leftturnonly I copied this from channel 12 on FB Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick says a levee at the Gilbert Lake Estates suffered two failures in recent days - a small one and a larger one that could become "catastrophic." Branick says while one he is hopeful the levee will not fail, a breech could mean trouble for residents of the western part of the county.

Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick He's a friend of mine. Good man. The gates on the Neches River south of Dam B are going to begin to release water. Everyone south along the Neches is going to receive another foot or two (guesstimate) of water.

It is hard to comprehend all that the poor people in Texas are going through. I can't even imagine it! It must seem like it will never end. Am definitely praying and will continue to do so.

Latest news - Displaced Port Arthur residents at the civic center are being taken to the Carl Parker Center At Lamar State College PA I read this here and in another thread and finally went to google because I couldn't figure out how they were getting stranded people to Oensyvania - I'm like, well if they can get to State College Pennsylvania ( which is a town up here ) that's close enough we can help. But how the heck are they getting here. So I finally googled and realized you meant Port Arthur and felt like an idiot. Many prayers and hugs to everyone down there my heart breaks, and I actually do comprehend what's happening although it seems unimaginable. Hugs Lefty. You aren't the only one who thought State College, PA.

You aren't the only one who thought State College, PA. Love it! Volunteers are handing out food where people are being dropped off after being rescued. What started as 2 boats early this morning is now 50-60 boats at just this one location.

Kirk Vital of Lakeside Park, a subdivision in Port Arthur heavily infested with large gators and water moccasins. He says the lake has come into their streets. This whole situation is beyond horrific in its scope and severity. Gators and snakes added to the mix - I would be in the loony bin for sure! Sending all my positive thoughts to the people dealing with these horrors! May there be no further loss of life. My heart breaks at how long any rebuilding of lives and property will take....

I donated to the Red Cross, and later saw there might be some controversy in doing that but overall I hope it helps.

(Sorry, Couldn't catch the full list) You are doing an amazing job of finding and sharing timely news! THANK YOU! May I ask your source(s)? Right now, I'm just listening to live broadcasts on FB. I'm posting these to FB as I have a lot of family and friends from the area who are both in and out of the area and the details are relevant to them and just copying them here as well. Sometimes, it's the smallest detail in a place like this that can make ALL the difference. I didn't give the link before because they give information quickly, don't repeat it and as it's local news, it helps to be able to elaborate just a bit for the people here.

Federal government assistance on the personal level declared for SE Texas includes such things as individual dumpster units to get rid of debris.

Pulaski County, Arkansas - Task Force is headed to Beaumont, Tx with AR Game and Fish and NWA Task Force. They have 24 boats, will work 24 hours, 12 hour shifts.
Tweet came from @pulaskiar
Will someone with a twitter account please give them this information? They MUST check DriveTexas.org for road closures or they'll never get here. As it is at this moment, there is no vehicle entry into SE Texas.
Thank you.

It's going to take another 18-24 hours for Harvey to fully clear out of the area, with steady improvement during that time.
It will take days and days for the area to drain, and some areas that will receive overflow from Dam B won't even see that extra water for several days.

Water is still potable. There are no drinking water adviseries. This just amazes me. Still praying for everyone and thank you, leftturnonly for keeping us up-to-date.

In all seriousness---what can Ww peas do for YOU? (Besides prayers) I haven't a clue. I took a quick nap, woke up to one of the sweetest little 3 year old great-nieces there every could be, then read a friend say she had been airlifted out. It's very disorienting. This is a FEMA info link you all might find useful. This link will take you to a page with a whole lot of info. Among the “stuff” is a rumor control page. - from KFDM I need to try to catch up with what I missed. Responding to the friend who was airlifted out was another friend who has 12 people at her home - 2 of them newborns, other very young children, a husband who had a kidney transplant and an elderly mother-in-law with cancer. She's FB, so I know she's alive, but I have family that may not be accounted for yet and I'd like to see if I can find anything.

hears what my FB looks like...
S1 - I've been checking on my family in Port Arthur, Orange, Beaumont, Winnie, Lake Charles and Houston. I just hosted some family evacuees from Corpus Christi. I know some of my family have lost property in Port Aransas and Schoenstatt on Goose Island has sustained significant damage. Places I have loved and gone to for spiritual rejuvenation and retreat have been changed again by this horrible storm but they will come back. Many people have lost all their possessions and property but in the end it is lives that matter. Lives have been lost in this horrific storm that has dragged on for days. I look out on today which is so beautiful here in Austin, Texas and give thanks for today. I hope and pray that all who are able to make a difference for the victims of Harvey do something! If you can't physically help someone then donate some money to the Red Cross or some agency you have faith in. There have been so many heroic tales of rescue that remind all of us about how good people can be to one another when faced with a real disaster! We can make a difference if we want to. We just have to persevere and never give up trying. My heart goes out to all of my family, friends and fellow Texans and Louisiana folks who are suffering from Harvey! Please, let me know that you are OK! Let me know how I can help. God bless you.
D - Good morning. Just wanted to let my family and friends know I'm ok. No water in the house and still have electricity. Just no TV. I'm am truly blessed. Prayers for everyone that had to leave their homes in the middle of the night. Bless you all
M - I hear the rescue helicopters. This is insane.
S2 - Bless all these people who are helping with rescue and relocations! THIS is how we need to be ALL the time! People helping people - no matter what.
Those are first things that have shown up.

I'm looking at a photo from the friend above who was airlifted out. Don't know if they're her photos or someone else's. Refinery tanks are sitting in water. I'm taking a chance and linking the photo. Don't know if it will show.

On the chance that these aren't her photos, I won't share the geared up US ... Coastie? (Can't tell) who's sitting in the open doorway holding on to the jumpstrap? (whatever it's called) and the VERY happy woman sitting on the floor next to him. It's a GREAT shot.

These are some of the things that I'm thinking about tonight:
I have close family that may have been near where the photo of the whitecaps on I10 were, only they lived down on the ground and that photo was before the worst of the rain. Don't know if they were there or not. He's the BIL who thought the storm was over several days ago & posted as such. I replied that wasn't what I was seeing, that there was far worse coming for far longer and neither he nor his wife posted back. I don't know if they saw it, bad internet out there, but I tagged the heck out of both of them & if either was on FB, they would have been notified.
I expect my house, if standing, has water, but not deep water.

These are details from a friend who's house is dry, but neighbors aren't.
My neighbor and I attempted to get out of neighborhood with his boat to rescue a friend's mother in law in PA but the boat started to float off trailer so we had to abort.
Because the station does not record in extremely heavy rains I am guessing we are close to 50". (It read 43")

Me - Well, the church that I married my late husband in, where we attended as a family, that had its pipe organ sucked out of the chapel and thrown around the parking lot during Hurricane Rita and was then refurbished to a more modern asthetic.....
is now seriously standing in a whole lot of water. Just saw a photo of it. I can't even guess how many feet deep the water is.
