Oh dear lord I ‘missed’ completely that I can cut out a half tree any size on my silhouette. DUH then just punch my binder holes. Viola.
Now I just need to find an adequate truck cut file lol I love that truck from Elizabeth crafts ( no they don’t sell it separate I looked )

vintage-pickup-truck.studio3 (141.37 KB) hop2 I did a quick trace - it still needs a bit of fiddling and I left in all the layers, but you could remove all except those you want to cut.

The transparencies definitely have less handwriting, which we have asked for, but I don’t think I am a huge fan. I could have done without the Santa face.

I LOATHE the Santa face. The others I like quite a bit. I really wish FJ would release sneak peaks earlier than October.

Not loving these at all... not loving this steady drip of sneaks. Each of these items on their own are blah but together I am sure will make a cohesive good looking DD....but my time they are on sale, I'm not going to be excited about them. Which is good since I want to hold out for CP. I had to get some basic supplies from scrapbook.com last week, so I threw this in my cart ..I like it better than Ali's stars above www.scrapbook.com/store/ac-376326.html?w=acetatethis is another one but didn't buy www.scrapbook.com/store/ph-pac-0002e.html?w=acetateEarlier in the year I also bought some clear acetate and will print my own ala Amy Gretchen. The acetate is not as thick as Ali's but once its in my DD, I don't really care.

I have not liked hardly anything I have seen being released this year. But I do love what I have seen from Ali it matches my Antique/vintage look that I use in my album. I can see myself buying most of her items this year.

I don’t mind the Santa, but I usually put transparencies over full pages photos. I don’t see how Santa would be complementary. I do like the holly (?), but I’m sure the cost will be fairly prohibitive.

I'm not a fan of the vintage-ish vibe that sneaks have this year. I was really hoping for (and expecting) a more modern/clean lines kit, which is typically Ali's style.

Pretty sure the transpaerencies are no for me.
I've been thinking about the creepy Santa that keeps popping up. One of the Santas in my book might be ok but having them everywhere is a fat no for me. I don't think this kit was actually designed by Ali. I am not getting any of her modern vibes from it. I am thinking she farmed this out like everything else these days.

I thought she was responding to criticisms of all her stuff looking the same and trying to mix it up... but, my concern is that all of her stuff typically looks similar because that is what she is good at. This is too far outside her comfort zone and it just doesn't work.

My initial thought is that since many of the fangirls (and Ali herself) have been incorporating Crate Paper into their DDs the last couple of years, Ali went with a more vintage vibe to jive. My second thought is now that Ali is wholesaling, she thinks she needs to create a more generic look to appeal to more people. Either way, I think everyone is right and she should stick with what she knows. We haven’t had a great DD Collection in a few years

We haven’t had a great DD Collection in a few years I thought about this too and the thing thats holding me up with this is that she's announced she is 'doing something' with SC for DD. I think the vintage vibe comes from them. Her joining SC worries me. Remember the last kit she did with SC? It was a clusterfuck all the way around.

I don't really care if Ali designed the sneaks we've seen so far. I love them all. It seems like they are from add-ons but if the main kit is the same vibe I'll buy it for sure. That will make it the first main kit I've bought from her since she stopped collaborating with Studio Calico. I'm all over the vintage vibe but the one issue I have is that the leaves appear to be mistletoe while the berries are holly berries - unless I'm mistaken.

That Santa face is going to be on *everything*, isn't it? That's exactly what I was thinking... And the thing is, whether you like it or not, it's just seems so generic. It's not original or new in any way (and yeah, I think vintage can be fresh and original). I feel like I've seen it in a million places already. Like the watercolor foliage, it looks like someone picked some random stuff from a catalog of images. Boring. I'm glad I'm doing my own thing. And if I do want some of the AE products I have holiday watercolor foliage digital elements already. I have tons of AE handwriting too (including an old set of Xmas words). I can find all the vintage Santas I need online. I have a feeling that other companies are going to have much better offerings this year.

My initial thought is that since many of the fangirls (and Ali herself) have been incorporating Crate Paper into their DDs the last couple of years, Ali went with a more vintage vibe to jive. Except Crate Paper's last three (and most successful) Christmas collections were mostly modern, not vintage. Snow & Cocoa and Merry Days were very contemporary, one pastel modern, the other moody hipster. Only FaLaLa was retro (with loads of pink). That Santa head would only really work with 2017 FaLaLa. CP has become AC's it brand with an extremely trendy, hip, cool aesthetic.

sleepingbooty I had the same thought! Oooh I loved Snow & Cocoa, I still have some supplies and have really held onto them. Also still super regretting not getting Merry Days, more and more every time I see it. I wish it was still available! I just hope whatever this put out this year is even better... So far Ali's kit is not speaking to me. On the plus side, if I don't love CP's release either (or maybe KP?) I will probably be convinced to go digital

Yippee! The Elizabeth Craft planner dies fit the 6 ring 6x8 Ali Edwards album. If the extra holes don't bother you, they also fit in a Snap 2 ring album. Sorry about the horrible upside down pictures! Ugh! It's been that kind of day. Lol

After all of that, I think I've changed my mind. Looking at the dies, I only really love the base of them and not the extra dies. Then I took a peek at the Silhouette Design store, I can buy just about all of those page designs for a fraction of the price. $60 saved.

Unfortunately, my computer skills are iffy (see upside down pictures in my above post ) and I don't have a Silhouette. ETA- A Silhouette is going on my Christmas list because that tree die looks adorable in the album. I need more shaped pages! Just so everyone knows... The quality of the dies seem decent. They cut great. Most of the base dies are a tight fit on standard size cutting plates. They needed to be shifted and run through twice. No big deal but I'm going to dig out my extended cutting plates to make it easier.
