Prayers have been flowing for all E coast cities, and towns all week, and they will continue, for weeks, and months to come.
I hope to be able to help,in some way, over the coming weeks.

The two shelters in Groves are FULL.
Governor Abbott has boats and vehicles en route from the Department of Defense. The number of counties declared disaster areas have been increased.
11 counties will be receiving individual assistance. DisasterAssistance.Gov. If you are among those counties, you can get immediate personal assistance from FEMA.
The rain of Hardin County set an all time record. The rain is not over for SE Texas. 4 days to a week will continue to be very challenging with flooding from the Sabine & Neches Rivers.
Sorry. I have pretty slow internet and I could only catch some of what the Governor said. If I have any of it wrong, it isn't for lack of trying to get it right.

Price Gouging will be charge $25,000 per incident. If you are a business, you will be put out of business. Price gouging is wrong and not Texan - paraphrasing Gov. Abbott

100% of Texas National Guard has been deployed and well over 10,000 have come from elsewhere. More will come. We are still in emergency process right now. As they go door to door, more will be needed for search and rescue. Maybe for months. - Paraphrasing Gov Abbott

Texas Dept of Insurance is assuring policy holders that claims will be paid. The deadlines aren't changing Sept 1. The new law doesn't change how things are filed. Property owners with covered damages maintain the same rights whether they file claims before or after Sept 1. - Gov Abbott

NO ONE is being asked their status when they are being rescued or evacuated. The sole purpose is to save lives. - Gov Abbott
Vidor and West Orange County in general - call 409 790-1838 or 409 790-1839
800 621-3362 -- for Hardin Co FEMA? Assistance
The volunteers with boats are pouring in with rescued people right to the shelter or they are taken by truck to where they want to go.

Water is draining but it will takes DAYS to run off.
An elderly woman in The Willows Apartments in Port Arthur couldn't understand what was going on when rescuers were trying to get her to get into a boat. They finally had to just pick her up and put her in the boat. (I think she was with a daughter, maybe? Internet is slow and my phone keeps ringing. I think I remember that correctly)

TX Dept of Transportation - LA has closed I10 westbound into Texas. Take I49 up to 20 and take that into Texas.
Virtually every major corridor has water on it.

TX Dept of Trans only had people get here at all yesterday by coming in on dump truck. That's not possible today. It looks like a lake today.
Not several inches of water, but several FEET of water on these roadways.
I10 between Beaumont and Winnie has several FEET of water. (I posted a picture on the other thread showing whitecaps yesterday before all the worst rain last night.)

Jimmy Johnson Blvd looks more like a Bayou. It's making a great place to launch boats.
That's very north Port Arthur... right near Central Mall and MidCounty.
From Jimmy Johnson on back is underwater.
