Hello, everyone! It's been forever...I'm so glad to see this familiar place after a long absence. And especially this wonderful December Daily thread!!! Could someone remind me - is the old Jasmine Jones album dark green or black? I want it to be black, but suspect it's not... Thanks in advance! I’m almost positive it’s a charcoal gray. Yep, confirmed it’s a dark gray, per Ali’s video last year.

I am so confused as to what I want to do for DD. I love the idea of a 3x8 album - but the skinny spine makes me think it wont be big enough. 4x6 would be a good size & I could print everything at home on my photo printer. I have a 6x8 album at home already but since its just DH & I for most of the month, is it too big?
Oh the choices. I need to decide tonight so if I need to get a 4x6 album, I can. I think they will sell out quickly - though I am not opposed to using the old 4x6 album in the shop now and just cover the metal plate. But then will it turn out to be a crappy red color?
UGH. I'm over thinking this, big time but here we are. 🤷‍♀️

Random question for anyone: If KP pulls through with the albums, do you think they will be like AE albums or those ring bound ones without the spines?

Can we talk about approaches? Who does a full December DAILY - as in, a story/spread for each day? Who does more of a December Memories approach where your album includes a selection of stories from the month in no particular sequence? Who does something else entirely? Last year I just added a few extra pages to my happy planner because we had just moved and our brand new house was basically falling apart (two 2nd floor plumbing leaks between Thanksgiving and Christmas), so I was Mrs. Crabby Appleton and that journaling didn't seem like it'd be much fun to read. THIS YEAR, if all goes well, I'm planning to do a page for each day, though it may not be that day's events, it might just be waxing poetic about the holidays, or how I'm missing having little kids (mine are 23 & 20), but I really want to play with all the pretty scrappy things. which helps me get into the Christmas spirit. We end up going to 3-4 events in December, and have at least one here, besides Christmas Eve/Day so I figure between that and taking pics of the christmas home decor and whatever I manage to bake, there's enough stuff for 31 pages' worth.

I was waiting to see what I thought of Ali's products this year, but what with the shipping fee and the crazy prices on everything, I decided instead to get the Elle's studio kit. Even though I will probably have to pay customs taxes, I feel the kit is worth it. It's cute and cohesive and has more than enough for what I need. So that's my Christmas crafting supplies sorted, now I can focus on the start of the academic year next week. I bought the Elle's Studio kit too (arrives tomorrow, I think - JOY!) and I'm gonna hold out the rest of my cash for Crate Paper, because I just KNOW it's going to be amaze.

Has anyone seen a line stamp similar to this year’s DD release? I know she has a chunkier one in the shop, but I prefer the DD one and I don’t want to pay $5 for shipping.

I have a 6x8 album at home already but since its just DH & I for most of the month, is it too big? I often use 6x8 albums and there's only my DH and I. I find it a good size to use some papers and embellishments I love without feeling like I need to cover it up with journaling. Many pages will only have one photo, some have none.

I have a 6x8 album at home already but since its just DH & I for most of the month, is it too big? I am childfree but my not filling up a 6x8 per December is mostly because my minimalist nature kicks in. I could fill a 6x8 with "just us" if I wanted to document everything, I'm positive. There are enough date nights, nights in with seasonal movies, Christmassy things in the city, seasonal recipes to try, walks by the cold seashore, helping out family during the holidays (as we're childfree, we do most of the caretaking in our respective families), etc. I just decide to focus on certain memories rather than all. Have you considered filling one album with two years' worth of December memories?

Dumb question here...so Inked/SC/AE protectors will fit in a Simple Stories binder, you just see the extra holes? Exactly! You can order theAE/SC page protectors (which are quite good) and use them in Simple stories or Project Life albums. Although one could argue it's madness to order Inked PPs when Simple Stories offer theirs for significantly less (and they are great quality). A set of 10 6x8 PPs from Simple Stories is usually around US$3.50.

After at first deciding not to do a December Daily album at all this year, I've now changed my mind and want to do a 3x8 album. I plan on using my stash for it, though, so I only need the album and page protectors. Unfortunately, the shipping to Canada for Ali's is as much as the album is. I'm on the hunt for a festive 3x8 album without atrocious shipping costs to Canada. Argh, frustrating. Color Cast Designs has an acrylic TN album that you can use 3x8 protectors with (if you already have some of those hanging around). I used it earlier this year to make a 3x8 album for my Montreal trip and it worked great! Colar Cast is a US company so I am not sure about her shipping but it is probably cheaper than Ali. Citrus Twist offers 4x8 (ish) albums as well if you're looking for a traditional album with a spine rather than covers with loose rings. They offer a range of 3x8 PPs as well.

Does anyone have a good source for a similar font to the one on the AE DD Making Spirits Bright stamp set? It's on the price sheet and it seems similar to other fonts I keep seeing pop up. I can't seem to locate it though.

My DD stash lacks chipboard, because most of the other designers don’t do it in their kits. But, I can’t fathom paying $25 for both sets from AE. Her price is inflated, right? Or is chipboard really that expensive?
I am so overwhelmed with the amount of choices and crazy prices that I don’t want to buy anything. But, my stash does need some updating...ugh!!!

I am really on the struggle bus right now because the stuff I want would not warrant $5 shipping — it’d probably be $2.50, per her regular shipping costs.
But do I wait until after September...

This is the font. I tracked it down as soon as I spotted it last year. The free version lacks quite a few characters but you can make do (I have!)

I'm not sure I'll have a response before the AE release, but I'll post when I get a reply.

It's totally inflated. I've bought many 12x12 sheets of it from scrapbook.com for around $6 (or less on sale). Same quality. Please please please don't buy the million dollar chipboard

Things from the shop I'd split: Chipboard (I really only want the word strips) 2 of the 4x6 tags 1 sheet of gold stars ( I have the same stars in red if someone wants to trade) 3x8 journal cards + transparency - I only want one transparency and about 1/3 - 1/2 of the cards Specialty Journal cards - only want about 1/3-1/2 of them mom - Which transparency do you want? I *may* be interested in splitting this overpriced set with you...tell me more about what you're liking in terms of the cards, too. I dislike red and white unless it's in the multicolored items (striped cards for example).

I like that comment that buying DD from Ali is like the december daily version of the hunger games.....!! I think that needs to be a page! Are you going to grab your must haves and run for the forest and come back later when the craziness has died down? If this was a literal in person sale, people would get hurt for sure. Which is kind of depressing.

burnbright I am so very sorry for your loss. My mother was battling lung and brain cancer in December 2014 and she passed January 6th 2015. I made my album that year and it was full of many sad days but they're are also good days too in there. I helped her make out her Christmas Cards that year, wrapped her gifts, she was able to go out one day with all the females in the family shopping for a couple of hours. My album in 2015 was very sad too I had 3 family members die that month and then missing my mom. But I always find a way each year to include her in my albums. I include a favorite recipe, I always decorate her grave festive and include pictures. I have newspaper clippings of articles she saved and make copies and put them in my album. I also have papers where she wrote memories down or other things she saved over the years and I will add something to make sure she is represented in album. I will be honest and say it is still hard and when my family looks at my albums and see those pages we cry. I love the idea of adding loved ones into future albums. My dad passed before Christmas last year so needless to say I haven't braved finishing last years album yet. My kids are still little so typically there is a lot of happy, but last year had a lot of sad. I plan to finish it this fall, but I love the idea of including something about him in this years album as well. I will have to think on it....
