I think I'll try Goodwill tomorrow and a craft thrift store we have in town. For scrapping supplies, it is seriously like going back to 2002. Once in a while I find a cool tool or stamp, but I don't need anymore of those old papers.

This all sounds like so much fun! I've never been to a flea market either!

My flea markets offer better prices on Saturdays than Sundays because attendance is lower so they want to sell. Ooh, that reminds me of a good point. The weather has a huge influence on turnout/attendance. Make it a point to go on days that are crummy or have competing events. There won't be as many vendors but the ones who are there will be much more interested in getting your business. Nice, sunny weekends = lots of turnout.

Embri I did guess that paint. It was one of my guesses. Your right girl I think that will be hard to find. Try over at Scale Modeling. Those guys have long memories and great resources. My bad about your inks. I had a bad headache last week, not Covid. I don't know why I started listing drawing inks when you are looking for acrylic inks for miniatures, lol. No W&N does not make acrylic inks, that I know of. Daler Rowney does. I don't know how well they would work with miniatures.

www.scale-models.co.uk/ these folks? Having a bit of a search-fail in turning up where exactly "Scale Modeling" might be. No worries about the inks - I was initially going to try my selection of pen inks but they failed the reactivation tests (as one would expect if I'd thought about it a bit more). A lot of painters are using Daler Rowney's acrylic inks, they get recommended a lot so I'll probably get some of those. Waiting for white to come back into stock as it's the most useful ink running for my purposes. Payne's grey and sepia also get a lot of thumbs up from other modellers. Thought of another flea market tip - time of day matters. If you hunt in a competitive category of goods, i.e. there are lots of people who buy the same kind of stuff you want, then first thing in the morning is your jam. For slower moving stock, end of the day may serve you well. Sellers are going to be more motivated to make that one or two extra sales just before packing up, and are often more open to making a deal just so they don't have to take their stuff back home again.

Embri- cs.finescale.com/Click the community tab. The men are really sweet and a bit curmudgeonly in that steal your heart way. They are really knowledgeable and have long memories about products.

This Is true but beware some flea markets that works but some I attend are to run until 1:00pm but often vendors leave by 10:00! I’m an early riser and like the cooler morning temps so I like to get there early.

Well, boo! I went to Dollar Tree and some lady had picked up the last package of journal cards that were WRMK brand. They have some back to school stuff out. Cute notebooks and there's some smaller sized ones by the register with a thick cover on the front and back. They had smaller containers good for organizing. Remember those magnetic tins with a clear cover? They had a version of those in a corner of the store. I was really hoping to find some monogrammed pumpkins I saw on Instagram for fall decorations. Not much has been put out in my store. It is on the smaller side though.
This probably doesn't count as thrift store, but the ones in my area are crap for crafty things.

I finally found scrapping/crafting supplies at the flea market today! NIB Cutterbee scissors $3, a large wood rubber stamp of an old world map $1 and two packs of large floral printed napkins for $1.50 each. And of course lots of stuff for collages and junk journals.

Ooh nice! You can never have too many pairs of good scissors. I got a quality pair of Henckels at thrift a couple years back, poor things were rusty around the screw but cleaned up with some elbow grease. Blows my mind how some people can neglect their tools like that. Good price on the stamp too - the thrift shops always want way too much for them around here.

Usually the stamps I find are the cutesy older ones, or expensive SU boxed sets. Did see a big box of the old office stampers that I would have loved but I didn’t want the whole thing for $50. i would love to find a cancelled/paid/return to sender old style rubber stamper for a reasonable price.

I stopped into Salvation Army this week. I picked up:
- 3 sets of Stampin Up stamps. All of them were Christmas. $1.99 each
- a writing set for one of my kids. It included four bottles of ink and a glass pen. $5.99 for the set.

Nice finds! What kind of ink? I have a hard time resisting buying inks, even if I haven't yet found uses for most of what I have. They're just so pretty!

Embri, it is The Writing Collection Ink Set. Just taking the lid off the box makes it displayable on a desk. Authentic Models seems to be the brand of the ink. The colors are: black, bordeaux, verde, and tobacco

Flea market day. Bought 14 packages and 6 8 page books of vintage image stickers for my collages for $10. Probably could have talked seller down but she was such a sweet lady I didn’t bother. saw some beautiful large rubber stamps at an antique shop the day before but not for $15 each! Also bought lots of paper and books for my collages. I think I need to join Flea Markets Anonymous cuz I have a real addiction for sure, or start selling some of my stash!

Haha, I know what you mean. It's hard to leave things behind when they're a great deal, even if it's something you'd never considered owning up until that moment!

Bought a set of SU Brush Strokes (oriental landscapes) because I liked the goldfish stamp at the thrift shop. It only cost $3. That is cheaper than the flea markets sell them for.

I had about given up on ever finding something paper craft related at Goodwill other than very old paper and stamps. Today I bought a Rubbermaid Embellishment Binder. i had never heard of it before, it looks like the expensive Crops in Style PSB. It was only $7 new in packaging! It’s not as sturdy as the PSB but it will work just as well.

I guess I need to join Flea Markets Anonymous too, then, huh? lol!! I miss *good* flea markets-- the Midwest ones with all sorts of antique and vintage dealers. The 'swap meets' here in the Phx area are more of the 'blu-blocker sunglasses and sweat socks' type of selling. I spent some time in a Goodwill a week or two ago; they were selling some 25-pks of Stampin' Up and CTMH cardstock, but nothing I wanted. And some old, old, old magnetic-style page photo albums. ick. But like someone else said, the stuff I usually see is the more 'cutesy' circa 2002 stuff. blech! I haven't found any good estate sale listings for a while- the height of summer is just not a good time for them, here.

It’s rare to find estate sales or rummage sales. This week I pulled out a large pile of old books and magazines to sell. Wish me luck that I at least break even or it’s no more flea markets for me for a while!

Beautiful day at the flea market, lots of sellers finally. Replaced my junky deckle edge scissors I accidentally threw out with my scraps with a pair by Stampin Up. They were only $1! Found books, old paper and several old school tablets filled with nice cursive writing for a reasonable price. Splurged on very old copy of Godeys Ladies Book 1830 for $6..

Seems the only stamps I find at the thrift/GW or flea market are CTMH country cute. Came across a table full of stamps, ALL CTMH. Bummer.
i did find a large rolodex filled with blank cards for $2. I already have a Memorydex for collage and make altered playing cards but think this size will mix it up and challenge me. Also found a deep IKEA drawer insert with dividers but turned out to be slightly to small for my jumbo glue sticks and scissors. It was only $1.

Last weekend my scrappy friend and I took a tour through the Goodwills and ARCs on the north side of town. We hit seven. I found these little gems. Looked up the wooden box and it sells for $25-45 on different sites. Crazy. I got it for $4.

Found a SU set of a japanese garden theme, and three angel wood stamps for $1 each. Bought 5 vintage stampers that might have been used at a store. They are in a fancy style (&, per, each, for and Bessie). I can’t post a photo of them.
