I don’t even know how to breathe right now. I am so sorry. I am going through kind of the same thing, my soon to be ex is having an affair. The first week after I found out I had no idea how to eat, breath, live, survive. Take things minute by minute, even by second some days. As much as you can, focus on the good, and try to find the joy in every day. When someone first told me that I laughed at them, but it really does help. At first the joy was just the sun shining, or a friend just saying hi. Praying for you, I know how absolutely horrible this is, and how it just takes your breath away. |

Have things been rocky in your marriage or did this come out of left field? When my marriage dissolved, I thought things were going pretty well. I had just given birth to our son and maybe I was too much in love with the baby to notice, but I had no idea until he told me he was having an affair. My baby was 5 months old when I found out, but it had been going on throughout the pregnancy and he finally confessed on my first Mother’s Day as we sat in a restaurant having dinner.
That was many, many years ago and although I was in shock at first, I absolutely don’t regret the marriage ending. Especially since I’ve seen the kind of man he turned into. We met as 12-year olds and married after high school. Had I met him in my 20s, I would have never dated him.
I don’t know what the future holds for you but I can tell you, you are stronger than you know. You will survive this. We are here for you no matter how this turns out for you. Many of us have been where you are and will be there to lend an ear and offer any advice you may ask for.
