Im going to move into the library. NO ac and high humidity makes this a bitch of a heatwave. My bedroom and office are west facing so that side of the apartment cooks in the afternoon. I don't do well in heat. They say its going to be in the 90s on Sunday in my area, which for those without ac is a bad thing.

My area will only get as high as 101. This is my first heatwave since I’ve started having hot flashes, so I’m curious about how bad I will feel. Hopefully there isn’t a brownout-so we can run the AC. My rule used to be that if I was home alone, I don’t turn on the AC. If someone else is home, I turn it on when the house hits 83. With these hot flashes I find myself ignoring my own rules.

I just googled and my town in east bay is not supposed to get over 90. That’s a relief. We fly home from Jackson on Thursday.

I grew up in the foothills above the San Joaquin Valley (there's a Pea who lives there now,) and it's typical for this time of year but no fun. We in the PNW will get hit with it too, apparently. Blarg. Me? I’m in Calaveras county. Right now we are out on the lake enjoying it because the flat landers come up on the weekend and we aren’t about to hang out with that train wreck! It is always fun to hang out at the launch ramps in the early evening tho and people watch. I saw that we are supposed to hit 116. The 100’s start tomorrow. No soccer. We might be out on the lake again. Yes

I really dislike summer and I'm just ready for it to be over. I'm so tired of being hot. It seems like I have been covered with a thin sheen of sweat since about April.

OMG, you just reminded me of when I was hot flashing during an unbelievably hot summer. It was the worst summer of my life. I truly hope for no brownouts for you. I was a very happy camper when hot flashes stopped. Sending good thoughts your way.

I’m in la county. It’s going to be hot. Luckily - I’m in a beach city so it’s tolerable. There’s a nice breeze now. I can’t imagine living inland. Isn’t this the first really hot weather of the summer? Hopefully there won’t be fires! I live inland LA county. We have a cooler, but not air conditioning. I hope we don't fry!! The pool might be looking pretty good!!

Ds is home due to the heat - triggers seizures.
He did his school work and then we went to the pool to get his wiggles out. Now we will hunker down inside while dd gets her infusion.

I'm expecting a Walmart delivery today and I feel so bad! I put out a cooler of water bottles and a sign to help yourself to assuage my guilt.

It’s hot. They have already posted a flex alert for today. Not unexpected. I bet they will for the next few days to. I planned ahead to use my major appliances this morning. Will still use the AC but shouldn’t need much else the rest if the day. It’s hot out there it was almost 100 by 1030 this morning. It’s currently 112 here. Went above the forecast yikes. The feels like is 119. Wow. Much hotter than I was expecting.

Well it was 102 in my backyard at 4pm in inland Orange County.
There’s a fire near Magic Mountain and the 5 freeway is closed in both directions. To be stuck in your car in this heat is so dangerous.

Buckle up, it’s going to get hot for the next week! I’m so over summer! It’s not even going to cool off at night. I schedule electricity all over the US and it’s been crazy lately in the west! Prices are crazy high and schedules are getting cut all over the place. It’s been a long summer for us for sure. Earlier in the summer, Ercot was nuts…now the west. Busy for sure.

Our AC is starting to squeal and with 9 more days over 100. This is not going to be good putting out feelers but I know most places are overbooked for the next few weeks.

OMG I’m sooooo over this heat and there’s no cool down in sight. It may cool off a bit next Saturday but it just keeps getting extended.
It was already over 100 at 9am. This is so not normal for Orange County. I think it’s going to be 107 today. 🥵

We actually had some rain late last night, after midnight. But, this morning, it was already muggy and awful! I just want to feel that ocean breeze again. I want it to cool down at night. Is that too much to ask?!

at 6:45 this morning it was already 90 in my area. I think it has dropped a little bit with the breeze that came out of no where, but the humidity is high. I can't tell if I live in Phoenix AZ or in Florida at this point. I have a small portable ac unit so we are camped out in the bedroom (meaning me and the cats) Walking from my bedroom into the hallway is like walking into an oven. ;I have fans in ever room trying to get the air moving, but the bathrooms and the kitchen are saunas. I love where I live, but right now I really miss having reliable AC throughout the house.

This is nuts. We are getting a new upstairs AC next Sunday. Ours so far is hanging in but just barely. It was over 100 by 9 this morning. It’s not cooling down at night. I’m hoping for cooler weather next Friday. I want to be able to open the house at night so bad. I’m so dreading our next electric bill.
I wish I knew someplace really cool to hang out for a few hours.

So thankful we have AC and that we had it looked over before summer began! It is brutal out there. My son is desperate to go outside and we hang out for about 15 minutes before he’s beet red and looking lethargic. My parents don’t have whole house AC, just window units, so I’ve been hosting them during the day so they can get some relief.

Soooo not normal for Santa Barbara. According to my car it was 99 when I left to run a couple of quick errands at noon and 103 when I got home.

My poor hubby has to work outside in this heat. Sigh! 114 the next two days and over 100 for the rest of the week! I am so glad he will be retiring next year! Stay cool all my California peas! Hot 🥵 🥶

Well we had a huge thunder storm for about 40 min. Rained super hard, got breezy, had a but of hail, and good boomers.
Now? It is humid. Really really humid. Ugh

I know it would add to the humidity but I’m envious of those getting sone rain. I have seen a few posts on FB but nothing here. Well it’s a bit cloudy and that helped cool it down. Thrilled it’s under 90 by630 this is an improvement just wondering if the clouds will hold the heat in though and then not really cool down tonight.
I feel bad for anyone having to work outside in this.

Yeah that cloud cover that rolled thru around 3pm helped to cool everything down earlier than expected. And when I say cool I mean from 110 to 99.

At 6pm it was still 104 here. At 10pm, it had cooled down to 88.
It’s almost 11 and my AC just kicked on again- we are keeping the house at 77.

It’s still warm outside.
Just got back from having a late dinner at the water. There is a ‘cool’ breeze on the ocean but you don’t even need a sweater.
This weather is so strange.

I feel like the fever has broken. Tonight is cooler, but still humid. Tomorrow is suppose to be about 10 degrees cooler than today - high 80’s instead of high 90’s. Of course, I won’t be totally happy until we are back in the 70’s in the daytime. 😆 Just bring on the cooler nights!!

I left my AC on over night for the second night in a row. This morning I took the dog out and jeez it’s sticky humid and warm at 6am!
Hopefully it cools off tonight so I can open up the house overnight. I’ve loved staying at home during the pandemic but the last 3 days of not being able to open the house or go outside is really getting to me. I was going to try and sleep the day away yesterday and couldn’t even do that.

Who had “power going out at 7 am when it’s already 80 out” on their bingo card?
Yep. My power is out. It’s a common occurrence here because cars hit the poles. Total suckage. PGE says restore around 11:15 currently. Only affecting 758 people. I live rural so that’s a large area without power!
Estimated high today is 113. Should be interesting watching today play out.
