Great game play by Rick Devans. And I love how he handled himself in tribal council. That who thing was so fun to watch play out. I'll be so disappointed if he doesn't make it to the end. I think he's one of the best players we've seen in a long time. Hope he wins.

I think normally I would like Devins. But I hate that a player voted out is allowed back in the game so I'm rooting for him to go.

Last night was so fun. Devins has become a master of tribal councils. I sure hope he wins. And Aurora just personifies the concept of mean girl.

On the one hand I feel bad for Aurora because she's had a tough life so far, and i can see why her personality turned out the way it did. But she's really tough to like & I was happy to see her go. I'm not sure why she wouldn't have tried working with Devins as much as she could & then waited until closer to the end to try to get rid of him
But great game play by Devins! He is definitely my favourite which I wouldn't have said in the beginning. I knew as soon as he pulled out the idol & started talking about it that he wasn't really going to use it. And good for him. I can't believe next week is the finale already! I hope they have a full hour for the reunion this time instead of the 40 minutes it got last season. And next week the EOI person comes back, I think before the final 3. Guesses who it will be? I'm hoping for David or Joe.

What a great episode! I loved watching Devens play and I agree, it’s fun to see him having so much fun. I LOVE that he won the immunity challenge and has an idol for the next TC. I knew he would never play his idol on Julie.
I don’t mind Aurora, but also didn’t feel too badly that she went. She brought it on herself. And I’m rooting for Devens anyway.
When they were interviewing everyone after the immunity challenge, I think every person said they would vote for Devens. That they just couldn’t beat him. The editors are either setting him up to win or fail spectacularly. At this point, I don’t care if anyone else wins. But he has to win the IC—no one would ever elect to take him to the end.
I didn’t go back and rewatch it, but it almost seems like the EoE people all compete with the tribe members left and the top 5 winners go on. Surely I heard it wrong and they are just talking one EoE person to the end.

I'm another loving how much fun Devens is having. I don't mind someone winning their way back into the game early and fighting hard to stay in the way Devens has. Is the next TC, the last one HIIs can be used? I'm on the fence about another returning player at this late of a point and am really curious to see how it all plays out. If Devens makes it to the final, he is going to be unbeatable IMHO. jackie, I've really missed the Ponderosa videos this year, too. I wonder if they'll do one after EOE is finished?

And next week the EOI person comes back, I think before the final 3. Guesses who it will be? I'm hoping for David or Joe. I think it depends on what kind of a competition they will be involved in. Thinking Joe can probably take on anyone in a physical/speed challenge. David has shown himself really good at the ones that call for stamina and balance. I am torn between liking these particular veterans and thinking that the newbies need a chance. Please not War Dog.... That first woman who was voted off has been growing on me. In Edge of Extinction, different qualities come through, and while she is irritated--and a bit amused--by the players just voted off, she seems to be the glue that holds that little band together. And as she commented after reading her letter to herself, she has demonstrated true survival.

Normally I would agree with you, but NO ONE is working hard for a win. How lazy were they when they were talking about someone needs to watch him. Aurora is the only one who had half an ounce of drive to win this. Everyone else is SOOOOOOO low key. I have more excitement for the game while I’m sitting on the couch!

I think whoever comes back from EOE has a decent chance of winning being that they have been spending a lot of time at EOE with the jury. I know it hasn't been said who exactly is going to be in the jury, but I'm assuming that everyone left at EOE will be jury. If it's, for example, the first lady voted off, she may have enough strong relationships with the people of the jury that many of them will vote for her. Or if it's Devins (assuming he gets voted off), he may get votes because he would've earned his way back on twice. My DS thinks opposite.

Those that were there before Devens got back in the game only stay on the jury if they stayed at EOE. Anyone voted off now doesn't have to go to EOE to stay on the jury. I really don't see anyone voted out before the merge getting votes from the jury even if they do win their way back into the game. Their overall game resume will just be too weak, IMHO.

