broken when the staff folded up my wheelchair. I kept replacing them, and the staff kept breaking them. I finally gave up. Hopefully you’ll have bettr lights than mine were, but make sure the lights can be attached in a way that when the chair is quickly folded shut and opened, the lights and/or cords do not get stretched, crushed, torn or broken in some way. The staff have to move people through fast. The wheelchairs get folded up and moved out of the way fast. Lights with cords can get broken in the process. And yes, people tend not to notice wheelchairs, and they often move right into your path without looking. Sometimes they see you and still do it. Try not to let it frustrate you too much. Just know it will happen.

THANK YOU mehardy and scrapnnana !! This is very helpful information! I never would’ve thought about lights, but that makes a lot of sense! Do you think glow sticks would work? The kind that are meant to loop for necklaces and bracelets? I’ll see what she thinks about a gel cushion. She’s recovering from a concussion, so not exactly a physical situation where her comfort is necessarily a concern (like with a back problem or whatever). She gets dizzy with too much standing and walking and tires very easily. Basically, the fatigue just hasn’t let up still (she was injured in March). 😕

We've been doing this at Disney and other places a long time! Glow sticks or bright should work. You just want something, people can't ignore so they see you and recognize there's a wheelchair/scooter and can either maneuver around you or let you move as you need to. One other tip - Avoid the trolly tracks on Main Street! Tires can get stuck in the narrow track and cause you to jerk to a stop, stumble, or worse fall. Even if not back/leg/ or other injury she could be doing a lot of sitting and you don't want that be uncomfortable. I'm glad your daughter in recovering and hope she continues to keep getting better.

Q for the Disney fans: has anyone done anything with old Epcot festival passports? I live in the Orlando area, husband is a CM, so we go to Epcot a lot and I have saved all my old passports. We always check off the different things we've tried. I just don't really know what to do with them. I have a little Citrus Twist Life Crafted album devoted to random park pics as I take a lot, and they aren't necessarily things that warrant a full layout (you can scrap only so many layouts of the safari yet I keep taking pictures when on it....). I thought maybe that could be a good home but those albums are *tiny*. Anywho I'm looking for ideas if anyone has any!

I usually scrap using page protectors so I'll sometimes just slide in maps behind a relevant page. I also have used 8.5x11 page protectors or plastic envelopes from PL to hold groups of paraphernalia. I'm curious how you approach your Disney scrapping. Do you have a dedicated Disney album? Just add it into a Chrono/annual album? Something different? Since Disney can be just part of our every day, but I also take many photos, I'm never quite sure how it fits or doesn't with my other scrapping.

Since Disney can be just part of our every day, but I also take many photos, I'm never quite sure how it fits or doesn't with my other scrapping. I do a bit of a mix. Most things are just kind of everyday life, like oh we went to this resort for a date night dinner, or here's some pics from a quick Wednesday night or Saturday trip to a park etc. I mostly do Project Life style scrapping so it just gets folded in that way. If it's something that has a lot of pictures like a stay at a resort for a few nights I might make additional solo pages, or if it's something that warrants it's own mini album or inclusion in another themed mini album, I might do that as well. I recently started using a dedicated Citrus Twist Life Crafted album for all the random pics that I don't feel need to have a story attached. I take the same approach for Universal as we are APs there. Short visits gets folded into PL, longer/special events might get their own mini album or be a part of another one, Citrus Twist album for all the random other pics I like but don't fit elsewhere. A perfect example is Halloween- I love halloween, there's always lots to do and see which means tons of pics, so I have started making a Halloween mini album each year. We go to both Horror Nights and Mickey's Not So Scary so pics for those would likely end up in both my weekly PL spread as well as my Halloween album. We are doing the RIP tour at HHN for the first time this year, so that might get some larger spreads in PL. I do have a dedicated Disney Cruise scrapbook, 12x12, because we've gone on several cruises and plan to keep going.

Has any one been to Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea? There's a small chance we may go and I'm curious about the experience. I've heard the lines are already long. Funnily enough we are going on a trip there in a weeks time so I’ll be happy to report back - note we are going in summer in Japan (June) so it’s a little less busy then golden week etc in April and other months like December etc I’ve downloaded the Tokyo Disneyland app and it shows you the wait times throughout the day for both parks even if you aren’t actually at the park - maybe this will help your decision about whether it’s worth a trip or not? For example right now it’s 9.30am on Saturday morning in Tokyo which is a busy day and the wait time for the beauty and the beast ride (one of the top rides) is 145mins. You can buy a genie pass for this ride. We are going during the week (Tuesday to Thursday) as these are slower days and we are going in summer before monsoon season where it’s also less busy as it’s a little hot (but not for us aussies 🤭) I’ve heard that if you get to the park early you can be let in before opening which would help getting in more on the day, and that if you stay all the way until closing a lot of the wait times are very small as most Japanese people don’t stay until the parks close and leave early evening so they can get home on the trains. Tdr explorer is a great YouTube channel and has a lot of resources about Tokyo Disneyland, he’s got so many helpful tips that have helped us plan our trip so far!

