Dh is an attorney doing insurance defense for workers comp. I am a molecular biologist by schooling and worked in it a few years before becoming a project manager for a construction company that specialized in building labs.
I knew we had a lot of teachers, but there are a good handful of librarians that I was unaware of. I always wanted to be a librarian.

Clerical part of the mortgage industry for 27 years (me) married to a guy who works for Best Buy. But just like Chandler on Friends , I'm not entirely certain what he does. But he gets to work from home. I feel the same way especially when the acronyms come out. He also gets to work from home 50%-75% of his schedule so I hear him but over my head!

We are both retired now.
DH worked for a major newspaper in the Bay Area for 33 years. After his retirement from there he started a catfish farm. We sold that business 3 years ago and he is completely retired.
I worked in HR and then I changed direction and was a training and banquet manager for a large corporation. Now I'm happily retired too.

At my elementary school we got to work one day a year in the library and I got to stamp the books with the due date. I thought that was so cool so I told everyone I wanted to be a librarian. By the time I was in my 30's many libraries had electronic check-outs. I guess I would have been bummed.

DH is a civil engineer and supervises the building of roads and bridges.
I got a Master's in Social Work decades ago and worked in medical social work (NICU and then traumatic head injury) until I had children. In addition to a ton of volunteering in the community and at their schools, I then worked part-time for a YMCA for 19 years in marketing and group exercise. Now I piddle with two part-time jobs -- one doing research & on-line sales for a jewelry store and one cashiering for friends who own an auction company.
I apparently still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up!

DH is a Rocket Scientist
Up until a couple of months ago I was Admin for a Financial Advisor. I quit my job and moved to where DH's job is. I don't know what I will do here, it's a series of very small towns, and about 30 minutes in either direction to any employment opportunities. I'm not looking for a career, but would like something more than the Subway shop inside a truck stop.

DH is a body mechanic (works on vehicles that get smashed)
I'm technically an Admin Assistant who is working as a contract person for my old company while looking for another job.. which right now is called a Records Technician and it's been a very very long process (since March 2nd).. right now I just took a psych test and they are in the middle of doing a background check. If I pass those I take another psych test and not sure what the next step will be.. if it happens. It's a job working inside a jail. I am praying I get it at this point but I don't know???

It's just me, as my divorce was finalized in April. But, I sell airplane parts. Before I fell into the aerospace industry, I worked in finance. But I love where I am. It's an exciting career and I never know what my day will be like. That sounds like a cool job... selling airplane parts.. Didn't know people just sold parts? (I love anything to do with planes!!) My first career was working for TWA and I LOVED it.

Mechanical engineer/RN My specialty is cardiac but I've been out of the hospital for 3 years. I finally miss it. Thinking of going back now that I'm finally pursuing my BSN. Not having that has been a huge hindrance on the east coast, while in the Midwest it was not necessary. 15+ years experience on a very busy cardiac floor means nothing out here without those initials. It sucks! I must say, though, that I love my office job! My Mom is an RN, and has worked in the Cardiology Dept at a hospital for 30 plus years. 8 months or so ago, they asked her to work 2 days a week in their Cardiac Rehab Center, and she's really enjoying that. It's in a newer, off site facility, and I think it's a nice change of pace. Nurses are amazing!