She has been pretty nasty to some of the people who arrived on her beach. I still think she's a pain in the butt. I sure hope Rick makes it to the final 3 but it will be an uphill battle. He's already *won* in that he is having a ball playing the game! If they do America's Favorite I have to think he would win.

Absolute incredible game play, idol searching and challenge winning by Rick Devins on this last episode. Once again he has won me over with his amazing tenaciousness in refusing to give up and giving everything to getting a bit further in this game. I didn't like him (don't really know why) for most of this season but he has absolutely proven himself over the past few weeks to be the best player this season. I think I need to re-evaluate the entire season and doing that I realize he should win this game. It's not a popularity contest or who is the most likable survivor. It's who can outwit, outplay and outlast. Rick Devins out of all of them has proven he is the best at that-so far. I really hope he makes it to the end-he deserves it-especially with the entire tribe constantly trying to get him out.
I still like Lauren to-she was wise enough to realize that Rick didn't get that idol from a person on EOI while Julie sat there by the campfire listening to Rick's explanation of who he was gifted the idol from someone from EOI eating it all up hook, line and sinker. Lauren instead confronts Rick in the jungle and tells him "I know you didn't get it from someone on EOI" point blank, while everyone else I assume bought his story-this was the one he used the previous week to save himself. But Lauren's resume is weak. She was part of the master plan to get Ron out last week-it was her vote and Gavin's 2 that did it. But she hasn't won any challenges although she still has her idol-will there even be a chance to play it-isn't time running out?
I also really like Gavin. He too was part of the plot to get Ron out.
I was happy to see Aurora go. I of course felt sorry for the way she had to grow up (I don't wish that on anyone, obviously) but it doesn't have to make you lose your compassion for other's, does it? I still really didn't like her trying to make a deal while Lauren was laid out unconsciousness flat on her back with the medical team all around her in the middle of the jungle. There's a time and place for everything and that was not the time! Even the players who had left that challenge and were sitting around watching the challenge were upset by her doing that.
Julie is an easy person to take to the final 3 and at this point of course people are thinking about that.
I absolutely cannot believe that next week is the final! Holy cow-I thought we'd have at least 2 episodes left what with a person coming back in from EOI-how in the world are they going to have time for all of that? So we've got what 5 people left-Julie, Rick, Gavin, Victoria and Lauren plus someone from EOI coming back in that's 6 people and we have to get that down to 3, and we have to start with an EOI challenge to find the EOI person who will join the 5. Sounds like a heck of a lot for the final episode. I guess they'll be able to cover it in 2 hours-I hope it's a 2 hour episode.
Who do you all want in the final 3? Who do you want coming back from EOI?
Honestly I don't know who I want. I think I want Joe coming back from EOI but part of me doesn't want a returning player coming back from EOI, swooping in and taking it all. Know what I mean? As much as I love Joe and want him to finally win. I'd be happy with a Rick Devins, Lauren or Gavin win, or a Joe win I guess. But I'd prefer the first three first. Then Joe. How about you?

Ok......here goes my opinions.
I would like anyone except Devens to go home at this point. I feel that strongly about these players. Why has no one gone out of their way to build a resume? Everything those 3 players do is as a group. Lauren should be smart and go to Devens and Julie, and say she would work with them. She won’t win (IMO) but at least she will be building a better resume for herself. She can say I merged when the tribe was Comma strong ( is that the opposing tribe name?? I forget), I made connections and never had my name written done once, I never used my idol, and I had a big part of getting Ron out with a blindside. If she would go with them she would at least have something of her own to hang her hat on! I really liked Lauren at first and now I don’t. She is big on rolling her eyes and making snide comments. She just seems a little childish. I’d prefer Victoria over Lauren at this point.
EOE......I would like Chris to come back. I believe that is his name. He was right after Reem. David and Devens had a hand at getting Chris voted off. They flipped on him, and that won’t be good for Devens. Actually, I don’t know if anyone coming back will be good for Devens. They know everyone who is going to make up the jury has been sitting and watching the same game play they have seen. I don’t think ANYONE..... from camp or EOE will want to go to a final with Devens. He has an uphill battle!
What I want to see next week is Devens use his immunity necklace(at the last moment possible) and him to win challenges. He has to stay save or he is gone once the HII all get canceled out. He will also have to win the last battle to go to the final because NO ONE IS GOING TO PICK HIM.
I think the final battle will be EOE people only. They win and then they go back to camp. I hope Aurora doesn’t win. I get a hard life. It sounds like she has had it, but she is cold and so condescending when she speaks. She really needs to try and be a little more soft. She is so hard and opinionated it’s very off putting. Like I said I’d like Chris to win. David would be my next pick. Joe could win it all if he came back......but I think players go with the mentality that “they already had a season to win. This is our season”.
Can’t wait til next week!