@ig thanks for the recommendations! We would be going around Jan 5ish so opposite season. I will definitely download the app. I love 25 min for DLR and have had passes so very familiar with how those parks work. Curious to see what applies for TDL.

Okay, stupid question here: is Orange Bird to be found anywhere at Disneyland, or just Florida? Both California and Florida are known for their oranges.
Second question, not so stupid (hopefully): what are the most important differences between the two parks at Disneyland/California Adventure and the 4 parks at Disney World (other than the themes of the parks)? What are the “must see” or “must do” things at the west coast Disney Parks?

The most important difference is that the CA parks are physically so much smaller and closer together. Very simple to park hop. How long are you at DLR? We always do a park hopper and get almost everything we want done at both parks in a full day. But we go all the time and easily navigate the parks. When are you going? Have you ever been before?
Orange bird is not really in DLR but I feel like it has become more popular so not sure if it has a small presence here or no (our passes expired 😞 and we haven't been since the fall).

What are the “must see” or “must do” things at the west coast Disney Parks? Orange bird is Florida ONLY. He was created in deal with the Florida Citrus Commission in return for their sponsorship of the Tiki Room and Sunshine Tree Terrace. Disneyland is essential the west coast original version of the Magic Kingdom, though it's smaller, and due to adding attractions and lands over the years, the flow and layout aren't as smooth or easy as the the MK in Florida. They also have their Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland. California Adventure is an odd duck (But I LOVE it). It has a little bit of Hollywood studios with entrance and Hollywood street, all the art deco and nostalgia. Then it's got a couple super themed areas, Avengers Campus and Carsland. Beyond that it's got what was supposed to be a San Francisco Warfares area (mostly food) that's being re-themed to Baymax and San Franyoko. Grizzly Peak area, Pretty walking trails, play area, water ride, and Paradise Pier - think Santa Monica Pier amusement park BUT with a Pixar Theme. On plus side, traffic flow is WAY bigger and smoother and it's WAY easier to navigate. If you've been to Florida my Disneyland must do are all the stuff that isn't in Florida or is different. Such as: Dark Rides- Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad, Pinocchio, and Small World. The Matterhorn Bobsled, Storybook boats, Finding Neo Submarine, Space Mountain (Sit side by-side like in Splash mountain and the track is SOOOOOOOO much smoother), Indiana Jones, Jungle Cruise (it's a bit different not totally, but the queue and area are really cool), Haunted Mansion, PIRATES (2 drops and much longer ride!), Big Thunder Mountain. Those are off the top of my head I'm probably missing one or two. Galaxy's Edge is literally the same, right down to where electrical outlets are located, but....the DL has characters out Florida hasn't gotten like Boba Fett R2-D2 so if you like characters it's worth a stop. California Adventure also has a lot - CARSLAND - I can't say with enough emphasis. It's like you've walked into the movie. And if you check you phone for what time the sunsets, go the the land about 10-15 minutes before and hangout (You never know when they's going to do it) but they light up the whole road and buildings like in the first film. It's super cute. All three rides are fun, especially the Radiator Springs Racers. Avengers Campus - lots of Characters, webslingers is really fun and Guardians Mission Breakout (Like Tower of Terror) (This is my FAVORITE ride in all of California - It is so funny and so much fun!) Pixar Pier has Toy story mania and so other cute Pixar themed rides, most pretty tame, the big ride over there is the Incredacoaster. Super fun and Super cute. The Little Mermaid dark ride is a little different. Toy Story Mania and Soarin are always great. Also Lamp Light Lounge is a fun place to eat if you can get a reservation. And sign up in the virtual queue for seating for the nighttime water show. It's pretty neat. Hope this helps!

Thank you, mehardy , that helps so, so much!!! You are VERY welcome! One other thing. Disneyland only uses Magicband plus. (Right now just for ticket entry, lighting lanes, genie BUT NOT to pay for anything) If you already have Magicband plus bands you can use them in DL instead of buying new ones. Just "unlink" them from the WDW app and link them to DL app on your phone. It's pretty easy, unless you get a weird one (which I had). If that happens - mine refused to pair/link, just call Disney and they can have several other methods they can walk you through. One other note...there are less sit-down dining options in DL/CA than in WDW. So if there's a restaurant you want to go like Blue Bayou (Think eating inside the pyramid at Mexico, but it's bayou portion of Pirates of the Caribbean) or Lamp Light Lounge or Carthay Circle, check the menus and be ready book them the 1st day you are eligible. They fill up FAST!

How was the ordering food and just generally finding what you needed? (I’m assuming you don’t speak/read Japanese.) My daughter and I want to go. I’m tentatively thinking about it as a graduation gift, which gives me a couple years to figure it out!
