Pretty much everything I had is gone. I have my vehicles and computer. Don't have my photos and important documents. I know it's super early in the process but I want to share what a friend who lost her house in the Fort McMurray fires did. She set up a Dropbox account and asked her friends and family to upload any pictures they had of her and her kids etc. (Set up folders by year) She was overwhelmed by the response, and while she doesn't have every picture, she's been able to put together albums. Don't forget about all the pictures you've shared on Facebook, etc too I hope this idea helps some of you gain some of those precious pieces of your histories back. There is a glimmer of hope that my house did not get hit as hard as I'm preparing myself to face. And yes. I have taken photos for many years and shared many, many with family who I have learned are OK. I was in the process of getting all of them digitalized and uploaded to Dropbox but didn't get very far when I was called away. It is what it is: The Dance - and I wouldn't miss it for anything.