I’ll spoil it...
I’m so mad! Really? How the heck did Chris win? Gavin won immunity several times, never got a vote, and was in on a lot of the big moves. Chris just pulled it out at the end.
I was really disappointed when Devens lost the last challenge. We all knew he would have to win that to stay in the game. He was so close with the fire so many times. Darn it!
I think season 39 has potential. Most people like what the new editing has done for this season. It’s time to shake things up a little. It’s been 20 years! Sandra and Rob are very egotistic, so we could have some good showdowns. I’ll watch!

Loved watching this season, although I’m disappointed that I didn’t always watch the episodes in a timely manner and that I didn’t come and discuss as much with my pea friends. I missed that. I’ll be better next season! Okay, so the EoE was kind of a neat idea. I get it, there were elements of it I kind of enjoyed, but overall I hope they don’t do it again. I’ve already said before that I really missed the Ponderosa footage (and yes, I think they’ll still show some footage from the EoE folks going there as well as the last two vote-offs). I also felt that the players there sort of detracted from the main part of the show and the cast still left in the game. Lastly, I think it provided an unfair advantage to the person returning to the game who’s been bonding with all of the people voted off who harbor resentment toward those left in the game and who feel that their fellow EoE is an underdog and one of them. So, once again Devens was super entertaining. Watching him find his own real idol and then hide those fake idols and listen and watch people finding them...you just can’t help but love it. Devens was the clear winner this season. He played an absolutely amazing game. Once Devens was voted out I really, really wanted Gavin to win. Gavin wasn’t flashy. He played a quiet game but a strategic game. I thought he deserved the win. But I thought he made a few mistakes at final TC. He probably wasn’t going to win anyway, but still. One mistake imo was that in trying to discredit Chris’ game because he was in EoE and not playing Survivor during that time, he sort of discredited most of the jury. Also, when asked about not looking for an HII he said he didn’t need to because he was always on the side of the numbers. That seemed a little lazy. You NEVER know when you’ll be in trouble so you should always be concerned about having an idol. Plus, if nothing else, you want to keep it out of your enemies’ hands. But, I still liked his gameplay and what he had to say better at TC. Chris made some decent moves in the short time he was back in the game. But there was something smarmy and a little too showboaty and sales guy for me. I thought it was kind of obnoxious when he started questioning Gavin at final. I loved that Kelly spoke up and shut that down. And honestly, Julie at the end really kicked it into gear. She lost me at her supposed use of emotional meltdowns as a tool in the game. No, those were just meltdowns Julie. Nevertheless, I was hoping she’d at least get a vote or two. The reunions go way too fast but I’m glad that at least they still have them. Other shows, like Amazing Race never had them and others, like Top Chef stopped them (boo Andy Cohen and Watch What Happens). I loved Sia and her prize for Devens. It’s so cool that she’s a superfan and puts her money where her mouth is. Devins was so clearly surprised and touched. When someone mentioned that next season looked bad I thought “oh they’re just being negative!”. Lol...sorry whomever that was. You’re right it does look terrible. I do NOT need to see Rob’s and Sandra’s faces again, especially Rob. And let’s feed their massive egos even more by making these giant statues of their heads and making these guys mentors.
