It’s supposed to be over 100 for the next 3 days then drop 15 degrees and rain on Saturday. I’m crossing my fingers but 85 and rain seems just as miserable.
Edison has sent me two texts in the last hour to conserve energy.

We have all lights off and the east facing window blinds open for natural light.
Can't up the A/C temp though due to medical needs.
TV is off, pc is off. Kids are playing their Switches which are charged.

It was 107 at noon here. Driving home, my car read 115.
I got a notice of rolling outages but I’m on a block with fire stations, police stations, hospitals so we are exempt.
My oldest kid is out in our “puddle” of a pool (12’x30” deep above ground) with a friend and I’m supervising from the office. No way my sorry ass is gonna go out there and bake!

We don’t have central air but we have multiple fans and a portable ac in our master window. Today our school sent a notice that all afternoon activities were cancelled- lunches and pe classes were held indoors. Kids still wore long sleeves and jeans! At pickup time my car read steadily at 114, then rose to 117. I think after 100 it’s just hot. We’ve been drinking plenty of water and eating frozen candy snap grapes. Also got the emergency alert about the power, am thankful it’s to cool down in a couple of days.

We got the texts and emergency alerts. 830 and so far I haven’t heard of any actual blackouts so hoping we are good. Sitting in the dark but the tv is on. Battery powered fairy lights going. Husband stopped at the grocery store for drinks that were on sale through today and he grabbed takeout chicken dinner so no cooking here.
I unplugged stuff that didn’t need to be plugged in and turned off a few things that didn’t need to be on.

Here is south San Jose it reached 111F at 3pm. AN hour later our power went out and stayed out until 11pm. We were part of small group of about 200 homes affected. Everyone else had their lights on as I drove around the neighborhood w/ the AC on. It reached 88F in the house at 9pm. It was so bad. Today I get to throw out half of my fridge. I feel we have done our part so some other neighborhood can get a blackout if needed. It should "only" reach 100F today.
I was going to make a cold tomato soup for dinner but I couldn't do the last step because, no blender. So we had bagels and lox instead before they went bad.

We got back from Mendocino (where it was a perfect 68 degrees) to a house that was about 89 degrees. We don’t have AC. I went to bed with my deck door wide open and a fan.
Power went out in our neighborhood so I was sweltering without a fan until middle of the night when it went back on.

We broke the highest temperature we've ever recorded yesterday! Went to the zoo to renew our passes in the morning which honestly wasn't horrifically terrible in the shade but it was still hitting 95+ before 11am. Looking at the forecast for the new week and seeing less than 90 degrees F is so surreal lol

It cooled down enough that I could open up a bit last night. It didn’t really help and the house got a bit smoky from the Hemet fire. Hoping it doesn’t get too bad snd that that there aren’t rolling blackouts tonight. I’m so ready for a day in the 70’s or 60’s I think I would do a happy dance.

Got the warning yesterday can we be done? It's supposed to rain here Saturday oh please rain! I would love a good rain but what we will probably get in my area is a few drops and the humidity will go sky high. It will be 20 degrees cooler and feel just as bad as the 100+ days because of the humidity.

I wish we would get rain and soon to help with the fire. Hoping for no lightening and to actually get sone rain. I’m hoping the fires are under control by the time we are supposed to see rain. I keep hoping to see that forward spread has been stopped.

Hurricane Kay is supposed to dump quite a bit of water on Friday night, Saturday morning. They are already saying that sandbags are available in areas that had recent fires and for those near the mountains. If it rains as hard as they say, it should do a lot to help with the Hemet fire. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I sure hope the temperature on the yahoo weather app is wrong. 85 degrees and rain on Saturday just sounds awful! I hope it rains to put out the fires but man that humidity is gonna be horrible and feel like its at least 90.

I’m trying to figure out which direction the fire is moving. But not finding that information. That said I hope it doesn’t pour in us when we drive to Riverside on Saturday the roads up there are crazy enough.

The Fairview fire seems to be growing exponentially:(. Praying that they get it under control soon. Seeing some scary photos. It looked like it was really close to us but it’s not and hope it doesn’t shift toward us. Wildfires scare me.

I hope they get doused by some of this rain they keep talking about. I don't love the thought of greater humidity but less fires are more important.

It is 89 degrees, slightly humid, but there is cloud cover. We don’t have that hot blazing sun to contend with. And … there is a breeze!! Almost makes the heat bearable today! It will be interesting to see the change in weather tomorrow. That said we will get quite a bit of rain.

Even though the temp is the same as it has been and there is more humidity, it feels cooler today. The cloud cover has stopped that driving heat.

It's overcast and cloudy in Ventura county currently. IDC about the humidity, bring on the rain, please. Friend's parent's currently are staying with friend because they evacuated from their home in Big Bear. Praying the rains put out the fires before more loss of life and property.

We are now on evacuation watch. Pulled the important stuff out but seriously there is only so much you can take. Then saw an announcement that where we plan to evacuate in San Diego is expecting heavy winds up to 80mph and heavy rain. It’s getting crazy. Hearing there is sone rain but not where it’s needed and not enough.
We aren’t leaving yet as it’s no where near us but still scared to see the yellow warning snd get the alert on our phones.

Stay safe Scrapper100! We are supposed to get rain by 10AM tomorrow. They said it will be heavy and windy. Evacuation watch is scary! We piled important stuff near the door of each room, ready to grab if we needed to get out.

We got rain and thunder in my area of the IE. Lots of cloud coverage over the San Bernardino Mountains so I hope Big Bear got a good amount. I see their evacs are now a warning and no longer mandatory.
The Hemet fire however is hovering close to 20,000 acres and is flaring up pretty bad. I follow Fire Girl who goes photos and videos.
It is 99° but feels like 110°+ with this humidity. Tomorrow is to be 93° and Sat thru Wednesday only 84°!! Nice fall temps.

We got a tiny bit of rain earlier this morning, such a welcome reprieve! It felt cool and breezy for about five minutes and then the humidity ramped up again. The cloud cover is nice even if it’s bringing humidity with it.

It seems to not be moving our way but I know that can change and change quickly. I just keep hoping they catch a break and get ahead of this soon and all the other fires around the state. I am glued to my phone- duty watch, cal fire, nasa firms, Twitter and Flightradar24. I’m feeling a bit better being able to track stuff a bit more just hoping they are accurate. I am also on lots of local FB groups to. Most stuff is ready to load if we need to leave. It’s no where close at this point but if that changed we will load up. It’s so much easier to see what’s going on than the last time we went through this with the Cedar fire.
